I think both will improve their places in the crypto world . My opinion is ETH can't take the place of BTC in a near future because BTC is a coin which have a great user base and lot of holders . time grows the value of them day by day
I would have to go with btc, they have all taken some kind of hit so far but bitcoin has been the one that has been on multiple recoveries while ethereum has been struggling so much in the past couple of weeks. The coin cannot even follow the upward trend of bitcoin which is really bad for it so bitcoin is definitely the winner this year.
I have just started to use nicehash since I want to mine Ethereum and earn Bitcoin.
Although 90% of the tokens are now based on ERC-20, there is no guarantee that this will continue in the long term future. Ethereum can be highly vulnerable against advanced technologies and new altcoins.
Bitcoin is always a safe bet, since many other currencies have their price on a par with this one, besides being the first coin that comes to mind when people talk about cryptos, no matter how enthusiastic they may be about ETH I think bitcoin will end up better off, that doesn't mean that ETH will not end well, only that the value of bitcoin will increase exponentially.
I think that there is no competition that is happening in crypto between eth or btc, they both have their own popularity and they both have the capacity to give huge profit to its investors. We all know that bitcoin is the leader of all coins so there is no need to compare who is the winner.
I think that Bitcoin will win, although I think that these are different cryptocurrencies and they are not competitors. I think it will be good if both these cryptocurrencies will develop and grow in price.
It will certainly be Bitcoin even though it has gone down in price. We all agree bitcoin has a strong come back spirit that can make it surge high in price.

I believe that bitcoin will retain its leadership in the cryptocurrency market. and Ethereum will not be able to surpass bitcoin.
In terms of the value, Bitcoin is a head against Ethereum but in investing, Ethereum is better than Bitcoin as of now precisely that Bitcoin has reached its limit and maybe yes that Bitcoin is hard to surpass.
However, ETH could still surpass bitcoin, only if the total supply x price = more than what bitcoin capital is having now.

I still always think that bitcoin will always be the winner. I do not know when Bitcoin experienced a downward price, why are there still many people who really want bitcoin. bitcoin really has gone crazy.
for me i would say that, bitcoin has and would always be the best bet anytime anyday. so many ico's have evolved and most of them sell in ETH, so probably i can say that thus far, ETH is up there but bitcoin is just always on top of it all.

As long as bitcoin is still on the top till the end of this year, it still the winner. Many altcoins including ethereum still follow the price movements of bitcoin and mostly can't go up with the top coin is down. But if ethereum manage to go up continuously whatever the price of the bitcoin is, then it might possibly overtakes bitcoin several moths from now. The price of the second ranked cryptocurrency is still below $300 and it usually take time for the coin the to go up again unless something positive will happen in the market soon.

When the final quarter of the year begins we can come to know about the winner of the year. Till then, it is impossible to come to a conclusion. Importantly by the end of September we've got a big event which has got the potential to change the entire market scenario of the cryptocurrency network, over which the winner can be found.
Crypto-currencies work or function only because it is deemed to have value by all, same is true for bitcoin as well as other coins that come after it.Since bitcoin is clearly the leader in terms of the value people place on it, it deserves to be number one.
In my opinion, if I am asked about this year's winner then I still drop my choice on bitcoin. Indeed, bitcoin is still a very potential coin for the short term, although in the long run, I think that ethereum will be more potential. When viewed technologically at this time ethereum is already better than bitcoin. But ethereum hasn't gotten public trust and popularity as high as bitcoin so ethereum still occupies its position under bitcoin. Bitcoin as the king of crypto currencies still holds great control over the price of crypto currencies. All crypto currency prices are under the influence of bitcoin prices.
For me currently nobody is a winner. In last time we see only falls so for me both coins are loser, but now we have august, still have 4 months left so everything can be change
