You are a core gambler,I mean you have a reserved or particular time that you use in gambling everyday, just the way some of us are,we even add gambling expenses to our monthly budget because we gamble to entertain ourselves.
A new government came into power, and enacted a law that nobody should gamble anymore in the country i.e gambling becomes illegal. Will you just behave yourself and abide to this new law that is depriving you from having fun as a good citizen ? or will you ignore the law and keep on gambling since there are online casinos that you can gamble secretly with your mobile phones with out no one knowing ?
^ This is how we apply self-discipline to ourselves.
We know what is right or wrong and think about it the outcome if you will abide by the law just follow the eagerness to gamble and think of a better solution if you really want to gamble. That is why we have online gambling that we can access anytime as long as we have the internet to access the site.
If you really want to gamble but have a problem in the future, just migrate to another country that allows or there is no limit when i6t comes to gambling.
Secretly gambling with your phone is much better.

Traditionally gambling in most countries is indeed prohibited but for online gambling who knows,
It's said that anything related to gambling is banned and that's why some chose to abide the law and stop gambling. I guess we now have a solution for those that have severe gambling addiction.

The government's rule of gambling is what you need for but it's also not a good rule for those that likes to gamble casually and to those that are making a living from it.

is it possible that state officials will check every cellphone of its citizens? of course not.
It's not that I ignore state laws, but it's our right to seek pleasure
It's possible through martial law because it gives power to the authority to implement that.

I will probably abide the rule set by government for obvious reasons since gambling is not something we should worry about without its existence. Maybe addicted gamblers will go for second option due to the degenerate urge to spent time&money on slots that have higher addiction ratio. Generally, I prefer to be gambling free rather than fighting with state law that banned this fun activity. Just my 2 cents.

I agree with you abiding the rule set by the government is a wiser move.  Gambling is a very interesting activity and anyone can be hooked easily with it.  The government is implementing the ban for its citizen's benefits so if any one wanted to have a better and peaceful life, they should follow the law of their country, else don't be surprised if one day, an authority is knocking at our door issuing an arrest warrant or invitation to be questioned if we don't stop our gambling activity which is banned by the Government.

At the start of the implementation of the new law, I might stop gambling. Normally, the strictest phase of policy implementation is when it is newly released. So I probably would cease from gambling. But as soon as I observe among other gamblers that they are freely gambling online without the authorities even noticing them, I might also try. But if I see that those who are violating the law by moving into online gambling are penalized, I might as well stop gambling for good.
If both online and offline gambling are prohibited, then there’s no reason to continue gambling anymore. My kids are still very young so I should serve as a model to them, as a law abiding citizen. However, this might be too far to happen from reality because gambling nowadays has been very open to everyone and become widely legalized. So there’s no reason not to gamble, as long as you only gamble on your extra money.

I'm not the kind of a law abiding citizen. I'm more of a rebel and I do what I feel makes sense and rather follow ethics than law. I don't break the law often and I don't do anything that could endanger other people but I tend to ignore stupid bans. Like if they said I have to tell them how much crypto I have, I'd ignore it. If they told me I have to get rid if it, I'd also ignore it. It's the same with drinking, bitcoin and so on. I used to drink alcohol before the legal age, drive a car before i legally could and I'd gamble if they said it's no longer allowed.

I will definitely abide the law as it necessarily carries a sanction/penalty if you break it.

Just like any other crime which is punishable under the current laws, they can only be enforced after you break it AND if someone discovers your act. Sure, you can get away with it by using VPNs or by secretly gambling using other accounts but it carries this hanging sword of Damocles where one wrong move could ruin your entire life.

At the end of the day, you just have to weigh if it is really worth to gamble or not. If you feel like that the government will not able to discover your acts, then feel free to do so, but be ready of its consequences.

I already did long time ago. I used to be a degenerate gambler and then I realized that I was losing too much money. I decided to stop and I did it. Now I am not losing that much money. Occasionally I still play but not like how it used to be. If you think your habits are harming you then it means you need to put an end to those habits. Otherwise you will just harm yourself and your loved ones.
it means that you were once a gambling enthusiast who wasted money without realizing it. and now salute to those of you who can control now don't play too much. indeed almost everyone will experience something like that makes a strong experience to be able to choose and manage finances that is more important. Gambling can generate income but it's not the main thing, just a side thing I do

It seems to me that if gambling is profitable, even if it is a small amount of money, it is advisable to continue doing it. But if it has become a bad habit, you have to give up gambling or choose another strategy. But most likely, with addiction can only help complete abandonment of gambling. As for the laws, it's all individual. I know that gambling is forbidden in Islam, but many people do it online or purposely come to play in casinos in other countries, for example from Turkey to Georgia. So the laws are easily circumvented.
You can say that gambling can be profitable but we must realize that it will not always be profitable because gambling more will lead to losses. This makes us have to have self-control before we experience big losses. But if there are laws that will regulate gambling or let's say, gambling is banned as in some countries, it would be better not to violate them because we could be punished by the government if caught gambling in casinos. But indeed, gamblers can easily continue to gamble and do not care about the law and gamblers should be careful not to get caught by the regulator.

In my country there are several types of gambling that are prohibited and can be sentenced to prison if caught gambling there but indeed it's only a few of the games in gambling that are prohibited so it doesn't really interfere with other things.
In my country cockfighting is something that is prohibited but poker or slot games can still be done and I think if there was a ban like this especially with a prison sentence then I would not be there but currently there are many legal ones so I will still be there.
It all depends on the government, how they respond to gambling in the country, but it's true as you said the government still legalizes some gambling sites such as slots and online gambling, so most people will definitely not change their minds about gambling, even though they lose in gambling but they can't leave the habit of gambling, plus now the government has provided a legal gambling place and is protected by the government.
This is what needs to be considered because indeed there may be some governments who also make gambling as an income source such as in taxes etc. so that indeed as long as it is still enforced and there is still a place to accommodate every gambling then it is still being done.
In contrast to what has already become illegal, we don't need to force it even though there are some people who are still naughty by continuing to do so even though imprisonment or fines are a consequence when they are caught red-handed doing that.

I don't think you were into the addiction "part" of gambling. Probably, that's why you made your way out , easily without even having difficulties in seeing afterwards , the gain you'd be making if you were still gambling or some sure predictions  that you'll make it you're still in the system. With this whole facts , it won't even take you a day to fall back to it yeah? I guess, sometimes , addictions are suppressed but, that almost impossible or -- In anyway -- hard to propose.

I haven't been into gambling tho buh I still remember back then, when I worked as a stock manager for one of this casinos. It was fun as I'll end up using half of my stipend to sort for some gamblers that play their whole pockets and owe the company as well.

My decision on whether to stop gambling or continue doing it will depend on how the government will impose such a law. There are already some governments in other countries where gambling has been illegal yet they still managed to continue their gambling activities mainly because the law was not imposed strictly.

If the government will be strict on their law making gambling illegal such as prohibiting online gambling and limiting access of their citizen to gambling and even monitoring possible or potential gambling facilities or casinos then I would gladly stop my gambling endeavors.

I cannot put myself into the position because I am not that type of a gambler. Anyhow, even if the new government will ban all gambling related activities a core gambler will continue to gamble using online gambling casinos. I am not a core gambler but I will also continue to gamble online. I don't put my trust to the government 100%. And I only gamble in small amounts that is enough for me to have fun and entertainment. This world is stressful and toxic which is why we have our own getaways be it gambling, traveling, eating, drinking and many more.
If the government allow gamblers to use online gambling but prohibit offline gambling, I think the gamblers will move to online gambling easily.
But after all, active gamblers will continue to look for ways to keep gambling, even if it is illegal.
But, those who do not want to deal with the government will try to stay away from gambling.
It is indeed a good idea to prohibit gambling within certain limits and the government should take an acceptable approach to everyone who often gambles.

As long as the government didn't mentioned any online gambling website, gamblers will just easily transist to those platforms. Even if they do, there are still some ways to bypass and gain access to those websites through the use of VPNs. Imposing a law about gambling is not enough to stop those gamblers, they will always find a way to do their habit whether if they're just a casual or high-roller player.

Even if the government imposes such a prohibition, it will have little impact on citizens. There are now online casinos where you may gamble from the comfort of your own home, and everything is done digitally. Perhaps if the government can also prohibit access to such gambling casinos in the country, they will be able to achieve their goal; otherwise, they may be wasting their efforts on something that is unachievable.

Illegal is illegal, you might escape that for a while but expect to experience worst if you get caught. I don't want to be on this position at all cost, I will avoid or stop doing such illegal things. If the government suddenly ban gambling in your area, then I believe you still have time to withdraw your money on a gambling site and for now better to forget about gambling and focus in other things. Your government might revise that decision so by that time, you can gamble again legally.
Gambling is fun to some people. If the government ban gambling, some people will look for ways to avoid the ban and continue to gamble. That is people for you. I will not like if the government in my country ban gambling, but why they legalized it before and later suddenly ban it? They supposed to have banned it from the beginning, but not when many people has already liked it. There would be effective means to avoid the ban.

I can never call what supposed to be human freedom that the government are againsting humans for to be seen as illegal, the government too can do something wrong, making their citizens to more succumb to their ways of not given citizens the freedom that they want.

It is seems that your country does not support the gambling if they make this as a law I guess it is just good you will follow these because for sure there's a section for those people does not obey the rules and next is if you really urge to play it is more ideal to do is make a non detected device like use of the VPN because you are the responsible with your actions.
Some gambling sites do not accept VPN in a way it would be blocked, some will accept it for bypassing but against the gambling site rules. Some gambling sites can block the account of a gambler because of VPN. The best that I think is that the government should allow gambling. This would protect their citizens from a lot of things that might arise if the gambling site wants to cheat them rather than staying mute when they were cheated by the gambling site. There is more risk involved if the citizens are not allowed to gamble.

It is also good to read the ToS of a gambling site cornering the use of VPN before you make use of the gambling site. But VPN is not advisable.

Some people have a certain image about gambling. If you don't gamble, it's much easier to use a more objective view of gambling, of course. Once you're in the position of gambling, it's hard to think objectively and rationally. Often you only think nice beautiful things so that you want and can continue to gamble. However, if you have lost your money, then the harsh reality soon emerges. Then of course it is already too late and after a few days you start to believe in your own dream world again.
