To commodify ethicality is to ethicise the market

30 Mh/s on average
0.017097 BTC/day I rented for 12 hours(that was the maximum)
Scrypt

Don't take it. The price will have to be lower than 0.00521158 BTC/day.

Since yours is for only 12 hours, its effective rate is double the one advertised. So you'd make a fat loss.

Camp out on miner rental pages and see if a cheap one comes along.

Otherwise wait until a brand new coin is released, mine it, and sell after the coin pumps. (Make sure it'll get pumped first, of course.)

Could one theoretically use XCurrency as an escrow to anonymously transfer bitcoins?
More specifically build an app on top of XC like QiBuck but with the purpose of mixing bitcoins, preferably having the mixing pool pooled from multiple shares? This is maybe a bit meta, but building a bitcoin wallet on-top of the XCwallet platform that could serve as a dark wallet?

That's a tricky thing. It was suggested in an XC discussion but it's not clear how it would be done. One option would be to trade BTC for XC, send the XC privately and then trade back into BTC. An app could do this. A decentralised exchange would be necessary for this to meet XC's security standards.

Alternatively we could try implement XC's tech in a new, weird Bitcoin wallet. But it wouldn't be compatible with the Bitcoin network. So that's a bit of a complicated task. Not sure how it would be done.

Great idea. There's definitely a market for anonymising BTC.

I'll keep throwing ideas at the team for features I would want to use myself hoping some will stick Smiley

By all means, keep on! Discussions of this nature are always valuable.

I genuinely don't believe that any currency really can compete with bitcoin.

That'll certainly be the case for the mid-term future. But if an altcoin captures the mobile market then I think it'll smash Bitcoin.

Quote
But I believe that there will be a complementary market where alt coins will add functionality, but their adoption success will depend on their ability to integrate (ease of use) with bitcoin from an end-user perspective. Brokers like mintpal are great for traders but don't expect an end-user to buy XCurrency for operating fees through a broker, that process has to be simplified significantly.

I agree. Implementing Bitcoin-related features is a clear (though rather competitive) line to take.
Quote
XC will be integrated into ATMs later down the roadmap and this physical presence could help with rate of adoption but preferably you just load your wallet with bitcoin and get XC either to spend, send or store for later.

Personally I'd like to charge my wallet with fiat, which is of course exchanged for XC in the process.

Synechist, the SHA256 cant be true, do we have any more data? It is way too profitable right now, I mean if it is like 100% off it will still be profitable

No-one's mining SHA256 right now. Where are you seeing that data?

the shift payouts!

Because no-one's mining SHA256, the figures on the payouts page are not accurate.

Dan will be putting an ASIC on the SHA256 pool before long, and that'll make things easier to work from.

I just rented a pool for 12 hours, similar to this one but 30 MH/s, for the same price as that one, is that profitable?

You rented a pool?

You should rent a miner, and then use it on the XC multipool.

What's the price?

What algorithm?

I mean a miner, my bad.

If there will be announcements Monday that we have yet to hear of, can you give us any hints as to what they are about?  I know you love to tease.  Grin

For those who are catching up:

4 days until #XCurrency releases its #coinjoinkiller, the finalised Rev 2!
           #XC #privacy #tech #leader

Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/XCurrency?fref=ts

- The XC Multipool is working wonderfully and is in its final stages of beta.
- Rent a miner and try it out!

- There may be an updated test release of the finalised Rev 2 today.

Please tell us the time is will be released.

What kind of miner works for the Multipool and does it generate profit?

The time will not be announced. However it will not be late at night for people in the EU.

There will, in fact, be several announcements on Monday though. I'm pretty excited.

The multipool mines scrypt, x11 and sha256 coins. Feel free to rent any kind you like. Scrypt is the most profitable at the moment I think.

For profitability, at the moment you'd need a rig for less that 0.00521158 BTC/day for Scrypt, and less than 0.00014255 BTC/day for x11.
