Can anybody describe to me perspectives of the Monero?

I don't understand why the developers made integration with i2p. IMO, it is expedient, because CN technology ensures the safety of coins at a high level

It's the last little bit where you want to mask your traffic to the point where an attacker with access to your router can't even determine that you're using Monero. The CryptoNote protocol is VERY easy to detect in its current form.

Isn't i2p damn slow?

if you want it to become very attractive in a short time
contact some owner-commerce sites
who are in the tor network
and propose to insert XMR
you will see that in a short time
get to x30 than it is worth now

Nonsense.

XMR has a relatively narrow user base, as much of the coin is being mined by the botnets. For instance, 4 MH/s botnet was discussed on #monero-dev and this is one botnet only, which gives about 240M difficulty. God knows how many of them there are actually, but my guess is more than 80% of the whole hash rate.

I've been writing a week ago that as long as this is the case, the price doesn't have any fundamental drivers to go up. As you can see nothing has changed and the price is slowly going down as the botnet owners continue to downsell Monero. This is a very profitable short term business for them, and a bit risky too, so they have to make quick profit.

Indeed, external news may boost the exchange rate, but only in the very short term, since bear factors are dominant for this currency.

Why the fuck isn't XMR surpassed DRK yet, XMR is the only good anonymous coins, the rest are SHITTY GIMMICKS. This coin should be at 0.1. People aren't aware of the value of this coin. In a fair world with common sense this coin would eat Litecoin alive.

DRK was pumped hard, big hype, artificial demand due to masternodes bullshit 1000DRK limit.

Not sure if this is possible but it would be amazing if you could implement any of the following notification methods when a trade of yours is executed (all optional):

- chrome desktop notifications (see https://developer.chrome.com/extensions/notifications )
- audio notification (e.g the beep you hear on blockchain.info when your wallet makes or recieves a transaction)
- email notifications.

Obviously with email you would need to avoid spam if someone is making lots of small buys/sells into a large order of yours, so maybe only email when an order is completely filled. But having any of the above notification methods as an option would be much appreciated.

Personally i don't like the idea of making mining possible on 32-bit machine. That would allow massive botnet to hop in since majority of botnet is made from these old 32-bit computers.

Too late.

It is certainly better to have such code public than have it first in private hands of an evil botnet operator Smiley I am sure many is better than a few on this one.
Monero needs much higher hashrate so there is not only few miners like there presently is. I think currently it feels like there are a few big ones that are milking so many coins each day that they don't care to dump a lot every day.

If anybody could come up with some estimates of the botnet hashpower we could expect from this move to 32bit, i would gladly read it, but it's probably a pure guess. Too many variables, so i would just stick with the fundamentals and welcome the increased hashrate from all the people that can now participate with older hardware and perhaps from some friendly botnet operators that could like the idea of an anonymous currency and hold on to their coins a bit.

I have my own opinion on this.

Few months ago I was a DRK holder and believed in Evan Duffield. I still suppose he is honest person. But his developer skill is not sufficient for such a fundamental thing as anonymity.

Moreover, I made some profit trading DRK, and withdrew (with converting) it to cold BTC wallet during first DRK deploy fail (to the main net), when first hard fork issue damaged the DRK world-wide. I did quickly understood, at that 1st crush, DRK has no future.

But how much was my astonishment, that few days later DRK price returned to the almost previous top. So I could relax, wait few days, and STILL could withdraw/convert DRK to BTC with high profit!

That's all about human psychology. It works the way I can not predict, the fully irrational way.

The most beautiful demo of such an psycho effect was during SECOND DRK deploy fail. Price had repeated the come-back effect, and if I were crazy stupid I could make almost the same profit TWICE! But I had turned to XMR already to that moment.

Your question is much more deeper than it appears. May be not to be discussed for this thread, if you will resume on another - let me know. Smiley

All we being XMR holders & adopters should extract a lesson from DRK destiny. But currently I absolutely don't imagine what such a lesson consist of... Sad

Somehow perverse to quote Keynes in a bitcoin forum, but really he got it right, at least in this instance: 'The market can remain irrational longer than you can remain solvent.'  The good news is that if you believe in XMR and have some spare funds you can just buy and hold until the irrationality comes to an end - which it always does, eventually.  The worst that can happen is that you lose 100 percent of your presumably already disposable investment, since there is no need for leverage here (the sky is literally the limit for real potential profit). Finally, if you buy some XMR and then the price drops, keep in mind (a) that there really was no way of knowing what was going to happen before it happened, and (b) with the market still far from being liquid, there is a reasonably high chance that it was your own purchase that set the wheels in motion for the subsequent drop (in ways that even a clairvoyant with PhDs in psychology and economics would be unable to figure out).  Finally number 2: if you are a serious XMR investor, for Pete's sake don't obsess over getting the perfect entry price: (a) nobody buys at the bottom, which can only be known in retrospect, (b) if the coin really takes off then you will have plenty of opportunity to hang on that much longer before selling (or better still, spending with) it, and thus secure the same ROI overall.  Finally number 3: personally I would worry much more about not getting in the game right now and missing a huge and permanent spike in the near to medium future than about the price dropping after you make your purchase.

Hitbtc - I have a couple of suggestions for you, small but important for me at least.
1) It would be great if you could set the trading page to automatically display in the currency pair you use the most instead of USD/BTC.
2) Fees - at the moment there's no breakdown of transaction fees given at the point of transaction, or info as to when fees are deducted. It would be helpful to have this kind of information more up-front so people aren't shooting in the dark.

Hope that's helpful.
Thank you! We will add these improvements in future. In the meantime, we are ready to transfer your reward. Please contact us at [email protected]

I'd also like to suggest some ideas:
1) A depth chart would be really helpful when trading
2) Also trailing stop or atleast stop loss would be really nice
3) Another important thing is a list of all trades made with a particular trading-pair - not just from me

Thanks
Understood!

We should avoid techno elitist attitudes.

The fact the current CN code demands a 64bit system because it handles data inefficiently and clumsily.  This is embarrassing for Monero, and certainly it's biggest current flaw.

Insulting the end users does not help the problem, and might damage the reputation of the currency.

The 32 bit thing is embarrassing. Also never insult the end user.

This needs to be fixed. Are any of the Monero developers able to fix it?

I know not everyone follows the conversations in #monero-dev on Freenode, so to keep everyone in the loop: work on this is already progressing. You can follow the progress by checking tewinget's databasing branch: https://github.com/tewinget/bitmonero/tree/blockchain

Guys, I don't understand why Monero has 1135 votes on Hitbtc, but it is available to exchange now. How did this happen?

That was easy. Creators of the Monero bought "the place"on the exchange for its coins

Actually we weren't pushing hitbtc voting at all, most of the core team weren't even aware of their posts in this thread, and next minute they just went ahead and added us. We haven't paid them anything, as I'm sure they will confirm.

If you're still running 32-bit, you probably are a senior or something and shouldn't be messing with magic internet money.

+1 lol

The majority of internet-connected computers are 32-bit, no PAE.

It is a serious freaking problem.

Well i didn't say that but i still tend to agree with it. Who the heck runs a 32 bit machine any more? Like actually tell me someone you know who does and isnt >90 years old.
Most smartphones?

Many modern smartphones are 64-bit:) Also, the solution for smartphones (and most desktops, I would imagine) will be SPV-style thin clients, and not full nodes.
