Vow, this is a fantasy beyond my imagination, I do not think that ETH can go beyond the BTC value. Currently the ETH price is only $ 200 and the BTC is $ 6400. How can that be achieved while they are far apart?
Ether has performed well in 2017, we may not say the same for 2018 but I do strongly believe ether will do well in 2019 but the idea that ether will pass bitcoin in price and value is totally false! Bitcoin remain the most valuable and the most popular Cryptocurrency!
I still believe that Bitcoin would be remained on top of the cryptos next year. Cryptos are equal at this moment because most of it are struggling due to the market downtrend. The market value of cryptos are proportionally falling and leaving the gap on their market value as it is therefore, the gap is still as big as before and it would give ethereum a hard time to cope up and take over.
In my opinion the ethereum will do that. Now eth is just most usable coin in market and between ICOs and investors. It will be new king.
I do not think that BTC can be overcome by ethereum. It certainly will not happen in 2019, I bet dollars against nuts...
In my opinion Ethereum will not be able to catch up with the cost and capitalization of bitcoin. In addition, I believe that no altcoin will not be able to overthrow the dominant coins from its rightful place.

Even in your wildest dream never think of that dude,ethereum will never overcome bitcoin because eth has no capacity in taking the positionIf there are coin that can do this,it may be bitcoin cash(though another impossible thing to happen)

Ether will not pass bitcoin in 2019 rather, Ethereum will benefit immensely from the success that bitcoin may have come 2019 and beyond. Bitcoin is still the most popular, most trusted cryptocurrency on the planet!

I am not sure it will happen,because ICOs dump eth to fund their development and btc is something what people hold

I don't think that ethereum can overtakes bitcoin in the coming years as bitcoin is so dominant in this technology and every downfall of bitcoin the ethereum can't take advantage on it as ETH will also affected as it go down with the bitcoin.
It could happen in 2029, but for the next 10 years ETH can never cross the BTC, ETH should face the growing altcoin today. The risk of ETH being overcome by NEO, EOS, XRP is enormous

that's a silly question how could the king of crypto currency be passed by altcoin, that is an impossible thing, i know the ethereum has a big potential but that is not enough to overtake BTC.

I dont think that Ethereum value can surpass the Bitcoin from now or in 2019. Some thinks that ethereum platform is much better than bitcoin platform, I think its true but we can denied the fact that bitcoin become the foundation of altcoins and also ethereum depends on the ups and down value of bitcoin.
I say no, Bitcoin will always becoming the king of cryptocurrency. Although Bitcoin growth has slowed down from Ethereum and both development teams on Bitcoin and the Ethereum network are facing the same issue, scalability.

Do you think it possible that ethereum will pass bitcoin in the future? I think ethereum will not pass bitcoin because supply is not the same and the gaps of price is big so it will be hard to ethereum to beat bitcoin. 
Thinking straight it will reach over half of Bitcoin by end of year 2019. Rumors said and i saw it on Cointelegraph and Crypto Briefing that plans are to Bitcoin go on Ethereum platform which is great for its project. Also knowing cycle is getting faster now with version 2 build.
No one can give an exact prediction about this I think. Bitcoin is a top coin in the crypto market and I don't ETH can replace it in 2019 Because according to my experience it's not possible quickly.
Right now, Ethereum got a bit far away from Bitcoin, so I have the feeling, that it is not going to happen in 2019. But we have been surprised some time in the past, so who knows.
Bitcoin is still one of the top coin in crypto world and no one can cross BTC easily I think. I don't think ETH can touch the BTC price in 2019
ETH can not overcome BTC because ETH price is much lower than BTC price. And many investors still prefer to use BTC as a traditional coin, over years BTC has always kept top one in the crypto market.
