A new government came into power, and enacted a law that nobody should gamble anymore in the country i.e gambling becomes illegal. Will you just behave yourself and abide to this new law that is depriving you from having fun as a good citizen ? or will you ignore the law and keep on gambling since there are online casinos that you can gamble secretly with your mobile phones with out no one knowing ?

I guess you just answered the question yourself, because if by virtue of I gambling with my smartphone government won't get to know about it, then should I stop? I will rather keep on having fun gambling on my mobile device while i ensure no third party gets to know about this decision of mine, because in as much as my regular gambling gives me money to settle some bills, i will rather gamble with caution knowing its against the law or probably buy a different smartphone to be used only for gambling at home.
Good for you, which you could able to make money with gambling and paying up some of your bills which is something that most people do fail to do so, considering that gambling is a game of luck
and there's no way that you could really make yourself win on long term.If the time comes that it has been banned in our place or country then it would really be just normal that you would
really be hesitating on playing just because you dont really like on being caught since we know about the consequences that would be made once you've been exposed out on playing
or violating countries laws but since on the technology that we do have today then it wouldnt really be that hard to make out access.

I think other than having an adequate time, a core gambler also have a good knowledge, skills and a good amount of capital. In short they are more superior than a common gambler. Playing gambling only for the sake of being entertained is not wrong and it's also not money consuming so feel free to include this in your monthly budget but if ever my country banned gambling then obviously I will follow the rules because I am not one of those who are desperate and will do risky things only to get the things that they wanted. I don't think online casinos are accessible because our ISPs will also banned it. Maybe some can use a VPN but it's still risky.

At this point what you mentioned is correct, the others who can say that if they look for gambling even if the government prohibits it they have, surely the solution for this gambler is to use a VPN, I don't have any more they see another way to get what they already want.

Even so, it is still good of course that we obey our government, because the forbidden should not be done or insist on violating it is also certain that it will be accompanied by punishment.

It seems to me that the main factor in adopting government rules, of course, if it bans gambling will be the severity of the punishment. If the punishment will be only in the form of a fine, it is likely to have little effect on gamblers because the likelihood that they will be forced to pay a fine when playing through a VPN is too small. The only thing to remember is to check whether the gambling site prohibits the use of a VPN, as failure to comply with these rules may result in the loss of funds.

Yes we can access with a VPN to play gambling even though the government has blocked the site. there are many countries may implement this but the percentage of gamblers is actually growing day by day because gambling is a very easy thing to make money which is able to attract people to become active gamblers. but if the government has implemented strict enough rules it would be nice to stop playing in such conditions, we can divert gambling addiction to other things and if the situation starts to be safe or there are no more silent raids then we can choose to keep gambling again or  stop completely.

I'll abide to the law, once caught that's even more traumatizing if you can't bail on that particular offense or worst if nothing to be bailed like money problem. I just continue on it online as long as it's available, there are many more ways to gamble online than the traditional setting of gambling.
Obeying the law is indeed a very safe choice what else for them and like me who is married will think a thousand times to do it because of family, and as long as online gambling can still be used why not.
and online gambling is more comfortable and safe and also without having to leave the house, and even though it is prohibited there are still many ways to still be able to use it.
That's totally a no-brainer considering it's on the law already and sanctions will surely be imposed to those who violate it. Well, can say for sure to be honest on online gambling maybe the government will also be strict on servers that may involve gambling and for sure that it will be blocked in the country unless people goes stealth doing it illegally.

You are a core gambler,I mean you have a reserved or particular time that you use in gambling everyday, just the way some of us are,we even add gambling expenses to our monthly budget because we gamble to entertain ourselves.

No reasonable government will ban gambling. And in this present days where gambling has been shoot in the space for any and every interested person to go online and play the kind of games and place bet . And also no casino gambling center in a country exist without paying the government a tax. There are various tax paid by the this betting platforms or centers. And the government make revenue from them. And if the government enact a law to prohibit gambling in the country, it will bounce back to them and it will affect them more the gamblers. Because government play gambling more even Politics is a duty game. That means Politics is a "Game".

As it is, for government to ban gambling, indirectly, you are saying nobody should use digital devices. Gambling has taken different dimension from the ascent  world.

Here in our place, any physical form of gambling is not allowed (only in our city because in nearby cities it's not prohibited). If you're caught playing you will have to pay the fine or worse you'll get imprison. Thus the only way to gamble is through online since it's not restricted.
but the truth is? there are still illegal gambling happening or those underground gambling houses ?

I tried living in a place that had the same rules and laws but we still able to gamble in our own little secret ways lol.

good for you mate and I salute in that stand , very rare that a gambler can just stop any time he wanted.

Yes, that's the truth and just like what others said above, tracking down these operators and gamblers is not an easy task to do because they will always find the means to keep on gambling and the operators will always find some way to establish the business again. Most of the time, the top brass or officials of the government who impose a strict law are also the ones who are running the illegal gambling, we may see some news that they caught big time gamblers or operators but the truth is that they are just eliminating their competitors. That's the sad truth.

There are many examples where people were not stopped by the fact that they had a wife and children. When the addiction is so strong that you simply cannot stop, then you cannot think about the consequences. To some extent, this is a disease that a specialist should help to cope with, but he can help only if the person himself wants it. And of course, everything must be within the law, for me this has always been an important point that I cannot violate, this is important for my peace of mind.

Some thinks about the consequence, but didn't really keep that in their minds when they're doing the act. They know what's right or wrong but it becomes hazy when you are preoccupied with doing something that you really like. I guess before on starts a family, they should already work on trying to remove this bad habit because it will bite their asses down later down the line. If a man cannot decide to leave or control his vices, then he's not deserving of a family.

Since we already have internet now I doubt if they can restrict people from continuing to enjoy what they love doing online and one of these is playing in their favorite casinos, they can only restrict those offline casinos and places where people gamble, but not people on the comfort of their home, they need a court order to check what people are doing, I will continue playing but only online as I don't want to mess with authorities as I am a law-abiding citizen.

You are right that with the Internet enables us to gamble whenever we want. Some casinos restrict the access to their website from countries where gambling is illegal or heavily regulated. This will not stop someone who really wants to gamble, he can use VPNs to still access the casino. The problem is that he has no rights anymore. Do you really want to risk large sums of money if there is no legal framework in your country to support your claims? If there are issues with the casino you can't involve a lawyer and there is no real chance to get your money back. This is not only for online gambling, but also for illegal underground casinos. For me the risk would be too high to not get my money when I win big. It must be frustrating when the government suddenly declares gambling illegal in your country. But there are legal ways around it. For example, you could go on vacation to cities like Las Vegas or Macau. Flights and hotels are usually fairly cheap and you can spend a whole weekend or even week gambling.

If this were to happen, I don't think breaking the law would be worth it because surely, if the new government decided to ban it already and declare illegal, then definitely they won't go easy on the violators. Surely, those who will break the law will suffer grave punishment and consequences for their actions. If you value your peace of mind and if you treasure your life and your time with your loved ones, then you shouldn't do anything that is not worth the trouble.

Secretly gambling can do you no good the moment you got caught. All of your winnings and the thrill won't be worth it if you will be fined with big amount or be taken in prison. Using VPN can put you at risk too so it is not really a wise move to use one just to avoid the gambling restrictions.

Gambling is already a punishable offense in my country.  And if anyone openly gambles offline then the police arrest him.  However, there are many gamblers in our country who gamble secretly and online gambling platforms are very popular for them because here they can gamble secretly at home. So I think those who love gambling will go through all the government hurdles and continue gambling secretly.

I think that there are a lot of illegal gambling sites in your country and the government is not being compensated or no taxes are being paid. There are a lot of gambling sites that can be accessed secretly if you are using a VPN which I think those people in your country are doing it.

May we know on what country do you live and also why is gambling banned on there. What could be the reason. Is it due to religion or something? You are still lucky because you guys can still play gambling online. It only shows that your government only banned offline gambling. It wasn't that strict compared to other countries where both offline and online gambling are prohibited.

Once you love something and then it was suddenly banned, you will always find a way to get it. Drugs and alcoholic drinks for example. These two are the most popular banned items in the world but there are always cases where people are caught out of taking them.

It depends on the government. If it is the Chinese government or a dictatorship, I would surely leave it. In a Western country, not that it is my opinion, it is that many people do not care about government restrictions. Let's look for example at the prohibitions on gambling in the USA. People gamble anyway. If you live in a dictatorship where if you are caught moving the dice cup to throw the dice, you get your hand cut off, people think more about it but in developed countries it's a laugh.

Yes, there are some countries where gambling is completely illegal. Where gambling is considered a serious offense or crime. As you said if someone gambles even his hand is cut off. Gambling in that situation is very risky which can make your life miserable. But in the modern world, there are many other countries such as England, America, Canada where this gambling is legalized. Basically you have to decide depending on your geographical location.
in countries which is gambling was legalized it be their income source, tax from money circulation was so huge and maybe it could not ignored. at west countries most of them freely gambling , and even government give facility such as money privacy sources. but in some countries we didnt see it , some of them still said it broke their policy and even could enter to jail while catched.

never break any Laws or Rules, meaning if time comes that our country does not support gambling anymore? then i will surely follow and will convert my activities in trading or at least online gaming?
with all the chances of enjoyment why need to break some rules just to be contented?

You seems to be a very good citizen Smiley Leaving gambling might be easy for those who are not really enjoying the fun part of gambling or for those who use it as a professional job (poker players and sports bettors), but it can be really hard to leave gambling for those who have been enjoying it for years. As I said before in many other thread, gambling is illegal in my country (it was legal years ago) but there are still many people gamble now. Frankly speaking I have no idea why some countries consider gambling as illegal or as a crime, if the reason is solely related to religion (sin), I cant really accept this reason since religion is a privacy and sin is a about ourselves in connection with the God.
maybe it is about not wanting to fill my bags with funds  coming from illegal ways? or maybe i don't wanna experience troubles as I have a happy family to sustain and being caught may bring me to prison or other problems that might come along the way.
