Pfizer is the widely used vaccines and we are yet to see any side effects but the rest of the vaccines showed signs of side effects to certain patients and now everyone who is planning to get vaccinated looks for Pfizer. So is this lottery conducted by the Pfizer pharmaceutical company or the government promoting the company  Cheesy.

Both Pfizer and Moderna have the highest efficacy for any of the COVID vaccines (~95%). I was fortunate enough to receive two doses of the Pfizer vaccine as my country mostly use Pfizer for vaccination here. But my friends and relatives in India has to rely on less efficient vaccines such as Covishield and COvaxin, as the authorities there are not ready to approve any other brand. After months of bargaining, they approved a third vaccine (Sputnik V), but they put a lot of obstacles on administration and so far only a few thousand people have managed to get vaccinated using Sputnik V.

thats a lot of prizes but is there a people that willing to move from poland from this ?
that was crazy and i dont think they will allow it and even the prize is attractive ,
there will be people that will value their health and wont participate because they are afraid of the effects of the vaccine .

But unfortunately only 35% of the people in Poland are vaccinated yet.
its unfortunate for those who want more people to get vavcinated but it was fortunate for the people that participates in the draw because they got more chance of winning .

Different initiatives have been taken by different governments around the world to make people vaccinated. Pfizer is tested to be more effective than other vaccines, so people can get vaccinated without any big fear. Already few States of US have done such promotion providing million dollar prize.

Yup, Pfizer needs to work hard to supply the vaccine to other countries if the other country follows to give a lottery prize to their people.

But people in Poland should be glad to see a lottery prize given to the winner and I think that can succeed as what the USA did. It can attract enthusiasm from the people to get vaccinated. Hopefully, it is not because of the political reason behind that lottery prize because the government has much plan that we do not know.

These are some pretty good incentives.

I personally think that these vaccination incentives which involve an element of chance are certainly very effective, from both a marketing perspective by playing on people's psyche and also from a public helath perspective.

Most people, when presented with a surefire $1 reward or a lottery ticket with 0.1% chance of winning $1,000, will take the latter.

And plus, this is great advertisement for the national lottery post-pandemic. Absolutely a great play.

This to me is a weird way of trying to encourage people to take the vaccine is feels like they are coercing the population. I am not against the vaccine at all and I do encourage everyone to have the vaccine but offering something like this just seems wrong. I get that they are trying to increase their vaccination levels and make Poland a safer place with less covid restrictions but I think the incentive of that alone without the usage of the possibility of winning a large amount of money would be enough you know saving lives. I wonder how many other countries will take this approach.

So i wont be surprised that citizens would really have doubts and also lottery odds isnt really appealing most of the time and isnt worth the risk.
Those news sources do not link to any credible studies and they are only reporting that there has been a person who happened to have side effects and died. The studies do not show that there is definitely a link there and they are inconclusive. Though I understand what you mean with news spreading worrying titles and articles like this around no wonder people are hesitant about getting the vaccine.

It’s like some perks of being vaccinated especially for gamblers who already wants to play in real casino, as well people see when some known companies promotes it it may have its advantages.  There are also some countries who only allows tourist provided they finish dose of pfizer vaccine. Those who want to travel already indeed choose to have pfizer than any other brands unfortunately its not yet readily available for every country like in my place wherein the tag line “the best vaccine is the available vaccine” since only few can be dose with pfizer. Hopefully there will be a vaccine that will fully work in all covid variants to avoid covid permanently.

Months before we heard a news where to increase the chances of people getting vaccinated they government gave them a chance to win prizes, lotteries and even in some countries you are allowed to travel for free. Yet again the Government of Poland announced quite an unusual prize for people who have gotten pifzer. You are eligible to participate in the lottery plus the prizes are up to 260,000$!!!! Which is a great news. But unfortunately only 35% of the people in Poland are vaccinated yet. Not only that read this :

From 1 July every 500th person to take the dose will receive a cash prize of PLN200, while every 2,000th person will receive PLN500. The Polish Government will be giving away five prizes of PLN50,000 every week for three months, alongside the incentive each month to receive PLN100,000 and a Toyota Corolla for two lucky winners. The final winners will scoop up the PLN1m and a Toyota CH-R each... If you were thinking of moving to Poland, then now’s your chance. And if you need an electric scooter, they’re flogging them too, 720 to be precise.

Now that's a gamble that you gotta try! If you are from Poland then you have to get the shot! I do think this is an interesting gamble for the people there what do you think ? ?

This is without a doubt interesting, there is a group of people in every single country that is not going to want to take the vaccine and since it is their right then there is nothing to do, but there are other people that may like to get the vaccine and they do not have the necessary motivation and this could be exactly what we need, some may not like this as they may think governments are deceiving people but to me any measure that helps to increase the number of people being vaccinated is a good measure as long as we are not forcing people to take the vaccine.

I haven't done the vaccine only because I worked in an environment from August 2020 until December 2020 where all of my colleagues were infected with Covid 19.They stopped coming to work but they were there before they knew they were infected so I was all the time with them and I didn't get Covid at all. This boosted my thinking that I can be somewhat immune to this so until now,no vaccination whatsoever for me.I believe in Pfizer as my parents have done it,being old in age and having not problems or side effects from this vaccine.

Poland and all countries with such strategy are doing great so far.

Nothing lasts forever
That's the second time I am hearing a country is providing something for getting vaccinated. It's a good attempt from the government to get their citizens vaccinated.
The first time I head of something like this was when US citizens were getting a free beer for getting vaccinated.
I think this is a win win strategy both for the government and the citizens.

Many states are coming up with this sort of plans to encourage people to get vaccinated so as to boost their immunity and less cases are reported for covid in the country which is somehow positive and negative also according to me because people should take themselves take initiative to take the vaccine and other is government is giving some sort of Rewards to citizens. In many countries this is happening like offering free beer, million dollars lottery, passes and many others.Poland on the other hand have only 37 million population and birth rate is slow compared to death rate and expected population in 2050 will only be 32 million so government is also worried and want healthy residents to boost economy also.So it is sort of encouragement only and 100 out of 1 will win but 100 will be vaccinated so this is politics at big level.

I just want to clarify something about the subject of the thread. Does it mean that the lottery will only be given to those who got themselves inoculated with the vaccine coming from Pfizer? What about those people who got inoculated with vaccines coming from other pharmaceutical companies such as AstraZeneca, Moderna, and others?

This has become a sort of a reward mechanism in many areas of the world just to make sure people would forget their fears about the vaccines.

The US state of Ohio recently had such a lottery, for those underwent vaccination. And following this, many of the other states came up with their own version of the vaccination lottery. But the case with Poland is different. Not enough vaccine doses are not available in that country. So I don't really understand the point in coming up with a lottery. It may work, if enough doses are available and people are not ready to get themselves vaccinated (similar to the case in Russia). But what is the point they are trying to make, when the supplies are not available?

They are doing everything they can do to get them people vaccinated, don't they?  Cool

Somebody is trying really hard to get everybody vaxxed which is pretty suspicious.

If you were going to stabbed already, sure go for it and take advantage of the lottery. If you are getting vaccinated only to participate in the lottery then you are a fool.

It is like tricking a kid with a candy. They probably know that most people are just pretending to be adults but in reality, they are just dumb kids.

I don't request loans~
it is clear that this is one of Pfizer's marketing tricks that are working with the government to attract more citizens who need to be vaccinated

my country's government makes different rules so that its citizens are willing to be vaccinated, they limit the movement of people who have not been vaccinated, such as not being able to buy plane tickets, buses, or ships

this makes me a little annoyed because actually being vaccinated or not is a human right, every citizen has the right to choose
Well if every citizen has the right to choose, then the government, as the leading organization responsible for managing the safety of public places, should also be allowed to uphold laws that limit the movement of those people who weren't vaccinated right? Idk why, it's just simple common sense tbh. It's not like the Coronavirus is a myth, being vaccinated to combat it seems like the natural course imo. Ofc, granted that supply is not really enough for the demand, there would naturally be some that wouldn't be vaccinated, but any problems that can be solved with time doesn't really seem to be a problem imo.

It makes much more sense to have many smaller and regular prizes that people can enjoy rather than huge prizes that very few people will enjoy - also helps prolong the offer. I especially like the PLN500 every 2,000 jabs although hopefully they have a system in place to make sure it is determined fairly, as it seems it could be vulnerable to a little bit of abuse by an insider. It's surprising to see the vaccination rate is still relatively low, but then supply has been a bit random and the EU negotiating method for vaccines was very slow, then they decided to threaten some vaccine suppliers to cover their own incompetency. The EU institutions and individual governments handled the program very poorly, especially when they caused hesitation by changing their minds multiple times against the advice of the medical regulator in order to score political points.
