I think so, maybe you can see the ICO pile in this forum is also very easy for them to get money from the token ethereum built to earn big money, but I think to replace bitcoin I think it's quite difficult for ethereum

Why some people want the Ethereum to over come Bitcoin in the near future? Is it because they make profit from ETH or what?
I don't know who wants that to happen, can you tell me how many people want that to happen? Cheesy

But it won't happen anyway because the availability of ethereum is unlimited so it never can have demand as much of bitcoin do.

This change of positions want people who know little about crypto. Perhaps they hope that Ethereum will soar in price, as Bitcoin once did.
People do not understand what Bitcoin is for the crypto market.

Simple: They have ETH Smiley They all missed the opportunity to buy Bitcoin but it's not too late to buy and mine Ether. (Actually mining phase will be over in September, so it's not a good time to start ETH mining)

Also, Ether has a big advantage: Smart Contracts. It's possible to create your own token(s) (needs some developer skills but it's not that hard) and list them on Etherdelta or other exchanges...

Yes, I am also interested in this question.
In my opinion, bitcoin is our future, so we should hold bitcoin instead of ETH or other tokens.

They hold and invested to ETH that's the main reason why they keep on talking that way.

Don't you remember when cryptokitties flooded their network and they had high fees?

Personally, i don't worry much about fees. Now with segwit and lightning, everything will be much cheaper.
They are just reasoning it out and if there will be congestion to ETH's network the same thing goes for them, yeah I remember those cryptokitties.

Some of the bounty hunters using eth for transfering of their token. And ethereum blockchain is much faster and low fees rather than bitcoin and some of the ico project circulate in ethereum so the popularity of the ethereum increase because of the bounty campaigns.

Maybe because they are bitter in bitcoin and decided to go to ETH instead and since they felt that they can get successful on ETH because they earned from it they would support it instead of bitcoin. But they know for sure that bitcoin will still be the best coin ever even if they are earning from ETH and they cannot overcome BTC.

To be honest, I believe in the progress of ETH more than in BTC. BTC is popular just because it was first, but in comparison to ETH, BTC is not very functional and not used so widely.
Additional point to ETH because of Vitalik  Grin

I think because it costs much less to buy ETHEREUM and people might feel there is more chance for it to go up more in multipliers than Bitcoin. Also the fact that many coin offerings and token sales run off of the ETHEREUM platform, it gives more use cases for ETHEREUM holders to buy and hold, or to use for buying into these initial coin offering ventures. Businesses now are utilizing the ETHEREUM platform to raise capital and this has introduced a lot more new people into crypto currencies at large. Ethereum has done a good job for more mass adoption to come through the blockchain channels.

Why some people want the Ethereum to over come Bitcoin in the near future? Is it because they make profit from ETH or what?

I think its very short cited to be extra bullish on eth to the point they want bitcoin to fail. If Ethereum goes up in price and succeeds it will probably signal a new "alt season" which to me is no more than pure speculation and gambling. If you look at the fundamentals bitcoin is still head and shoulders above the rest, just based on its network effects and the fact it hasn't started in a bootstrapped, artificial way!

In my opinion, BTC is worth more than ETH because of its stability while ETH has owned its technology so this is also good to go with ETH. Everyone has own mentality and thinking to observe which coin or token is suitable for him. Let them go what they want to choose..

Why some people want the Ethereum to over come Bitcoin in the near future?
Who are these people? Those who are keep on asking repeatedly if ETH is possible to take over bitcoin soon?

Is it because they make profit from ETH or what?
Yes, they make profit from pumping ETH and if their token was created through smart contract it will cause ETH to pump so they are saying it so.

Maybe they invested more on Ethereum. Smiley
Exactly, i.e I hold more bitcoin so I'll focus talking to people about bitcoin.

Its simple because they want to make profit, eth still cheap consider to btc and they hope one day eth price could be the same with btc, so they will buy a bulk now and enjoy the result in the end, that is the dream, but they don't compare the eth usage and all the other aspects, its still yoo early to compare btc and eth, even the purpose and the usage both coins are different

I think this is because ETH is cheaper than bitcoin, and people who are trading ethereum wants to be rich as those, who trade bitcoin Wink

I don't know why people say so much about those Bitcoin transaction fees.

A simple international SWIFT costs about 45 USD and 2-3 business days.

People do those SWIFTS and never complained. Now bitcoin offers a more secure method, which costs 3-4 USD and 20 minutes, and people are crying about "high fees" "old technology"
WTF?

Ethereum is cheaper because their network has not the same volume as BTC.
Don't you remember when cryptokitties flooded their network and they had high fees?

Personally, i don't worry much about fees. Now with segwit and lightning, everything will be much cheaper.

Maybe they invested more on Ethereum. Smiley  It makes sense though, at around $700 right now. Think of the windfall an Ethereum investor would get if it overtakes Bitcoin, which is currently valued more than 13x that of ETH.

Exactly, those people who missed out on the Bitcoin ship wants to get those crazy returns through Ethereum. What they don't realize is that the altcoin prices are still tied to that of Bitcoin and which ever direction the price of Bitcoin goes would be the direction the altcoin prices go too. Also Ethereum has reached a high market cap now and it wont be easy to pump it to crazy levels like before.
