Yes, it depends on the view of every single person. Some people say it's an investment and some say it's not. I think it's in the middle. Because if you invest you have already money and when you do a Bounty you have none. So I think yes, you invest time, but not money.
This time can be seen as an investment.

totally agee with your idea. in that case, times look like a kind of investment.

Time is money and some people will even argue with some people, that time is more valuable than money, so that if I can spend my time to fulfill certain tasks to promote a project, I believe I will get a high profit for a reward that I spend.

you maybe miss understanding.doing bounty doesn't need money.only need some effort and time.but doesn't mean it's not an investment.
I doing bounty but I don't sell my bounty reward immediately.if I see their project have a good future I will hold them.that's my investment.

I must say it is a very good thinking of yours yes money is very important thing but it doesnot mean that it is enough thing time and energy which we are using for bounties or any other kind of work is also have same importance and value.

You are telling the truth. I myself choose interesting projects for investment and besides the fact that I invest my money, I join a bounty campaign to promote the project that I like.

my thoughts are the same as what you are saying now I am following a bounty campaign to get a little reward from what I do, even though it takes a lot of time and thought

Of couse I do agree but always remember if bounty hunters really helping the project for marketing then it will consider as investment lots of bounty hunters here having no ethics. They are ready to steal others works and try to show them as their own.

To some extent, the bounty is an investment, but in this case we invest not money but time that could be spent on any other class. For some, the bounty is just a hobby, for others it is the main work. Personally, I think the bounty's a hobby, but I've invested 3 hours of free time a day, which is considered very valuable.

Even though some of them would ask you to invest part of your money, I'd rather stay away from them, only chose the ones that require as investment your time, generally the tasks that you have to do aren't that hard so the risks on wasting time is kind of low.
