Does it make sense to believe that Bitcoin could one day be replaced by another cryptocurrency, that is, a cryptocurrency that really does make Bitcoin obsolete?

I think so. but for now it will not be replaced. perhaps if its really out of date and most of the people are now interested in bitcoin, time will
come that will think of another cryptocurrency that will replaced bitcoin. people will get tired of it as long as they are using it for a long time and they will long for another new currency

I don't think bitcoin could be replaced by any other cryptocurrencies. Yes, there may be altcoins or other e-currencies rising but when we say bitcoin, it is what it is. Bitcoin is still processing since the year 2009 (if I am not mistaken), and to exchange something else from it will be impossible. Somehow, it could manage to have competitors or rise of competitions but what bitcoin have showed us made us stay on it.

Yes, that's 100% possible to happen. As of now bitcoin is the number one in the cryptocurrencies, but we can't assure that after 10 years and above that bitcoin will still be the number one and could not be replaced. Technology is arising everyday and it's getting stronger and stronger, so that means it's very possible to happen that bitcoin will be replaced by another cryptocurrency one day.

Now, a lot of altcoin came out, but I saw no potential. In the near future, perhaps 5-10 years bitcoin will still dominate.

I dont know if theres a day that bitcoin will be replaced by other cryptocurrency. Because its really hard to predict. I think even theres a lot of promising crypto out there that could be alternative to bitcoin but i dont think that they can surpass bitcoin. For me bitcoin will still grow in the future and even it reached it peak no other could reach it.

Most likely this is possible, but not in the near future for sure. But it is possible that with time, when the amount of bitcoin becomes smaller and the price of it increases, bitcoin will become an even stronger cryptocurrency. Therefore, we can not think of anything beforehand.

Bitcoin's price is very high now, its about $11741. I am not sure that other cryptocurrency can reach that poin in near time. Bitcoin still become the number one coin for investors. Another cryptocurrencies need their own users comunity(network) that keep grow. All isn't about technology but also management.

If Im honest I dont see it being replaced soon, but in the longrun I think it will be replaced. Bitcoin will hopefully stay as a way to store wealth though (digital gold) but another currency with faster transactions and lower fees might overcome BTC at some point. Blockchain technology is real and definitely here to stay!

maybe all can happen. but right now I dont see any potential for altcoin that can be brighter. maybe 2-10 years ahead there will be a potent altcoin emerging and bringing a brilliant idea with super technology.

- I agree with you, this can certainly happen because the technology is growing stronger every day, although now we still can not find the altcoin that owns the potential equal to bitcoin but I believe in the future, it will appear. I also do not know exactly we will need to wait for 10 years or so but sooner or later bitcoin will be replaced, that is a rule, kings always had their heyday but does not mean it will last forever, their era will soon collapse because the talents are born in the future, hopefully we can see that happen

I think it can't be replaced , unless it starts failing but blockchain wont let this to happen that's why it is decentralized.Aside, bitcoin performed well on the past 4 years up to now so there's no reason for bitcoin to be replaced. But if and only if it fails , i see ethereum as the next crypto trend as it valued for about $500, and easy to use like bitcoin.
Everything has its own end and so does bitcoin. When the bitcoin comes to its end where all the people are already leaving bitcoin because of its bad characteristics then it will not be a good option to stay and it will be replaced by another cryptocurrency that might be the best replacement for bitcoin which can continue the era of cryptocurrencies.

Money doesn't have its own end, then bitcoin won't have this end as well. I disagree with you. Bitcoin is already perfect and there is no reason to kill it. Being a faster or better coin won't mean you can replace bitcoin easily.

For me it depends in a cryptocurrency if they can replace bitcoin on its position, but it's not too easy to replace it, because people are predicting bitcoin for the future and the price is still going higher, so it depends to a crypto if they can.

I think so, but currency as we know should in time become obsolete as well. The future isn't all that predictable, just look at how much it's changed in mere decades.

The singularity.

Personally, I'd like to see more energy efficient coins at the helm.

I don't think this is going to happen in the next future, bitcoin is the reserve of value for the entire crypto world.
Sure it has some problems to resolve, scalability foremost, but I don't think programmers will not be able to fix it.

Bitcoin is the most powerful and the leading cryptocurrency in the world now. But as they said, nothing last forever, there will be another digital currency that will produce in the future that is better and more functional than the bitcoin we love right now.
