I think it's a good idea to explain the pillars of Monero but in my opinion I don't think is a good idea to display the gold, cash and bitcoin. Wouldn't it be better to show an icon with the blockchain+privacy+digital coin. Perhaps, a cool icon mixing a blockchain map(1), a lock(2) and a coin being created out of 1&2 and binary numbers fading from the coin to imply that's digital.

It's just an idea  Wink

Am I missing something? How is cash digital?

Wire transfer, interact transfer, visa, etc.  You can transfer fiat electronically in many ways however none of them are decentralized.

Nor private.

IMO that diagram is confusing: Fiat money can't be digital and private at the same time, it can be private only in the form of cash, which is not digital.

It works fine if you just remove the dollar bills from the "digital" circle and only put them in the "private" circle.

That sounds like fiat.  To me cash is both the physical and private form of fiat.

I don't know what CPU miner that is but with the right one you should get something like 150 from CPU alone. Try 3 threads for a start.

And which is the right one?

I use yam for the cpu
look here if want to use that pool.

I dont think that gpu can give much...how much does it say?

I don't wanna change pools.
It says 70 H/s for the CPU.

Use the the yam miner- it should give better than you are getting now.
The gpu is pretty useless for mining.

Crypto is the separation of Power and State.
And which is the right one?

$ represents the idea of centrally organized fiat.  Especially the US dollar, but all of them really.

The pic looks like a good hard asset portfolio to me.  20% BTC, 20% Gold, 20% cash, 40% Monero.

Hey guys,

I have got a question regarding XMR mining.

Currently I use my Intel Core I7 3630QM + my Nvidia Quadro K1000M GPU for mining.

Compared they have a hashrate from about 80 H/s (which isn't realy much I know).

My CPU setting: miner -t 6 -a cryptonight -o stratum+tcp://mine.moneropool.com:3333 -u Adress -p x
My GPU setting: ccminer -o stratum+tcp://mine.moneropool.com:3333 -u Adress -p x

Is there any space for improvements in the settings?

If I would buy extra mininghardware... what would you recommend me? CPU's? GPU's? Which ones?

Is there a hardware comparison anywhere?

Regards Smiley

The only hardware that might make sense to buy for mining would be GPUs since they are cheaper than CPUs (and don't need a whole computer for each one). Even there you will have trouble making enough to pay for the equipment. But if you think you will mine for a long time (or sell used) it could be worth it.

Good news. They're going to ban cash anyways, so a bunch of the work is already done.

People don't know exactly why being 'fungible' is so important , but they know it's from the future and they want it!   Cool

binaryFate, simple and neat.  I have learned to always give great weight to what you say whether they are small things or of great importance.

smooth, good points.  How best to do this?

iCEBREAKER, yes cryptocurrency is redundant.  After reading many posts on bct it seems that people don't really know what fungibility is so I don't know if it is a key selling point.  After all btc is fungable  Grin so therefore I guess all cryptocurrencies are.  Please take the emoticon as irony, sarcasm or whatever emotion I was trying for Tongue

I just felt it was important to get every on board properly.  Taking into account those that do not spend enough time to know all that is going on and those that are relatively new.

Then there are the slow ones.  This post took me over 1/2 an hour.

Thank you for your consideration, The Drooling Masses™

I vote for Hueristic's enigmatic submission.

"[XMR] Monero - The Future, Fungible || Mandatory: v0.9.1"

People don't know what 'fungible' means because it has several (overlapping/conflicting/contextual/technical/economic/casual/controversial/radial) definitions.

That intriguing vagueness is a good thing.

People don't know exactly why being 'fungible' is so important , but they know it's from the future and they want it!   Cool
