It's not about who win what. Eth and BTC both are in the top and they are two different coin. Btc is a payment gateway and use as many different way like in exchange. And it survive this market for a long time. So it gains people trust and most of the people trust it and that's why it's the core of the market. And whole market depends on it. And if you think about eth it's grew a new revolution in crypto space and it is one of the most popular platform token in this space. But now a days ICOs are not going well so the effect comes to eth's price. This market is very volatile so it's hard to say who gives more profit. At this time btc is showing more storng than eth. That's it.
Obviously Bitcoin is going to be the winner, not only this year but also on the next ten years, the support for Bitcoin is still overwhelming and will continue to be so for the years ahead of course anycoin can challenge Bitcoin but my vote will always be on Bitcoin.
As far as I'm concerned, Ethereum and bitcoin will be the winners of the year in addition to many other altcoins. I am sure this year we will start to see big profits from now on.
Thinking that the downfall in last months, i think we shouldn't talk about a winner in crypto currency world this year. maybe fourth quarter will be different than the previous ones in 2018

Ethereum is very low in cost and price when compared to Bitcoin. Bitcoin will retain its leading position in relation to all other coins and ETH in particular.

Both are winner because each coin has its own place in crypto world and people use both coins in whole world.Both have good projects in which people are investing money.But in case of bitcoin it is a best coin ever.
If I am asked about the winner of this year's crypto currency then I will see the winner of this crypto currency technologically. Technology means ethereum wins. Although ethereum does not occupy the top position but ethereum is technologically superior. Ethereum does not occupy a top position because it loses populatity and public trust in bitcoin. But I am sure that for the long term this ethereum will be very potential and can become a crypto currency leader. All just waiting for the right time. Technologically, ethereum is almost perfect because it has almost no defects in blockchain technology. And ethereum proved its benefits significantly. Ethereum is now nicknamed the king of ICO.
I think this year's winner is bitcoin. Bitcoin still has very potential control and influence for crypto currencies. I very much like these 2 coins. ETH and BTC is a basis of all crypto of the market. Both of them are very important. BTC is a standard in crypto, ETH - the most popular blockchain. These are excellent investments for long term. These coins make 75% of my crypto of a portfolio.
Although ETH's popularity and friendliness are more dominant than BTC, but ETH is born after BTC, they will forever be the junior of BTC. In my opinion if BTC does not exist anymore, then ETH can replace BTC 
I thought btc still would be best crypto lots chosen by the holder. In addition to the value of btc has a Community market that makes most of the bitcoin is always crowded despite being down in condition.
ethereum can not replace bitcoin positions, both have their respective advantages and disadvantages. we better focus to get the benefits of both, that's the real victory.

BTC was the winner last year,till now and it will be in next some years.Eth showed a good rise with some other altcoin also.

In the perspective of use case, cryptocurrency hasn't really been very successful yet. The war between cryptocurrency still continues, where people will decide on only one cryptocurrency as the main trading mechanism. Looking at the condition, the market seems to trust BTC more than ETH, which results in a constant increase of BTC price, and decrease of ETH price.

ETH is really a good platform, which is commonly used in most cases of altcoins today, but this does not solve the network problem of Bitcoin, so it will not have any good chance of surpassing Bitcoin this year, it will only be possible when Bitcoin flaws will be performed by the ETH , such as slow transaction confirmation ans block size
