Many ico are failed bcause many ico appear and the important one is how to win because many competitors. Many things make ico failed because the investors is not interested in the project. So that it is difficult for Ico to reach it's goal.
Not all projects are successful.
Projects that do not sell tokens, projects can not afford maintenance and dev teams can not continue.

There are too many ICO causes to fail, but As we usually see in this forum, on other social media sites and even on ICO rating sites, there are many ICO's that are not successful in their Token sales period, I think they usually fail, because they lack the investors who can support their platforms with large fund investments, poor team management and a lack of major partnerships with other companies.
Because many were mindless cashgrabs and once they had the money they didn't really have any idea of getting to the end product. Notice how many ICO's have shocking websites, then once they get funding they "rebrand". Such a joke, many are just outright stealing, I'd practice extreme caution before touching an ICO.
There are many cryptocurrencies that have failed prior to raising money through an ICO and many that have failed after raising money through an ICO. This is similar to many technology startups, as most will fail.
Many ICO fail for quite different reasons, but mostly just weak projects prevail, or projects that at some point did something not in a timely manner.

Now there is a lot of ICO and many do not have enough funds to develop their projects, even if they are promising, because the price of the crypto currency is falling and the number of investors ready to risk their money decreases.
ICOs fail for different reasons , The main one however is the projevc, If the project the ICO is bringing to the market is of low quality then there are slight chances that the ICO will succeed. If the product is not accepted or adopted by the users, i will have no market hence become obsolete, if the project plan is not clearly stated too then there is nowhere the project is headed to

most of them is they dont reach even their minimum goal for the token sale. its really hard to gather investors form them since there's a lot of ico that has being launch lately.

Some reasons are they don't hit their target maybe because they are lack of advertisement. They are also luck of some investment or partnership through investors, or maybe they are also one of those scammers out there so be careful about what you are joining. 
Some may just be scams from the beginning, others may, because they didn't reach their target
Some ICOs fail because their mission is not clear and some projects are already implemented with the same goal as their ICO that is already successful. Some ICOs just copy the idea of others and when the people knew that they are just copy cats, people wouldn't want to invest in it resulting to a failure. The ICO may just be a scam because they don't have a unique idea.
Some ICOs that are legit fail because they weren't able to attract more investors due to the lack of marketing strategy and the team is not that active when it comes to communication to the supporters of its community. The ICOs goal should be understandable in layman's term so that investors would be able to understand what they are hoping for and if the project is viable.

There are many reasons to cause the failure of lots of ICO. First, almost ICO when develope their community and mobilize capital, they usually give a ideal future for their project but not feasible in the real life. Beside, they have not strong investment funds to support them. Here, I don't mention to scam ICo projects
