There are factors I need to consider if ever the government put a ban on gambling.  these are:

1,  How serious is the government about implementing the Ban?  If they are just implementing it because of trends then I wouldn't stop my online gambling.
2.  Are they tracking down and arresting people who engage in gambling both online and offline?  If they do then I will stop any of my gambling activity.  I do not want to get caught and pay a fine or spend some days on detention centers.

So whether I will continue playing or stop when the government ban gambling depends on the consequences and penalty when caught.

Is gambling still punisable by death penalty in any country in the 21st Century? If that was the case in my country, I wouldn't risk my life :O

And if the fine was high, I would also change my mind. But if it was small, and difficult to detect, I wouldn't: I think that adult people must be free to make their own decisions about betting/gambling or not. Another thing is that some abusive practices used by casinos should be banned in order to protect the people, but this is not what the OP is asking.

maybe there are some countries that prohibit gambling as well as in my country it is also prohibited there are even laws that must be obeyed here, but actually the state can take advantage of the existing gambling tax so that the state can legalize it, but it all comes back from your government, that doesn't mean with the ban will disappear, of course all gamblers will still gamble wherever they want even using their cellphones can still gamble even if the government blocks the gambling sites people will use VPNs to keep gambling, weekends are a fun time to gamble and spend a little money looking for fun

if you are a gambler through and through, you will find a way how to gamble at any cost. as the online gambling community is easily accessible these days, it is not a surprise if you can find sites that can satisfy your desires. but i don't think the government will totally ban the world of gambling as they can get income from this industry. no matter what banning they will do, gambling will always be a part of most people. they will just play using illegal means. so why not make it legal and earn from it?

You are a core gambler,I mean you have a reserved or particular time that you use in gambling everyday, just the way some of us are,we even add gambling expenses to our monthly budget because we gamble to entertain ourselves.
A new government came into power, and enacted a law that nobody should gamble anymore in the country i.e gambling becomes illegal. Will you just behave yourself and abide to this new law that is depriving you from having fun as a good citizen ? or will you ignore the law and keep on gambling since there are online casinos that you can gamble secretly with your mobile phones with out no one knowing ?

In my opinion, the country's government can prohibit only what it controls.  If the country's government does not control something, it will not be possible to prohibit it.

For example, offline casinos are actually located on the territory of a certain country.

Organizations that profit from the activities of these casinos are officially registered with the tax authorities.

The situation is different with online casinos.  Their owners can be residents of different countries.  The financial and economic activities of these casinos are carried out in the virtual space.

For example, deposits can be replenished in cryptocurrency.  It can even be such an anonymous and confidential cryptocurrency as Monero (XMR).

In these conditions, state bodies are unable to control such casinos and prohibit people from playing gambling games.

I don't want to violate the laws in any way so my take will be changing the mind and go for other entertainment options or fight legally to bring back with valid reason why it shouldn't be banned in your country.

And you have wrong thoughts about online casinos, every legal casinos will not allow people from banned country in their casinos and you can clearly see which country residents are restricted from using their services in their terms of service. If you are still gambling you are also violating the terms of casino and your funds are under risk as well.
Any violation would come up with consequences and its no brainer that you would really be definitely be penalize once you do get caught but if deep inside you do know that
they cant just easily catch you and you are that too addicted with gambling then pretty sure, you would just simply play anytime you do want and everywhere you do like.
Changing up someones mindset when it comes to gambling will vary on the level of addiction that you do have.If you do really have that kind of emotion
where you do need to play badly then you would definitely push through it.
Even if the government can't find the people who is abusing the laws that is why they let the service provider to do the job, here the gambling platform has their right to decline any winning amount from the user who won from a place where their service is not allowed and the new KYC kind of screening system won't let anyone to stay under the radar forever. So the choices will become limited and probably there are high chances to end up choosing the scam casino and lose the money.

I'd probably just follow the law and just find another hobby. It's way easier to give it up and do my normal thing and wait for other people more dedicated than me to make a move rather than throw myself in front of the deluge and get myself imprisoned. I only gamble to kill time and enjoy a bit but I can definitely live without it. I just haven't found the time to allocate on some other things other than gambling on Saturdays. The government can enforce this immediately, and I wouldn't care that much if all gambling websites will be blocked.

It is very difficult to eradicate or stop gambling even if the government strictly prohibits and will imprison it if caught, gambling has existed since our ancestors still existed and was also prohibited but until now it still exists and continues to grow and develop.
and in the country where I live gambling is prohibited, but everyone can still bet by hiding and can also access online gambling even if it is blocked or banned. There are many ways to keep playing and access it no matter how strong and tough the government is, gambling will never go away and there are many cases of gamblers being arrested and jailed for just a day or two because their money can get out.

If gambling has become a habit and becomes a routine that is needed to entertain oneself, of course the government rules will be ignored, I believe that. because gamblers always find ways how to easily access gambling sites even though they are illegal and blocked. For those who take advantage of gambling as a field to generate profits, it will be a necessity that cannot be abandoned just because of the government's prohibition. The government only blocks access, but there are many loopholes that can be used to reach it again.

I wouldn't stop gambling because the government doesn't allow it. More important than following the laws of your country is to have the perception and conscience of how moral they are. If a law is immoral I think it shouldn't be followed. As example I could mention tyranical countries which doesn't respect individuals' rights (by the law). In this case citizens should ignore the law and act accordingly to their own conscience which is more important than any human invention. Regards gambling, a citizen from a strict country on this matter can simply play using cryptocurrency at online casinos. Being discreet, your government can't do anything against you.

Everyone has their own subjective view on things like gambling or obeying the government. I for example do not care at all about obeying the government but I understand that some laws and regulations have a good reason for existing. So I obey that "peaceful and productive order of things". Thats not the same as to obey the authorities. As far as gambling goes, I would not care about any legal or illegal restrictions on something that I enjoy doing. If my country were to ban gambling, I would simply find another way to gamble. Unless there is a very good reason for banning gambling and not just moral-high-road politics.

As a gambler who is in a zone of strict government regarding gambling, as a good citizen I appear normal on outside the house. But not inside, well I play online gambling every day. The government doesn't know about my activities, if they know that's okay too, as long as I don't harm other people. Gambling is just for fun, what matters is (responsibility) I always remember that.

First, if you are going to be a law-abiding citizen, there is no doubt that you will comply with anything prohibited by the government that you have in the country you are in. Although we have what is called free will, it is up to us whether we follow it or not. But let's just remember that whatever we do, we will surely reap what we sow, good or bad, forbidden or not, it's that simple.

Then sometimes we think it's just a hobby for us as a gambler, we don't realize that it actually causes a bad effect on our personality and sometimes even leads to our finances and our loved ones being affected.

Gambling is a phenomenon as old as the history of humanity. If you want to ban gambling, you have to ban human history. As you can see, early humans made dice out of bones for gambling even when they couldn't make smooth objects. Basically, we're playing the same game as people who lived 8,000 years ago.

You cannot destroy it. You can try to ban it. If you ban it, people will turn to illegal ways. In this case, larger chaotic events occur.

You would definitely be doing gambling despite of the ban or prohibition. Why? In todays era, where accessibility is easy as 1,2,3 or few clicks or taps on your phone. Then, there's no way that the government could catch
you up specially when using up some VPN where it cant be easy for someone to trace you up and since there are casinos which do really still accepts players who do make use of VPN then it would
surely be a clear path for you to take if you do really want badly to play but if you are a bit paranoid when it comes to consequences when you do get caught then
you would surely be stopping right away and follow the rules or laws that had been imposed.

I'm just a small-time gambler and still know my limits so I believe that I can quit from gambling if it's necessary or even asked by the law. It will only be hard for those who have fallen into gambling addiction. For sure, they are willing to break the law just to pursue gambling which will surely cause problems in the future. But to those responsible gamblers, I think this will never be a struggle.

It depends on how specific the law is and how they're going to implement it because like what the others have also mentioned it's not easy to stop people from gambling online, they might block a bunch of well known online casinos but still, there are countless casinos that others could go to. If the law is targeted at physical casinos then that's easy to follow but when it comes to online i'd probably ignore it since online gambling can also appear in other places aside from casinos.

The answer to that question will be different for different people, for example, those who gamble excessively on a daily basis will do nothing to correct it, and we constantly hear news that gamblers are being arrested and sent to prison in countries where gambling is illegal, yet gambling rates remain high, not decreasing .So I think it is not possible for people who are addicted to gambling to abstain from gambling
