Anyone here that is using Wirex to cash out some Bitcoin (convert to EUR), then send the money to a bank account by SEPA bank transfer? Heard they disabled this a few weeks ago but have not read any update about it.

The good thing about Wirex is they (used to?) offer a personal IBAN which can be convenient to move funds.

I doubt Bet365 can send more than your initial deposit to your card (100 EUR), usually these payouts are just a refund of the initial payment. I guess the remaining should be withdrawn by bank transfer.
Anyway just email them and tell them you want to withdraw all by bank transfer, usually they should let you do it.

No, they won't, I've been through this when I deposited a few $ via aa card and while playing and losing for a year (I only place small 1-3euro bets for fun) my card expired and when I registered a new card they've told me that they won't deposit the winning to the new ones unless deposits from the new card exceed the ones from the older one. Yeah...morons!

And I did receive more than 100euros from them via card deposits and it was no problem and if I remember correctly they did it in less than 48 hours.
F* AML regulation, I'm not going to risk my card and my betting account for this, I'll just wait slowly till I lose all the earning through the year... Grin

Back to wirex...

I got a notification about a 5 AUD donation on my behalf from wirex for the bushfires in Australia, and it said: "open the app to find out how"...I opened the app, I closed the app I opened and pushed and tapped and...you get the idea...anyone knowing how this works?

Sorry to hear, but by the way if your card was expired, but the new card was issued by the same bank (attached to the same bank account) then no big deal, the funds will still reach the bank account even though the card has expired. I am pretty confident about this but you can ask the question to your bank (or even Bet365 surely they should be aware of it).
Sorry again for the off topic.

I've got that notification in the busiest moment, so I've just deleted it.
Now that you're asking, I've done a bit of research and I have 2 links for you:

They've supposedly improved since then, but I've not had the courage to test, to be honest, but I'll likely start needing them more, so hopefully they've got everything working as it should now.

Best way to use wirex without a headache, use only the things that rely more on VISA than on them.  Grin

I've kept using their card for purchases now and then and I must say that for a long time there have been zero hiccups with the app and more impressive I'm getting the notifications for the purchases pretty damn fast, sometimes even before leaving the store and that is almost on par with my ING banking app.

As for their bank transfer, I'm having a dilemma for a while...
By mistake, I've deposited 100 euros to bet365 from this card, not my usual, and due to some really really lucky results over at Kempton, I'm around 650 right now. Should I withdraw them as bet365 will only allow me to withdraw to the card from which the account was funded?
I have a bad feeling about this, don't know why

Unlike the US companies in Europe are delighted to let people destroy their lives by using cards to deposit to betting sites.

This thread - https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/wirex-is-shit-1904432  references using them with a betting site. Wirex are on there and they say nothing about it being a problem. Don't listen to me though.

After no matter how many updates the app still takes 3-5 minutes of warming up before it'll show me any content. It's the same on a tablet so it's not the phone. I haven't used it in quite some time.

I have a hard time deciding if Wirex sucks or if just their support staff is comprised entirely of fucking idiots.

And NOW my Wirex account isn't even working because they're asking for proof of address... again. I say ok, fine, I'll upload a bank statement from TODAY, because that's one of the options available: a bank statement no older than 3 months. Then I get an email saying that I actually need to submit the proof I submitted before for proof of address. But the POA they accepted before was my national ID. And they say I can't use that, because I used it to reverify my proof of identity. They are fucking dead brain morons. They should bring back the live chat, cause they're nothing short of incompetent.

proof of address -> a friend of mine have had only troubles with the support staff and is thinking nearly the same as you
-> has a feeling as for chating only wiht dumb bots...

he told me  Angry Sad Sad Sad

What issues have you had?

I've read so many complaints about wirex bank transfers I haven't done a single one.

It seems to be the primary bone of contention.

My bad for not making a summary. I've basically had an euro withdrawal "lost in the void" for 1,5/2 months. Support wasn't really helpful at first, but given they've ended up solving the matter, I believe the issue was on their banking partner and not Wirex. They've supposedly improved since then, but I've not had the courage to test, to be honest, but I'll likely start needing them more, so hopefully they've got everything working as it should now.

Had a look at their Twitter and forum (they've deleted Telegram not long ago) and I do not see as many complains as I've seen back then. And it seems good alternatives still don't really exist, at least for my use case. Plus, their card works great.

the fact that they want me to take a pic of my ID with my phone and sending it (I ALWAYS add a watermark in my ID with the words 'for use of XYZ only' to prevent identity theft)

Nothing you said prevents you from submitting your ID watermaked.

That being said, you are free to reconsider, but I believe account termination is something not prevalent enough for it to be considered as a factor for reconsidering a signup.

Given that I came to post here... Anyone doing bank transfers as of lately on Wirex? Wonder if the issues I've had are still "common"

Dear xxxxxxx,

We regret to inform you that it has been decided to terminate our cooperation.

Kindly note that in accordance with our Terms & Conditions (https://wirexapp.com/terms-and-conditions) we reserve the right not to provide the details of the account closure reason.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation on this matter.

Well, this speaks really very very bad of them. Long life crypto and the fact you're REALLY the owner of your funds.

I was about to order a card today but this message and the fact that they want me to take a pic of my ID with my phone and sending it (I ALWAYS add a watermark in my ID with the words 'for use of XYZ only' to prevent identity theft) have made me reconsider my decision.

Read on Twitter that there was an unscheduled maintenance on their site and app while they were pumping their own coin.
Hilarious stuff.  These guys cannot be trusted too much IMO.

Dunno why I still cling to this...

I still make occasional use of it without any hiccups. I can't be bothered to figure out whether it costs more than the Coinbase card when you include its spread and the 1% fee. That there's a spread at all rather annoys me.

Despite 3-4 updates since the problem first emerged, the app still takes a couple of minutes for everything to load. It's blank until then. This happens on multiple machines. No idea what the issue is.

Dunno why I still cling to this...

In the morning I entered my next-door shop, grabbed a coffee to go, opened my wallet, ..eh let's use the wirex card as I do once in a while.
Error, some error the clerk had no idea what it was, didn't bother, used the normal ING card.

Opened my app, wirex was under maintenance, but they clearly stated cards and wallets work, no they didn't!
Two hours later, maintenance was completed it seems, my balance (that was on the card) was missing, instead of cards I had an order card button
Closed, reopened, another two hours, closed the app opened it, in vain, I was getting annoyed so I said it's time to stop, planned on withdrawing y funds from it, but....surprise, the exchange to bitcoin did not work.

And so, now that time has passed probably I'll forget about and still continue to use it now and then if it's going to work.
But I don't understand why am I still clinging to this piece of...plastic and their outrageous fees.
Probably it's either because I'm lying to myself I'm spending bitcoin when using it or helping the god knows what or I'm just a bit of a masochist...

Seriously? What the hell is this bs?
We're gonna seize your funds, we won't tell you why but thank you and goodbye!

In certain parts of the world they're prohibited by law to tell you why they've shut you down.

I treat it as the hottest of hot wallets and run in and out as rapidly as possible. I've never been booted from a service yet but I'm prepared for it.

The problem with services like this is that they're so convenient people wind up getting too deep into them. I well remember the Wavecrest instant shutdown. There were people tweeting having travelled to Cambodia with literally no other form of payment on them asking how they were supposed to remain alive.

Well I'm sure my country is not on any blacklist. And I currently reside in an EU country which also should be ok. My guess is that either I hit some kind of limit (but why haven't they just blocked the topups/withdrawals in this case?) or perhaps they were contacted by my country''s tax office and all accounts of the residents of this country were closed (very unlikely).

And surely this is not my only card - I have 2 backup bitcoin friendly cards and like 3-4 cards of local banks.
