In my country there are several types of gambling that are prohibited and can be sentenced to prison if caught gambling there but indeed it's only a few of the games in gambling that are prohibited so it doesn't really interfere with other things.
In my country cockfighting is something that is prohibited but poker or slot games can still be done and I think if there was a ban like this especially with a prison sentence then I would not be there but currently there are many legal ones so I will still be there.
It all depends on the government, how they respond to gambling in the country, but it's true as you said the government still legalizes some gambling sites such as slots and online gambling, so most people will definitely not change their minds about gambling, even though they lose in gambling but they can't leave the habit of gambling, plus now the government has provided a legal gambling place and is protected by the government.

You are a core gambler,I mean you have a reserved or particular time that you use in gambling everyday, just the way some of us are,we even add gambling expenses to our monthly budget because we gamble to entertain ourselves.

This means that you see gambling as a leisure activity for entertainment and you are not addicted to it. This also entails that you can control your gambling habit and easily switch to another form of entertainment if you don't have access to it.

Quote
A new government came into power, and enacted a law that nobody should gamble anymore in the country i.e gambling becomes illegal. Will you just behave yourself and abide to this new law that is depriving you from having fun as a good citizen ? or will you ignore the law and keep on gambling since there are online casinos that you can gamble secretly with your mobile phones with out no one knowing ?

Most enacted laws are backed by parliamentary powers and executive orders. Laws also have privileges and punishments attached to the. If you obey the law you enjoy the privileges, if you break them, you would be punished. As a law-abiding and patriotic citizen of your country, it would be better to stop gambling. You can search for other forms of entertainment that give you pleasure.
Just like the ban on Indian hemp in my country, people still use them secretly but many people have gone to jail because of this.

It is seems that your country does not support the gambling if they make this as a law I guess it is just good you will follow these because for sure there's a section for those people does not obey the rules and next is if you really urge to play it is more ideal to do is make a non detected device like use of the VPN because you are the responsible with your actions.

Countries or government that legalized gambling will never ever suddenly decides to ban gambling. Mainly, because casinos and other that are alike have made enough taxes to help the local economy.
Now,  let's assume this happens. The answer to that will always depend on the person's urge. There are actually a lot of things you can do for leisure. Risking your life to illegal ways is always going to be the worse decision.

If government makes gambling illegal in your country and you still want to gamble, then you should realize that you are  some what addicted to gambling. You are risking yourself jail time and penalties just to gamble your money. You might argue that you gamble only little amount just to entertain yourself. Well, there are other "paid" form of entertainment that you can enjoy without doing anything illegal. Or you can play in those virtual currency (that has no value) casinos for fun.

The harsh reality is clear:

If the goddamn government of your country makes gambling illegal, then you have no choice, you will have to stop gambling, you cannot risk committing a crime. imagine being caught playing (although it is something very difficult to happen, but there is still the possibility of being caught by the government) and you sentenced to years in prison? you who at that moment were betting 50$ to have fun in the gamble, the government of your country catches you and condemns you to 5 years in prison, man see, being imprisoned for 5 years in prison because of 50$ is something that in In my opinion, it's not even worth taking the risk. Therefore: if a government makes gambling illegal then stop playing immediately, respect and comply with the laws, even if they are laws made by people without brains and that are only intended to be dictatorship laws, we have to respect the laws

That's a hard question for me because I'm used to a country that allowed free gambling. There's a prohibited gambling type here but mostly, we can gamble freely without any worries. In a country where gambling is used to be prohibited since then, that question can easily be answered because they know already the feeling of living in a country where gambling is illegal.

Depending on how strict the law of gambling will be implemented here, that's the time I can answer that question of yours.

Fuck all of our governments, first off. Now I do count myself lucky that I live in a country where I can freely express my feelings as such, and let my government know how much I truly despise them and think they do a shit job overall..so that being said, yes, of course I’d do anything and everything they tell me that I should do  Wink

Even in my country where gambling is illegal and prohibited, many people still do it. especially now we can do online gambling very easily on various platforms. So, actually, it won't have much effect as long as the government or the authorities don't know about it, or as long as other people don't know about it. Don't we gamble for our own pleasure? So no need to tell anyone, right? As long as we can really be responsible for our gambling activities, can still control ourselves and emotions, don't burden the family, or don't force our will beyond our ability to gamble. However, if the gambling has damaged us and only has a bad effect, it is better for us to stop first to rearrange ourselves.

I'm not as addicted as the gambler you mention, but even so I would definitely continue playing even if rules were imposed in my country.
Cryptocurrencies were created to give people this freedom and we need to use them to our advantage.
By the way, I think this is a very unlikely scenario, as I don't see why gambling would be so harmful to a country and what the reasons would be to block it.

Not everyone is a core gambler, so it isn't a must to gamble every day. About the budget for gambling, it is good if you allocate it, which means you limit the amount of money to use in gambling. It will be worse if you don't allocate a specific amount of money for gambling. You can spend bigger amount of money because you have no limitations on it.

A new government came into power, and enacted a law that nobody should gamble anymore in the country i.e gambling becomes illegal. You need to know the regulation in detail. Make sure if the government bans all types of gambling, or it only applies to physical gambling/casinos. If it only applies to physical casinos, so it is no problem to access online casinos. By the way, you need to remind that your family should be the priority, don't do something that can risk yourself and your family.

Actually gambling is illegal before. People is just too eager to gamble that’s why they are very hard to stop which force the government to create a law to properly regulate them and charge tax at the same time. I believe people will still find a way to gamble even government will prohibit people to use it. Personally if the punishment will be prison I believe I will behave myself because I’m not that compulsive gambler.

It usually depends on how deep our situation is when it comes to gambling, but let's say that the new government suddenly prohibits any form of gambling, of course as a citizen we will abide law that has been newly established. Furthermore, I don't believe that this kind of law will exist any longer because they cannot control all the people and they won't use precious resources just to spy people and know if they are gambling or not. Sooner or later, the government will be forced to make it legal again and just take advantage of the big revenues to improve the economy, just like what other country are doing.

If ever my country decided to ban gambling, I think I will be responsible and follow the government regulation.  I do not want my family to have problems if ever the government track down people who do not follow the gambling ban.  I think it is worth the sacrifice of not playing in an online gambling if that gives my family a peace of mind.

Illegal is illegal, you might escape that for a while but expect to experience worst if you get caught. I don't want to be on this position at all cost, I will avoid or stop doing such illegal things. If the government suddenly ban gambling in your area, then I believe you still have time to withdraw your money on a gambling site and for now better to forget about gambling and focus in other things. Your government might revise that decision so by that time, you can gamble again legally.

I believe government has limit to how far they can exercise their authorities just as in the caee of cryptocurrencies that was banned in some countries but p2p has always serve a solution, i will advise that if such happens then there must be a way to gamble with privacy and be safe, they make their own law and you make your decision to serve yourself to the right and freedom you deserve, many gambling sites are now going on "no KYC" mode in their operations and you can now use crypto to gamble and not fiat, so you can always find a means to byepass such, China made tge law but still yet many are enjoying the sweetness of cryptocurrency being decentralized and if worst be, then you can enjoy playing the games right on your devices without gambling your stake on the games but i believe government wouldn't because they also benefited from gambling companies and operators.

Gambling is illegal in my country since for decades already and there is a clear law about gambling. However it does not make people in my country stop gambling, they do gamble in online casinos. The number of gamblers is increasing from time to time as well as the number of the online casinos. The government tries their best to block those online casinos and jails those who are caught to gamble but there are still many people do it. It proves that most people just ignore the law and they do it responsibly as I believe that they know the risks.

I’m not addict in gambling, if it’s illegal already then I will not take the risk to ignore such law because I know it will be risky and my career will be compromise so I’d rather follow the law than to spend time in jail.

There’s a lot of way to be happy and to be entertain, don’t use gambling as an excuse because if you do, most probably you are addicted on this and you need a help already.

Comply with the laws of your country.!

Always do the right thing.

There are many players who have accommodated themselves according to the laws, in the United States, after Black Friday (poker) the restrictions began, some was total others regional, but even after a few years, it seems that an agreement will finally be reached that allows playing again without so many restrictions. But the professional players who depended on it traveled to Canada and Mexico mainly.

Spain only allows the game between local players (poker), coupled with the demanding taxes, many players said no, and went to other countries.

So your case may be "temporary" the laws may change, so, you could be patient!, or if you like to bet simply look for the right way to do it, travel or settle in a country that will allow you to bet "Legally", do not complicate your life.

I doubt any sanctions of ban placed on gambling by the government will not see light because gambling comes in varying types and techniques. How does the policing agency who will be responsible to enforce this decision even begin?
For those who find gambling as a profitable investment of time and money, if caught, do you think whatever punishment would compensate for the addiction or way of life that had been a survival means for them?
Gambling can only be restricted or limited in use across certain platforms but not banned totally. Unless phones or other mobile devices seize to exist or one is in a place without internet access.
I certainly can't change my mind on gambling. It is my concern how I spend my cash. It is my concern how I derive my happiness from an activity as gambling that makes my adrenaline flow.
