Ripple does outperform Ethereum in terms of market share, but they are very different:

- Ripple is centralized — at least for supply.
- Ethereum is decentralized.
- Ethereum can be mined.
- Ripple is a fixed supply — but Ripple Labs holds uncirculated Ripple in escrow.
- Ethereum on Coinbase.

Besides that they have their respective sectors so they will not compete, so don't be afraid to invest in one of them, because their prices I don't think will affect each other.

I am greatly amazed by eth continuous remain at number two position on the Coinmarketcap, it is so surprising how much eth has fallen. The fall is epic and it appears it has not gotten to bottom yet. Eth is a great utility coin and I think the massive sell off as exchanged with most failing ICO coins is equally responsible for the price drop. We hope it gets bigger again

The last time i checked, XRP is a centralized project with strong developing team putting things in other for the project in General. That aside, it will still be wrong to judge a book by its cover as i think ETH is still a better project than XRP. The only coin better than ETH in the space is Bitcoin. ETH have been used on numerous occasions by different ICO project and there is what we call Wear and Tear in science and i think that is what ETH is currently going through at present.

Based on the price, yes XRP is quite better than ETH right now, but if you'd actually compare it without the price and just basically compare the 2 Alts, I'd put XRP on top 3 and still put ETH on top 2, because I know that this is just a temporary breakdown for ETH, and if it does make a comeback it will also probably regain that 2nd spot on the market, but to be unbiased with between the 2 alts, you just really gotta admire what XRP is gaining and getting that 2nd spot in the market.

For me, the most popular coin for investment right now is Ethereum. Of course, Ripple is also a great solution for investment, now it is the second coin on the crypto market. But in the near future, Ethereum will regain its leading position again thanks to the release of updates.

I don't think XRP is better than Ethereum although at present XRP is at 2nd Rank in coinmarket by market capitalization and trading volume after Bitcoin but it is not permanent. Ethereum will cross XRP soon.

Ethereum. On my opinion lots of investors go to XRP because of the rank number got by xrp. But not means xrp better to eth. Well see after bitcoin raise again. Ethereum take that place again and no one can replace it.

Personally, I do not think so. Of course, Ripple is a reliable cryptocurrency and an excellent choice for investment. But for now, Ethereum remains my favorite. Its all about marketing and taste. Mac's are not better than PC's, they are just marketed better. Ripple is not better than ETH; it is just better at creating a hype.

I don't even know why Ripple is listed on coinmarketcap. To be honest there should be several sublists on coinmarketcap.

1) Crypto currencies (Bitcoin, Dash, Monero, Eth etc)
2) Stable coins (USDT, Gemini Dollar etc
3) Ripple, EOS (all those centralized digital tokens)

Ripples are indeed developing, and the team is indeed quite good by taking advantage of the current red market. Its position gives investors better confidence when eth values fall. Many are lacking reflex with Riak, but this is a good opportunity to continue to win the hearts of investors.
