Some ICO may die because as we know the world of crypto is a world of strong war and survive will be the winner then not how good a project but how long a company still survive in industry of blockchain. what we do now is support every ico who has the potential and innovation capable of projects developed over the next few years

ICO will be surviving until no one ever invest on those ICO. Because ICO is our and developer way to earn money (helping our life if there is any with their creative ideas and team).  I think every time when new year came up, this thread is keep existing.

We've finally reached 2018 and i don't see signs of ICO's stopping anytime soon. Crypto is a booming market, ICO in itself is not really scam, the problem is most ICO's are scams, so the legit ICO's suffer from the bad fame that the term ICO has gained due the amount of nonsensical tokens being released left and right.

Btw, just recently, Jon Matonis (the famous "Craig Wright is really satoshi" guy that went also to the big blocks camp) is now going to support an ICO..

So don't expect the trend to go down anytime soon because it's extremely lucrative for people with huge twitter followers to promote ICO's. Roger Ver is promoting ICO's pretty much all the time.

More and more countries pass laws to exclude the scam ICO .
It means that the number of ICO will grow with each passing year. I think ICO is quite normal and logical crypto phenomenon.
I have several times invested in projects  successfully. But as the bounty hunter had wasted a lot of time because of fraud.
I want ICO will developed and regulated by laws!

I hope it at least gets regulated so people have a place to turn to when it turns out to be a scam.

I do not see a reason why ICO should die at the moment. But I'm agree for the part that it should be regulated. If everyone start organizing ICOs then there will a lot of mass and difficult to find a good project among that mess.

The scenario you described is already very similar to the one we have experienced in the second half of 2017. While it has been kind of like a minefield for investors there have still been many very successful ICOs and more and more now are engaging in stricter KYC etc which can only be a good thing in my opinion. Many will argue it goes against the nature of cryptos but it allows them to operate within the laws and better protect those investors who do invest legitimately.

I don't think so. ICOs will come to the market more than ever. But the real problem is the quality of them. People need to work hard to find the real good ICOs and invest on them.

I sure hope not. I mean there are a lot of people that has been helped by joining ICO campaigns. That is why it is very important for us to have something to look forward to in terms of source of income. In addition, not only that ICOs reduce the unemployment rate, but the decrease of poverty as well because it helps people earn money.
Yes I think its not, though there are many ICO these days and the best thing that we could do is to search which is worthy and legit to invest. I agree it helps those in need people to earned by investing and to joined ico campaign. However, hope this year 2018 Ico's will not end yet to improve the service that make people benefits of.

We must focus on eleminating the SCAM coins instead of killing ICO. ICO is good and most of the good coins got this point with ICO. Solutions itself causes another problem, The SCAM.
The only solution is to educate people, they need to understand that crypto is not a easy get rich scheme, it's a risky investment but has a great potential.
What I have observed is that every year the entire market is growing so I am expecting we will surpass the success in the past year.

Yes its true people are focusing on working product before investing into ICO because of lots of scam whitepaper and fake website and portfolio people started look on working product atleast demo mode . Some ICO going forward and giving webinars . In 2018 ICO scammers will die not ICO's.

ICO is not dying in 2018. If there is any expectation at all concerning ICO, we are going to see more ICO coming to cryptocurrency market to raise fund. ICO is a brilliant way to raise fund for projecy that hitherto might been rejected by mainstream. What people do with ICO proceed is entirely different issue.

ICO will never die. This industry is just beginning to develop just like the crypto currency. I think that these projects will become better and there will be a society that will check the quality of new projects

That's right, I also think so, because we will probably see regulation by the state in the ICO. As far as I know, it is already underway, because there was no KYC procedure before, and now almost every project uses this procedure.

The first thing I looked in any Ico that I participated in and joined is the expertise of the people behind it, are they really real people, what are their expertise and how they are going to make it and the most important is reputation in their field, they should be real people.

Aside from that, it will be a good point to know if these minds behind the ICO's concept had already past experienced of projects where blockchain is involved. If they have already past project/s that went to success, that'll be big bonus in my opinion.

The crypto world is just starting to gain momentum. Will appear new business models.  I do not think that the do not end of the ICOs will occur in 2018,  I do believe that their growth do not even slow down this year.

I think the ico will change into something better than yesterday and there is a regulation to control the ico so people won't be afraid to get lost their money. I think the dev will make a different approach for their investor so the investor could feel comfortable, safe while their invest the money. I am sure that there is a new innovation from the dev that could attract more investor to the project so they can reach another success in the future.

I think that ICO in 2018 maybe not die but the number of all ICO projects will be small.  now we can see a lot of ICO is not promising and they do not have the funds to build a project.  can say the number of ICO will decrease this year. just my guess only.
