no it was a bit of a gimmick but its now gone but shall forever remain in crypto history i'm sure.

Yeah, but as I said, it could die easily if completely abandoned by devs.

I really do not know the future of Dogecoin as it has remain perpetually low in value since it's advent. I believe that the coin was minted in Billions and the supply to the market is much and that explain the low value it attracts all the time. I see it still hanging in because of wide usage by many patrons.

I think Doge started as a spoof, back in the day - but turned out to be more serious project than anybody thought it would.
But it seems half abandoned by devs now?
I dont know...

I think dogecoin still has potential and still have a future, maybe the problem is because the total supply is too much, so dogecoin still has a future

I just bought Dogecoin for fun. Dogecoin was launched for Shiba fans. You should not hope it will raise.  Grin

I totally agree. Dogecoin is meant for a form of entertainment and for sharing and caring. It is not meant for flipping and want to get rich. The dev team have not been coming up with new updates but the community is still active and sharing even more.

Jack Palmer, the man behind DogeCoin said, Crypto markets are in the Bubble. Maybe will become worst than dot com bubble. Because of that, he left this dogecoin Project. Unless he come back again, and handle this dogeCoin, it will more added some value to Doge, and it will be have a future again.

I remember the good old days when dogecoin sponsored a NASCAR.  That was probably the peak.

Dogecoin has been my favorite alt coin for quite a long time. It serves as a good cryptocurrency for tipping others, as well as being a fun and inexpensive medium of exchange.

However, I'm worried what might happen to Dogecoin in the future, since it has been quite some time that no new version of the QT wallet has been mentioned, neither some innovation to keep it going for the long term.

It would become ideal for Dogecoin to add SegWit to its code, and gain traction if it gains acceptance from the miners. Then, if it manages to become the first cryptocurrency to accept the scalable solution, it could rise in popularity once more (not to mention that transaction will be near instantaneous).

Nevertheless, Dogecoin is a great cryptocurrency being inexpensive and relatively stable, making it a great way to tip others or send micropayments faster than BTC at a fraction of the cost.

Looking forward to your opinion. Wink

My candid opinion is no knows the future. Dogecoin can worth $1 in the future. Future deals with probability.

In my opinion Dogecoin ha bright future definately. Because Doge is surviving in the market since long time & always used by most of the traders to transfer the satoshis from one exchange to another exchange. After this bitcoin, the second no. is. It has a good team for working.

Before, I believe that this dogecoin has  a future but right now I don't think so because it has a really low price at the market but ofcourse we all know that market price changes but I still don't believe on dogecoin having future.

For me Dogecoin have not future. This coin never will be good investment because its price is not growing high so it can not give us any profit

This is the problem with most of you, its seems everyone is jumping to alt coins because of money, not because of purchasing goods.  This does not look very good.  Why does it have to be just a coin to investment, why not use an alt coin and its tech?

I think not, but its now worth something, but when dogecoin was made it was meant for a joke. So for me it has actually no future in this coin. Thats also why i converted my Dogecoins to btc.

I am not planning to invest further on dogecoin because of these reasons. I am currently investing in other coins who have a future.
