Indefinite future. A wise investor might just pick the very known cryptocurrency Bitcoin rather than taking the higher risk investing with altcoins. It's not like they are the worst choices out there but there's better assurance in Bitcoin than them. Money wise, safety wise.
I still have some choices when it comes to buying altcoin. BNB for example, based on its market chart, whenever a bull happens, it doesn't fail to ride it and it could swing higher if ever the top currencies are doing well. But recently created altcoins in my opinion are out of the picture. I have seen stagnant movements from them even if there's a wild market happening.

There is no doubt that money safety comes first. Looks like altcoins are still too risky and have not gained users' trust as Bitcoin has. I know that will never happen. BNB's success is a combination of many factors that can not be duplicated. The only thing that favors altcoins is the high return in the short term, with high risks though. As long as greed is still in human nature, all risky stuff will exist forever.

What i learnt for several years is people is waiting the good moment to buy it even on this bear market situation. Some people already aware that bitcoin halving will happen next year so maybe they hold their fund to invest in later on next bull run. People are getting smarter they know the timing of investing in cryptocurrency.

Altcoins can also be your good investment, but since not everyone is ok to invest with make sure you analyze before you make a decision.
I don't like altcoins with too much hype even if they have no usage in this market, because after that hype you can expect for that token to slowly die and be nothing. Good altcoins can be more rewarding, there are times where you can get more profit with altcoins compare to Bitcoin. Perfect timing is also a key here, don't just buy altcoins know when to timing the market.

I also believe bitcoin will go down but not for long, and there will be times when bitcoin will rise again, this is like an economic wave that makes the market go up and down.
but from there some altcoins died and were replaced with new ones.
investors usually come back in when the market has started to improve.

The recent price drop of Bitcoin and some bad news on the market may cause a new round of FUD for investors. With the price going down, Bitcoin will be more volatile in the short term and the Altcoins that depend on Bitcoin will go through more ups and downs. In this bear market, more investors are hesitant to any Altcoin investment. Apart from the macro environment factor, what truly holds you back from investing in Altcoins ? Please let me know your thoughts.
I don't see people being hesitant in investing in Altcoins at all. Of course, Bitcoin gets the most investments and the volume since it is the top coin and people believe in it more, but even altcoins are getting some good volumes the thing is, there are a lot of altcoins, so not all of them can get a lot of volumes as people mostly diversify their investment. Bitcoin is only one, so it obviously gets more.

Altcoins that are trusted and have been around for a long are not bad investments at all. They provide great returns even in the short term if the price rises up just a little. Scalpers earn profits mostly through altcoins like ETH and BNB, etc.

Nothing stops me from investing in altcoins. In fact during such low prices I like to buy the ones who can give me a really decent nice interest yearly by staking the coin.I like Zilliqa which I heavily invested in and I am mining it beside also buying it,up to 1200 Zil a month is my target for this first year but when I have money I immediately invest in it even more like over 4000 Zil a month.I like that where I have staked them in Atomic Wallet I get my rewards daily and I can withdraw anytime I want.

Like this coin there are a lot of other altcoins which many people are investing in so people that are in crypto from a long time, nothing is stopping them to invest in altcoins.

Not only the various fuds, but also the incidents of the past years have all together kept me away from alt-coin.  It is not a lie that there are big scams going through alt coins or crashing them. We don't have to go far to see the 2022 Luna incident and the ftx crash.  However there are some top level alt-coins that can be trusted but I would suggest that it is better not to hold them for the long term.  Best for holding will always be Bitcoin as you don't have to stress about its security.

The altcoins themselves are what is holding me back, their sheer number makes impossible for anyone to take a look at each one of them and seriously evaluate them, and when we take into account the majority are no good this means we have to spend a great deal of time researching those altcoins and we may not get any positive result for all of this time invested, and when this is the case people prefer to simply stay away from them as they do not think it is worth it to invest so much time in those altcoins for no gain at all.

Aside from what others mentioned in here about scams and rug pulls, my experience in day trading back in my days just made me stick with Bitcoin. I encountered lots of losses through majority of coins I day traded and it just happens that day trading is not meant for me. That's perfectly fine for me either way to still keep on holding one coin since Bitcoin already gave me greater experience in hodling rather than day trading.

I hope it does not discourage you OP to keep on pushing your projects though as I believe you are a part of a team in a project based on your post history. If you're truly a legitimate anyway, you're going to be okay.

Thanks for your sharing. Yes our project is legitimate and we are truly a dedicated team. As more features are finished and launched in the days ahead, we will definitely publish more details. Please stay tuned and hope you will like our project FireDAO.

indeed in investing bitcoin is the best coin, but that does not mean altcoin investment is not safe, it depends on what altcoin we invest. for me ethereum, bnb and polygon make great altcoins to invest long term. but it will be very risky if we invest in new altcoins where there are not many communities, and of course it will be very volatile and likely to be manipulated, but if we can take advantage of the moment it will certainly be very profitable, even though it is risky

To be fair, bitcoin is only good in terms of safety but not good in terms of profitability, altcoins still offer better returns. Every investment has risk, just like when we compare bitcoin to real estate, real estate is much safer than bitcoin, but the return will not be equal to bitcoin. And with altcoins too, it is not safer but the return it brings is much greater. I also like to invest in altcoins because it can help me make a good profit. That's an opportunity. Why pass it up?

a decrease in prices on the crypto market is something that is natural because it is impossible for the crypto market to continue to move up. the increasingly advanced behavior and mindset of investors makes FUD not have too big an impact on the crypto market. Apart from investing in bitcoin, I also invest in large altcoins such as BNB and ETH. I chose this large altcoin because for a long term investment and this altcoin is the safest investment.

I hold back from investing in altcoins during the bear market. Most altcoins are going down during this period so care need to be taking when making any kind of investment and also always remember the golden rule of investment that says don't invest what you can't afford to lose.

There’s no reason for me not to invest on good altcoins because they can give profit to me as well and many are really a promising project which is hard to ignore after all.

Having Bitcoin is fine but diversification are more advisable so don’t be afraid to invest with the altcoins, all you have to do is to analyze and know what altcoins to buy during this trend, top altcoins usually are the best one.

Personally, nothing holds me back from investing in altcoins. Just by doing some analysis and trusting my intuition, I sometimes buy some and wait a few months.

First of all, they are not stable and now you can buy altcoins if you have a free budget. In the near future I plan to buy Litecoin and not touch it until the halving until it is the only asset that is attractive to me.It seems to me that in the near future it is not worth waiting for an improvement in the situation on the market.

I am not investing to most altcoins because most of those projects were just became popular because of FUD.
Moreover, a lot of altcoin projects does not have any objective of helping people to achieve financial freedom centralized system that we currently have. Most also were just created for the mean of generating income and investments which sometimes lead of scamming.
Gladly, we have altcoins present nowadays which I think are worth investing at.

It depends on what kind of alt-coins we are talking about?
Because I don't really mind investing on some alt-coins, it is just that most of the newest alt-coins tends to fall easily and it is too risky that is why I am avoiding it.
Those are like high risk high return kind of investment, If I would risk my money I want it to be on the ones that has already been tested and had proven from time to time that they could withstand the crypto storms.
There's a small list of coins that I could recall, which are trading above the bottom that was last summer. They are LTC, DASH, ATOM. I think this list could be added by many other coins. So we should choose proven altcoins which, like bitcoin, have experienced bearish seasons.

The quickest way to make money right now in crypto is through altcoins and the fastest to lost money in crypto is through Alcoins, so choose one and be happy. I like some altcoins if you happen to buy some that are heavily invested by the OGs in crypto, they pump them hardly and if you that luck and buy during their presales or ICOs, you will feel like always buying altcoins forever but the problem is that if you are not lucky and buy the ones the OGs decide to dump, you will hate your self for buying altcoins, altcoins can give you nice profit but believe they can e deadly.

What's holding me back from investing in altcoins is the deeper downturns that can happen because another drop in the price of bitcoin could cause more altcoins to go down as well. Even some of the altcoins have experienced a deeper decline than before. That is the risk of investing in altcoins and you must be able to prepare yourself if you still want to invest in altcoins.

And for now, I think investing in bitcoin will be safer than in altcoins because even if the price goes down again, it will surely return to its previous high. And the price of bitcoin still can reach its highest price again.
