I believe that the etherium will not jump through bitcoin. And bitcoin will remain in 2018 a finalist. I believe that by the end of the year, the currency should have risen by 40-50%.

Hello everyone!

Recently, I was thinkig. Is there really any reason for the BTC to be the market leader? The only thing that is giving the value to BTC is pretty much the fact, that it was the first crypto currency. It is the grandfather of all cryptos. But we know it has its flaws... It was never designed for broad usage, it has scaling issues and so on.

On the other hand, we were given ETH. The Crypto Kitties or w/e the awesome internet meme ETH appliction is called showed us, that ETH network has issues with high amounts of usage. BUT, 90% of all altcoins are based on the ERC-20 standard, brought to us by ETH. The smart contracts using the Solidity are extremly good piece of technolgy.

So my question is. Do you think, that BTC will keep its leadership, or will ETH be the winner of this year and surpass its ancestor?

Both of these coins are very popular both bitcoin and ethereum, it is very difficult to determine the two winners for this year, but for me, I will state that bitcoin is the winner for this year, everything in bitcoin is very difficult to compete with any crypto.

So far this year's price trend shows that ethereum has a better position than bitcoin. As it is now, but it's still a long way to go because we're waiting for bullrun and if ethereum repeats what happened last year then ethereum can win, and outperform the bitcoin market price.

The bitcoin keeps on the market more confident than the Ethereum. However, the year has not yet ended and the Ethereum can show significant growth.

But regarding the price of bitcoin and ethereum, there is still a large gap to fill in ethereum to reach bitcoin's peak price. But it will be possible soon but not this year. Ethereum is still struggle as its price as of now.

this year there seem to be no winner in terms of prices, but the progress is there, especially in etehreum network, which is great. I don't think we need to compare these two projects though

I still believe in Bitcoin. But I still do not despise Ethereum, because it is very strong.

It should not be a new thing to us all that bitcoin will always and surely be the winner if this year 2018 again. If you see the price of both bitcoin and ethereum now, you will realize it is going down everyday but the rate at which ethereum is dropping in price; it has left it in a state of very low price and it is even likely to reach a low of $200 soon. So bitcoin has had more stability in price that ethereum this year and it is predicted that it will reach $30,000  this year and ethereum is predicted to reach $15,000 when the bull market arrives. So you can see that bitcoin will surely be the winner of the this year 2018.

I think this year has no winner at all. All cryptocurrency lost a lot and still bleeding.
Maybe we can divert thread to less loser of the year, Eth or Btc.
If I think personally this year there will still be a winner, of course,
and I think the winner is bitcoin because for now it's difficult to beat bitcoin, of course
to be clearer, we just follow the progress until the end of the year

Of course it is bitcoin. I personally think that it is a king in the encryption market, just like the president of our country. Without a king, there can be no good market.
Ethereum is also very powerful, but it will never surpass Bitcoin.

This year has not been a good year for either coin, they both have lost a considerable amount of value overtime and most people are almost giving up, its therefore almost impossible to accurately tell which of  the two will finish  the year on the high, There are however hopes that the market will gain valuation and if it does, then we will be able o tell which of the two will finish higher

I think that by the New year bitcoin will grow to 10 000 dollars, and maybe more, as for ETH, its reduction is planned in proportion to BTC

I agree with you, there is just no sense why is Bitcoin still leading whole crypto market. With all the use cases, present and future ones, ETH definetly deserves to lead the market. Bitcoin is here as some investment, but I don't see it being used in the future.

Everyone at least knows something about bitcoin. Bitcoin is the leader of the cryptocurrency market. I like BTC more than ETH. It is more stable in my opinion and I put on the fact that by the end of the year bitcoin will reach a new high mark.

It's very early to sum up the result of what all the same now ETH will win or even BTC, it seems to me that it's too early to talk about it. I think that it is necessary to wait until the end of December to properly indicate the situation.

ETH will not happen to be superior to BTC for this year because to discuss it is still too early for ETH because ETH is not ready to replace Bitcoin and for this year it will still be held by BTC and that is also valid for several years ahead.

Both are winner , each has their own advantages and disadvantages but Ethereum can't replace the position of Bitcoin in the near future, Bitcoin still the leader and Ethereum in second place .

Taking a gander at the notoriety, marketcap, value instability; btc and eth will in any case contend in the market of crypto this year. None will be the victor totally.Price of btc and eth impacts each other. On account of and so on is bring down in value, it more mainstream for low and medium class financial specialists and must be acknowledged that eth venture picks up is higher than BTC. In outline, from venture picks up, eth is superior to btc yet in prevalence, btc is the champ.
