Gambling is already a punishable offense in my country.  And if anyone openly gambles offline then the police arrest him.  However, there are many gamblers in our country who gamble secretly and online gambling platforms are very popular for them because here they can gamble secretly at home. So I think those who love gambling will go through all the government hurdles and continue gambling secretly.

You are a core gambler,I mean you have a reserved or particular time that you use in gambling everyday, just the way some of us are,we even add gambling expenses to our monthly budget because we gamble to entertain ourselves.
A new government came into power, and enacted a law that nobody should gamble anymore in the country i.e gambling becomes illegal. Will you just behave yourself and abide to this new law that is depriving you from having fun as a good citizen ? or will you ignore the law and keep on gambling since there are online casinos that you can gamble secretly with your mobile phones with out no one knowing ?
not sure about others but I'd probably be fine with it. there are other engaging things that could be an alternative to gambling(at least for me). I'd probably still miss gambling though.

anyway, knowing how much gambling tax helped my country during the height of the pandemic, I am not sure there will be someone who'd want to take that part of revenue away from the country.

Honestly gambling is heavily regulated in my country but we have gambling-free state called North Cyprus (I know Europeans don't recognize it but Turks can go there to freely gamble with IDs). I think that Cyprus option will always be enabled. Our government knows how much tax money gambling can generate. People should inform their governments with it to convince them never outlaw gambling.
In some countries there are regulations or legalities that are aimed at gamblers so this can be a good economic source because the funds collected from taxes can be used to improve the city's economy and infrastructure, if the government thinks like that, but it all depends on those who regulate its urban environment because not all countries provide freedom for gambling.

More rules make a country more corrupt.

People will always find another way (alternative) to do what they like to do! In this case, I guess a good VPN and crypto casino that doesn't require KYC is a good solution for bypassing government rules. Pretty easy and simple.
As long as you are willing to take risk just to gamble, you are free to do this but of course not every gambler will take such risk especially if there's a strong law that prohibit everyone from getting involve in gambling with a huge punishment once caught. I won't suggest any of this, this is too risky and I'm sure you don't want to get punish. For now, all you can do is to focus your attention in other things, wait for a new government to amend this law because for sure they will lose a lot of money at certain point if they continue to banned gambling, there's still a hope for this.

As long as the risk won't heavily affect you then you can still enjoy gambling by your own means. There are still regulations that don't restrict gambling that much and gamblers can still gamble with limits. Lucky are those who are able to seek alternatives despite their country's restrictions against gambling.

If the government has enacted a law to prohibit gambling then I will comply with the regulation because if the law has been enacted then we will definitely feel the law if the government knows our work as online gamblers, although there are many results that we get but the risks we have to accept are also very threatening to our future, so I prefer other ways to be able to get an advantage other than by doing  gambling, and currently there are many other ways that we can do besides gambling, but this all depends on our respective principles.

This question is has already answered itself. We live in an age and time where the only the only restriction which the government of a country can put in place is the ban on vehicular and personnel movement. Aside this, as long as whatever you need to do is on the internet the government can do nothing. We already know that there are sophisticated software that can bypass whatever online restriction is in place. In the case of gambling, if ever there is a restriction, gamblers will always find a way.

My country restrict with all gambling site and several casino gambling website are banned and can't access without change with IP access trough used VPN or modify with DNS IP address, I don't think many people in my country stop for gambling because with easy rule without need KYC and gambling site still can access well what happen did by government restrict still not impact for my country gambler. I think not coming from government restrict about gambling but also depending our self to stop active on gambling or not, if have been our habit I think difficult to stop although illegal by government.

Not is uncontrollable now, the government will just get tired of regulating casinos or even banning them because of new technologies that can use to bypass connections unnoticed.  Now, it was an individual consideration if they will fall and get addicted to gambling or not, it was not the government who will be blamed for whatever happened to these gamblers. As we are old already in this particular, I think we don't need help from the government but it was us to help ourselves back and think about what is better.

It is really hard to imagine that the government would block gambling and make it illegal overnight in my country. I am living in a very free and open country, where the red light district is regulated and not illegal, same goes for drugs. Over the last 5 years the government kept lowering the prison sentences for drug offenders in an effort to decriminalise smaller drug offences. The main focus is personal freedom which makes it so hard to imagine that gambling would be banned suddenly.  To be honest I would probably not stop gambling and start looking for ways to circumvent the ban online and keep gambling. Being a good citizen is one thing, but this usually means you understand the motivation behind the laws of the government. And a outright ban on gambling doesn't seem fair in my eyes. If they try to regulate the sector more it's okay, but banning things we enjoy doing is the wrong way. What I would not do is gambling with my mobile phone in public, the risk of other people seeing it and maybe calling the police on me would be too big.

Thing is gambling isn't the only thing I have in terms of having fun or just chilling. Heck I've actually lowered the amount of times I've gambled recently since other stuff has been taking up a huge part of my time. I don't think it would affect me that much, it might be similar to me finishing a long game after so long and having that temporary emptiness of not being able to play it again kind of thing.

Not that it matters though, A lot of countries have gambling banned but it still thrives off in the underground market, so banned or not, gambling will always exist. It just culls the casinos that are open to the public but they can simply swap to going hidden instead.

I think you should know that your ISP can track your online activities and they know if you are visiting gambling sites on your cell phone and computer. They can give this data to the government anytime if they feel like or if the government demands it. So i hope you are using a paid VPN and you know all the tips and tricks to hide your identity online. It's still not safe to play gambling online if the government had banned it already.
If someone do not have money for paid VPN, he can just use the ones like ProtonVPN, there are free part of it that people can enjoy, but the servers available can be congested at times, but with no ads. But most free VPN are not advisable because of ads and they are not secure and safe at all.

Before using a VPN for a gambling site, better to check it on the gambling site terms and conditions before using it. As for me, I can not use VPN for gambling, but gambling is legal in my country.

I think things like this are not that important to discuss. my country has currently banned gambling and forbids every citizen to gamble, if it violates it will be punished but I don't obey it, I am still gambling safely and comfortably through my cellphone and PC

a mature gambler would know what to do when the state interfered in this

There is no big deal here what i just understand is that as a gambler there will be definitely a way to gamble, this made me remember when government limited us from associating our local account with cryptocurrencies yet we looked for a way to keep trading and buying bitcoin through Peer 2 peer.
Yes, that's like having a mass bitcoin ban in your country yet there are still people that have been accumulating and trading it silently. So, the typical gamblers would keep on doing it without having caught by the state.

They have to keep it to themselves and only trust people that will know what they're up to because if there's someone that would against them, they'll be caught by the state as that person will tell the authorities that he knew people that still gambles despite the government rule.

Traditionally gambling in most countries is indeed prohibited but for online gambling who knows, is it possible that state officials will check every cellphone of its citizens? of course not.
It's not that I ignore state laws, but it's our right to seek pleasure
Traditional gambling doesn't have demand anymore. People are massively moving to the online based. It doesn't matter how hard government was trying to prevent them and that would be useless. It's not possible to happen. There was a law about privacy. Your cellphone is your data. It cna't be checked without your permission. it will be violating the rules of privacy. It's not easy like officials are checking your phone.
It's about government was preventing it through banning IP or sites.

I think same partain would be implemented in a country were there seems to be no way to gamble VPN can be purchased and withdrawal could be made through cryptocurrencies instead of withdrawing directly to local accounts where it will reflect with gambling site name. So at this point no need to change my mind to leave gamble.

No, state officials won't check every cellphone/smartphone in a country. The government only can ban certain sites. So, people cannot access the sites if they use IP from their country. It is the only possible thing to be done by the government.

It's not that I ignore state laws, but it's our right to seek pleasure
Agree. As long as the purpose to gamble is for entertainment or pleasure, the government should allow us. It is our own right to get pleasure or entertainment. The government only can prohibit us to access gambling sites if there is a massive misused on the sites, for example: money laundering. Or if the gambling sites harm people.
