Nowadays people have become more aware of the scams in the ico space even though we still have a partial pump in that space. However, most people were not really interested in the problems ICOs were looking to solve, they were scammed because they only wanted to flip their investments.
As far as I heard, the ICO Scam raised over $ 1 billion. Why did people invest in these ICO? Do you think this situation has changed now?
I also wonder what is the project which has collected so much money , but I can say that there are projects that are well organized and the team is open but anyway the project is cast and not doing anything that most of the projects does
Obviously, they invest because they don't think it's fraudulent.
No one will invest in something if they know its a fraud.
They don't think it is a scam for many reasons.

So they end up making hasty decisions without doing due dilligence.
I would say that any reasonable person who does their fact checking and research can easily avoid scams.

It sounds made up. In investing, it is not wise to base your trading decisions on made up numbers.

If they knew that these are scam sites, they will not invest on this kind of ICO's but unfortunately, they are good at imitating good ICO and so these scammers have been able to perpetuate their scheme or plan, but now investors are wiser now.

If they know that the ICO is scam, they've wouldn't invest at the first place. That's quite simple, also without the proper research, investors are mainly investing in fraudulent ICO's, its really advisable to study first if we are an investor, or have someone who is expert to tell us in what project is good to invest.
People are usually too naive and believe beautiful stories behind nonsense projects. (Ex: Bitconect, OneCoin etc).

Why people invested. Because they wanted to earn. We considered the project interesting and invested money in it. Yes, the scammers need to do something. Difficult situation.
Well not all investor have knowledge about this world (crypto world) they just came for easy money. They still think if we join an ICO we will get a lot of money from it but in the reality is most of ICO now are scam only few that legit but still unknown by others.

Because there are a lot of ICO who cheat investors this year, hopefully next year there will be strict regulations to crack down on fraudulent ICO. Definitely, also there's some people that are dumb enough to believe strangers they just met so that could be counted as stupidity.However if people who lacks research know that the ICO is fraudulent they wont invest there, it's all about gaining information.
