I don't think atheists hate religion, I think they hate having others beliefs forced upon them
No thats fine, what others hate is imposing hypocritic actions thats bounded with their beliefs like killing people that are gay because they think gays are not people, It just amaze me because homosexuality is observed over 450 species and being homophobic exist in only 1 specie and that's us. Add those people degrading a woman when she's a prostitute.
This 2 are still happening in our generation because of religion.

Great example is this one

Atheists often criticize religion, so a perception develops that atheism must be anti-religious — but this is not quite true. Atheism is just the absence of beliefs in gods and can thus occur inside or outside the context of religion. Thus, an atheist might be devoutly religious, devoutly anti-religious, or completely apathetic with regards to religion — exactly as with theists. It all depends on the individual and what ideas, beliefs, or principles they have aside from atheism.

The previous umpteen times this information has been posted has been met by derision by a small but vocal group of pro-religious posters.

Apparently that noisy few think they understand atheism better than atheists -- I guess they know what you think better than you do.

So why would we think that we know anything about atheism or other religion except that somebody who DOES know tells us?

There have been so many false prophets, claims of divinity, and books written throughout the centuries... how do you know that yours is the correct one?

What if the ancient Sumerians had the correct god(s)?

How do you know the Hindus are wrong?

I hear-tell the Muslims also have a holy book, and a divine messenger... how do you know they are wrong?

Satan is a role in the Torah.

Is very well possible that satan the demon does not exist: in ancien hebrew the term satan was assigned to entities that needs to induce into temptetion someone.

According to this translator posted in the video it is very possible that satan the demon does not exist.

Best regards.

As I have mentioned before, when you dig into the circumstances surrounding how the Bible came about, the info that it has, the nation of Israel, the prophesies that have been fulfilled, you will find that there isn't any way for the Bible to exist as it does without Divine intervention. No other writing can claim this truthfully.

Actually, if you had really studied religion as much as you say you have, you would know this.

For me i just dont get it. It is just our imagination or consciousness thats trying to talk to us and people interpreted as divine occurance.
yeah everyone has their own thoughts. had his own opinion. back to the person who did think about it. but, when we respect it will not happen.

But none of us knows this. We feel comfortable in our lives, but we really know very little.

For example. We have no clue about the position of every electron and proton in the tip of our finger with relation to the position of every other one existing there. So why would we think that we know anything about atheism or other religion except that somebody who DOES know tells us?

Atheists are religious people, too. It is just that their religion is different from theism.

Explain how "I don't believe in a magic zombie in the sky" is religion.

From Dictionary.com at http://www.dictionary.com/browse/religion?s=t:
Quote
religion
[ri-lij-uh n]

noun
1. a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, especially when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.

2. a specific fundamental set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a number of persons or sects:
the Christian religion; the Buddhist religion.

3. the body of persons adhering to a particular set of beliefs and practices:
a world council of religions.

4. the life or state of a monk, nun, etc.:
to enter religion.

5. the practice of religious beliefs; ritual observance of faith.

6. something one believes in and follows devotedly; a point or matter of ethics or conscience:
to make a religion of fighting prejudice.

7. religions, Archaic. religious rites:
painted priests performing religions deep into the night.

8. Archaic. strict faithfulness; devotion:
a religion to one's vow.

Number 1 in the definition. If your set of “beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe,” does not include, but expressly excludes, “a magic zombie in the sky,” it fits this part of the definition.

Number 2 in the definition. If you adhere to basic atheist dogma, then you have “a specific fundamental set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a number of persons or sects.”

Number 3 in the definition. If you belong to a “body of persons adhering to a particular set of beliefs and practices” regarding atheism, you fit religion in this part of its definition.

Number 4 in the definition. In general you would probably not be a monk or nun. But depending on how “strenuously” or devotedly you practice your atheism beliefs, this one might fit you in principle, even though you would not generally be called a monk or nun.

Number 5 in the definition. This fits you since you religiously respond in a negative way to many posts that suggest God is real.

Number 6 in the definition. You seem to believe in and follow atheism devotedly. Atheism seems to be “a point or matter of ethics or conscience” for you.

Number 7 in the definition. If you have any particular superstitious actions that you do which pertain to atheism, archaic as it is, it might fit your circumstances.

Number 8 in the definition. You seem to follow atheism quite devotedly. So, even though this one is archaic, it might fit you.

Note that nobody follows all of these parts of the definition completely all the time in his religion. Many extremely religious people follow only one or two of them, and they are still very religious.

Note, also, that you may not be a strongly religious atheist. But you seem to be quite strong, because you are continually sticking up for it by posting in favor of it, and against God.

You may be way more of a religious person than you think.

Were you talking to me with this post? I mean, it followed one of my posts, but it doesn't seem to be directed at anyone.

Just in case it was meant for me, I'll play your game with you a little.

snip (waste of space)

Oh my, very clever!  showing off your brilliant quoting skills there bud?
Obviously, from your snip, quoting skills isn't something that you have.

so how long did you spend on that waste of a post?
I'm way more dedicated to non-waste than you.

so you have never heard of "let there be light" huh? never heard of Yahweh?
What difference does it make to you. Since you obviously don't believe in Him, He's going to have to make Himself real to you. But, He'll do it in His own time and in His own way. And if you don't wake up to Him in His gentle calling, you WILL wake up to Him in your destruction.

you are either a liar or dont read the bible or both. or just a lousy at being sarcastic.
Aaaaah. I'm so shocked that some little sweet person like you would call me a liar... especially without explaining what you are talking about.    Shocked

your snappy answers show zero  originality and more importantly dont address my points.
You have points? Oh, I see them now. The tips of your devil horns.

and make you look rather foolish. but then again  every post you make does that.
Well, thank you for your constructive criticism. What's for lunch?

you just keep babbling your religious bullshit like this gem...
But you don't have any way of contradicting it, now, do you... other than to blab stupidity, right?

"cause and effect is part of the scientific proof that god exists" LMFAO!
You were programmed to laugh, by complex cause and effect.

and quoting darth vader now are we?
So you actually understood a little of what I posted!!!

you used to amuse me with your word salads. they are boring now.

Well your whole life is boring. So what's new?

I am an atheist and I actually like religion. I just hate the misuse of religion for violent/radical acts. That was never the intention of any of the founders of the big religions.

Thats the dark side of theism, and that event are the that never been revealed in public. The reason many people think theism has a good iamge in all side of it.

You also should mention the untransparent church tax which makes the Christian churches in rich European countries one of the biggest landowner. All this secrecy is outdated in my opinion.

Wanna own land? Become a church.    Cool

So I see 2 threads of why islam hates people or why people hate Islam. I dont see the point of such a mundane debate based on religion any debate for or against religion would be stupid. Either you are stupid to believe what a prophet / god / divine entity said or you are stupid enough to believe you can change the minds of the bleak minded people who follow such a prophet / god / divine entity.

But since its fun let me initiate my own brand of 'why do' topic.

WHY DO ATHEISTS (like me) HATE RELIGION ?

Seriously what has to happen in a person's life for them to seriously give up hope on the one true everlasting brand (of religion) which their ancestors have followed for generations.

Everyone has their own story even I have mine, so lets hear some of it.

Hate religion? No. Hate the hypocrisy? Definitely YES.

Tho I'm an atheist, I still believe its good for people to have beliefs or priciples in life.  But when you impose your beliefs on others, that's when it becomes bad.
Or more like imposing hypocritic belief?
