All problems are human problems, even the religion ones.

In medieval times church [Christian] and state were so fused, you couldn't divide them on a hair breadth. Guess what happened then? Enlightenment happened.... lol  Cheesy Scientific breakthrough after breakthrough. So church authority diminished as science showed flaws in church [Christian] worldview. State gradually became sole official tax collector (because of separation of state and church) (but not solely in actuality; church continued as well (but now on its own), more cunningly, I would say). Church "authority" kept on diminishing as science kept on progressing more and more.

The God-of-the-Gap type of belief system is in grave danger if you ask me. Better revolutionize God concept, and thereby revolutionize spirituality and piety than cling to something that will never ever be the same again - thankfully, I might add.

Actually, it is science that is in grave danger.

Science has produced many of the conveniences of life... through scientific engineering, of course. We would like science to remain so that it can produce many more good things for us.

Science is at its pinnacle, however, and beginning to crumble. Why? Simply because scientists had no way to disprove God, and the more they tried, the more they proved His existence. Scientists don't talk about this very much. But the fact is, the more science attempts to discover the great, hidden wonders of the universe, the more they prove the existence of God.

This is why science has turned to theory. In science theory, scientists put together a bunch of science facts (and sometimes non-facts) as a new way to look at the combination of facts. Then they develop a conclusion about the theory. Often this conclusion suggests that the theory is fact, even though it is not proven to be fact.

People are seeing through this science deception. They are realizing that often the so-called science fact is based on what the scientists would like rather than on the truth. Graham Hancock is one of those who has discovered this in the field of archaeology. Donald E. Scott, Ph.D., and many others are finding out that stars are electrical in nature, and not atomic. Brian Cox has shown that Quantum Mechanics is pure probability, and that it can give no proven answers answers to anything alone, because it can give completely contradicting answers to everything. And there are many more.

Science as we know it is breaking down as the source for all knowledge. Why? Because many famed scientists have built and explained science according to their hopes and dreams rather than according to the truth.

Interesting how the cash of the poor always ends up in the coffers of the religion keepers - the sophisticated wealthy ones who 'act' as gods themselves with their insatiable lust for more and more, while preying on the emotions of the 'lost' poor and draining them till all is gone and they die.

In America, among Christian religions, money is not generally taken from the poor by force. Rather, the poor donate it to God, to continue the work of spreading God's word. This doesn't mean that the money is always used in a right way. But the point is that God's Word is spread, and along with it, salvation. God rewards the poor who give, in all kinds of ways for their generosity and love. And, they will end up with eternal life, which is way more important.

Those who spread Gods Word directly - the religious leaders - are doing a great and wonderful work. They deserve to get paid just like anyone else who works. And since this work is saving souls for eternal life, it is the best work there is, and should be rewarded accordingly. It's too bad that some religious leaders are drawn away towards the things of wealth and this life, and start to use the wealth improperly. If they don't change, they will be punished for this, by God.

Ah, that's right. For you everything is a religion, isn't it? Jobs, philosophies, sports, habits -- anything anyone spends time on is a religion to you.

Can you even name some belief or idea that can't fit your concept of a religion? I can't.

Religious people like to make false analogies... like the coca-cola can having a creator means humans must have a creator... no it doesn't

I don't even understand the part about, "Could it be that the atheist can't find god for the same reason a thief can't find a policeman?"

That's an even worse analogy... I don't understand why a thief would have trouble finding a policeman... and nobody has "found god"... atheist or theist... god is very good at hide and seek... he's the best... he's been hiding since before time, and nobody has managed to find him

Enjoy your luck to be alive like if you had a chance on a trillion of quadrillions to be born, since those were more or less your odds.
There is no such thing as luck and odds. Everything was caused by something else according to the mandates of whatever caused it to be the way that it is.

Every particle and wave of energy in the universe acts as a reaction from something else acting on it. And the something-else acted as it did because of yet some other thing acting on it, etc., all the way back to the Beginning.

Everything operates by cause and effect. There is no random, odds, or luck.

Make the most of life like if it was a single drop of water tumbling on your lips on an infinite desert.
And the best way to do this is to seek the Creator Who set all the cause and effect actions in motion. When you seek Him, He will reward you for looking for the truth of Him. He will let you find Him when you seek Him with all your heart.

Value every day of it as if you were on a death row waiting for your turn, because you are; you just have a wonderful cell.
And do it by seeking the Creator... the One who made everything and upholds it through cause and effect.

Life is scientifically impossible, except that it is here. Even so, the resurrection from death will be made possible by the Creator, the One who made this impossible-to-exist life in the first place.

You think your real life is going to start with your death? Really?

From death, better expect nothing more than nothing, eternal.

Repent, believers, turn atheists, before is too late!

Repent, you atheism believers, and look at the fact that science proves God exists. Call to God, and He will answer you. Join with the Christian believers to be raised by God to life everlasting. Do it now, because if you die, you will not be able to change yourself to faith in God afterward, and eternal life will be lost to you.

Since, this time, the post at least had some sense and can suggest my post wasn't accurate, I'll add this:

The term Assembly of God (Congregation of God on the King James translation) doesn't mean nation or people of Israel.

When the Torah wants to designate the people of Israel calls it Assembly of Israel (for instance, Joshua 8:35; 1 Kings 8:14; Deuteronomy 31:30), not Assembly of God.

The Torah uses the term Assembly of God with the meaning of saved ones: "You have come to the assembly of God's firstborn children, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God himself, who is the judge over all things. You have come to the spirits of the righteous ones in heaven who have now been made perfect" (Hebrews 12:23; New Living Translation); or "To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect" (Hebrews 12:23; King James).

Moreover, Deuteronomy 23:3, says that the "An Ammonite or Moabite shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD", because "they hired against thee Balaam the son of Beor of Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse thee" (Deuteronomy 23:4). But "the LORD thy God turned the curse into a blessing unto thee, because the LORD thy God loved thee" (Deuteronomy 23:5).

So, god blesses and loves the Israelites, but not the Ammonite or Moabite. They can never enter the Assembly of God. They will go to hell.

The same is said explicitly on Ezekiel 25:2 "Son of man, set your face against the Ammonites and prophesy against them." and Ezekiel 25:7 "therefore I will stretch out my hand against you and give you as plunder to the nations. I will wipe you out from among the nations and exterminate you from the countries. I will destroy you, and you will know that I am the LORD.'"

Therefore, god will destroy the Ammonite (and Moabite). They won't be saved and will go to hell.

Since this was the meaning about these fellows, of course, the same applied to bastards/people born from a forbidden marriage up to the tenth generation.

This interpretation is confirmed by the practice of excommunicating Jews that refused to divorce their foreign wifes (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interfaith_marriage_in_Judaism#In_the_Bible).

The same can be concluded from Nehemiah 10: 29 and 30 ("bind themselves with a curse" to "not to give our daughters in marriage to the peoples around us or take their daughters for our sons") or from Malachi 2:11.

Of course, the rule of the ten generations wasn't applied. They would have to be crazy to apply it. But that was the good book rule.

No doubt, currently, this interpretation isn't consensual. Some call the Assembly of God a kind of political or religious body and not the saved chosen ones, in order to try to avoid the natural (terrible) and traditional sense of this rule.

But those are modern reinterpretations of terrible rules.

In any case, it's consensual that Assembly of God doesn't mean the Israelites.

But I'm going to be more polite and assume that the post was determined by ignorance, not dishonesty.

On the enlargement by Jesus of salvation to all believers, Jews laugh out and say all Christians will burn on hell for believing on a false prophet.

And, nevertheless, the Old Testament is part of the bible, accepted by Christians, so they have to acknowledge these terrible statements that were adopted and even partly applied during centuries before Jesus in the name of the same god.

So, what is an Ammorite or Moabite? If you leave the nation, drop the practices, set your mind to seek God, take up the practices of Israel, and totally forsake anything Ammorite or Moabite, you are not an Ammonite or Moabite. Consider the book of Ruth. Ruth was a Moabitess, yet King David was her great-grandson. If you think she wasn't saved, you are totally missing the thing that brings about salvation... faith.

God is seeking those who worship Him in spirit and truth. Salvation doesn't depend on genetics.

Saint Paul says there will come a time when all Israel will come in, meaning, that Israel has turned away from God in their rejection of their Messiah, who is Jesus.

The O.T. exists. Are Christians supposed to deny that fact? The story of how God prepared Israel as a nation for the coming of Jesus, the Messiah, is there for all to accept. The moral law is for all to accept because all people are still people. The directives for Israel found in the O.T. ceremonial and governmental laws are for Israel and for those who want to do them. Christians are not required to do O.T. ceremonial and governmental laws.

So what's the story with the old and new testement then?  If your following the new one then aren't you following the wrong one since its been edited loads of times by random people who have decided what they want to change?  Surely the original is the most historically accurate?

The Bible is God's Word to mankind telling about salvation. God has seen to it that His Word is accurate. If you can find some of the originals, we would be interested. The best we might have is a few scraps from some of the originals of the New Testament. But we are not sure, and probably we don't.

Cool

I see.  I thought they found the whole old testament intact in some cave and then at a later date just decided to edit it to not sound so bad and so wrote the new testament.  But your Saying theres only a few pages and so most must be made up?  I will need to Google this.

Nope. That's not what I am saying. And that isn't the way it is. In fact, it is just the opposite.

The Hebrew nation, the Hebrews/Israelites/Jews are some of the most stubborn people around. The scribes among them copied the O.T. extremely accurately from generation to generation, partially because of their stubbornness. The cave findings from more than 2,000 years ago show that they were extremely accurate scribes over the last 2,000 years. There is no reason to believe that they were less accurate scribes before that.

Since the majority of Christians in the first hundred years after the N.T. was written, were Jews, the same accuracy applies to the N.T., since they were the ones who got it going, and who kept it accurate, even though they lost their status as a nation.

Of course, after the printing press, it was reasonably easy to keep it accurate.

speaking of old- and new testaments. It looks to me Jews and Arabs stick with the first 5 or so of the 'old testament' even in varied form, altered and adjusted to their liking, while the Christians like the 'new testament' guite a lot since this is where Jesus came to save the day. What is interesting about all 3 of these religions - Judaism, Islam and Christianity is if you look at the males in these religions they all have these head coverings on; they do it because they are exceptionally exclusive. That is also the reason why it is so difficult to reason with these people - they know it all, and only they do and only they are right all of the time.

It's not a question of hate. Just dislike.

Reasons to dislike religion? That's a hard one... having to choose...

Let me check again the good book... I guess I could just open it on any blind page and I would find a reason.

But let's pick a good one:

"No one born of a forbidden marriage nor any of their descendants may enter the assembly of the LORD, not even in the tenth generation." or
"If a person is illegitimate by birth, neither he nor his descendants for ten generations may be admitted to the assembly of the LORD"
Deuteronomy 23:2 (check different translations here: http://biblehub.com/deuteronomy/23-2.htm)

Yes, you read it well. If up to about the year 1700, one of your ascendants was born out of marriage or from a forbidden marriage, you are going straight to hell, no matter what all of them did after or you did in your entire life.

Well, up to the tenth generation, you have 1024 ascendants. If only one of them was a bastard, you are nailed.

Moreover, since the text isn't clear ("not even in the tenth generation"), you might not be off the hook even if you have ten clean generations. No where the text says that at the eleven generation everything will be alright again.

Good luck.

Thats me totally  screwed then,  oh well i might as well go out and do some raping and pillaging since I'm going to hell anyways. I don't know why they even changed from the old testament,  thats what originally written so surely that's what we should follow.  I mean its outrageous that I'm not even allowed to beat my slaves anymore.

In God's sight, even one sin is enough for damnation. And we all have sinned many times. This means that you have a chance to get to Heaven through Jesus salvation, just like all the other people who believe. Turn to God for salvation through Jesus, now, while you have the chance... and avoid the damnation.

Cool

So what's the story with the old and new testement then?  If your following the new one then aren't you following the wrong one since its been edited loads of times by random people who have decided what they want to change?  Surely the original is the most historically accurate?

The Bible is God's Word to mankind telling about salvation. God has seen to it that His Word is accurate. If you can find some of the originals, we would be interested. The best we might have is a few scraps from some of the originals of the New Testament. But we are not sure, and probably we don't.
