Botth coins are decreasing today . But I think bitcoin has the capablity or chance of winning this year because btc is famous or acknowledge by many people today than ethereum. But ethereum has the chance to become number one in near future.
I think btc will have more chance of pumping because btc is down and all this bear it will pump and i know it will be a crazy one
now comes the 6th month of 2018 and while we can say with confidence that both coins are the loser. their prices have fallen very much. but still bitcoin has a better chance of recovering the price. this is what many experts say.
they can be compared only in how much each of them fell in price not to compare on such indicator, they are nearby. everything will depend on how they behave in the next few months. how will the price change and what the external information background will be next to each of the coins.
I think since Bitcoin have lost the big percentage of its value, Ethereum will be a winner in this competition. And till the end of 2018 we can say that Ethereum was performing better.
But anyway I think in the year 2018 the winner still belongs to bitcoin,than we are curious about the winner in 2018 is better we just follow the development until the end of the year
bitcoin 100%. bitcoin for a long time will be at the leading positions. despite the fact that the etherium is technically better, investments in bitcoin will be more because it is the first coin and psychologically people slopes more towards bitcoin

Recently, I was thinkig. Is there really any reason for the BTC to be the market leader? The only thing that is giving the value to BTC is pretty much the fact, that it was the first crypto currency. It is the grandfather of all cryptos. But we know it has its flaws... It was never designed for broad usage, it has scaling issues and so on.
On the other hand, we were given ETH. The Crypto Kitties or w/e the awesome internet meme ETH appliction is called showed us, that ETH network has issues with high amounts of usage. BUT, 90% of all altcoins are based on the ERC-20 standard, brought to us by ETH. The smart contracts using the Solidity are extremly good piece of technolgy.
So my question is. Do you think, that BTC will keep its leadership, or will ETH be the winner of this year and surpass its ancestor?

ETH is the first among its competitors, but at the same time Bitcoin is not a competitor to Ethereum and will always remain king of the cryptocurrency.
I think ethereum will win. Ethereum is the best altcoin today. The ethereum market is developing very strongly. Ethereum has better features than bitcoin so many investors choose ethereum. The price of ethereum is rising rapidly, which increases the confidence of investors.
until whenever ethereum will never win against bitcoin in any way, we can see in terms of price until a few years too ethereum price will not be able to overtake bitcoin price, because when bitcoin price drops ethereum price also come down and it has proven that ethereum not will never win.
There are no winners at this time due to poor market conditions. the winner will be determined later this year. and I think eth is better than bitcoin when viewed from the increase and decrease in price.

1. practical use of blockchain - Ethereum is the undisputed leader here.
2. Price-bitcoin leader. Ethereum in the coming years will not overtake bitcoin in price.

I think this coins are very popular both the bitcoin and ethereum ,it is really hard to determined of the two which is the winner for this year, but for me I will declare bitcoin as winner for this year 2018.
As for me it is quite hard to say for sure because they are both strongly damaged after big dump in the firth quarter of 2018. But now Ethereum seems to be more perspective. Somebody even wait for ETH to be miner 1 the next year..
Ethereum is the better version of Bitcoin, while Bitcoin won by its price because Bitcoin was the first. Soon, Ethereum will beat Bitcoin.
Well, depending on what you mean by the word winner , I think ETH is a more promising coin than Btc
i think is tough. BTC will still lead the price this year and ETH will not even get near to the BTC selling price. Although ERC-20 has great technology. In my prediction, BTC still leads for the next 3-5 years. 
For now, however, the trend in the cryptocurrency market is not that strong and that is why most of the cryptocurrencies are actually down by more than 20% from their peak. In the future, Ethereum does hold a lot of potential.
personally I think the leadership is not related 100% with the utility of a coin rather it is related with the adoption and the media coverage of a coin. Which in this case seems to be btc still.
