The NBA and WNBA bubbles are an inconsistent mess

Thanks @Russlenat, this is a great news, Jokic playing for the playoffs and he is fully healthy, my worries are gone now, this team would really surprise big teams when the playoffs starts.

Great news for our man Jokic, he is cleared to play and though he did not travel with his teammates but he will be going to orlando.

We are going to see him play when the NBA resume as he is confirmed negative from covid-19.

Nuggets' Nikola Jokic cleared after testing negative for COVID-19, but wasn't on team's flight to Orlando

To summarize it, it's not about filling the team with shooters and superstars.
It's about hard work.

I think many of us watched The Last Dance.
IMO, it actually portrays how Jordan pushed all his teammates to work harder.
Why? Because he cannot do it all. He knows it, the team knows it, and it fits the style of Phil Jackson.
At the end of the day, they're still a team. It's not about dragging one another down, it's about pushing everyone up to achieve one goal.
The championship.

Everyone talks about having shooters around players, you should have shooters around Lebron, you should have shooters around simmons, you should have shooters around embiid. Hell even curry has shooters around him and he is a shooter himself! I am sorry but there are not that many shooters in the league that can play defense that well at the same time. For example Danny Green is known as "icyhot" but sometimes he shoots very well and we know he is a great defender, or maybe marcus smart, basically there are some few players that you would have on a championship, you are going to make Kyle Korver or JJ. Reddick your main starter and an important piece to become a champion, could you? Sure if rest of the team is awesome but thats about it.

So all in all, league doesn't have too many klay thompsons, sixers can't get that many shooters around embiied and simmons, JJ was their guy for that but he lacked defense. If someone instead of paying horford that much money, they get Klay one day, that would really make them a championship contender without a doubt, but I do not see Klay leaving warriors anytime soon.

They can developed that, remember Fred VanVleet of toronto he play good defense while helping also with their offense, sixers
have the complete sets of players who can play as their go to guy, it's all about the team systems
and how coaches will design and build good chemistry.
Shooters needs to adjust and create not only space but also a good help depending their assign
opponents, they can't shoot all day long but also needs to be part of the  system to play defense.

So all in all, league doesn't have too many klay thompsons,
They don't need a Klay Thompson type of player to succeed, that's already too much for them given they have already the talent and they just lack few role players. I think it's still easy to find good 3 point shooters as the NBA has already evolved and most players even big man are already training to shoot 3 points.

we can find here the list of good 3 point shooters in the NBA.

Like I said, they don't need Klay, and there's no way Klay would leave his team, he might just retire as a Warrior as he is loved by the fans, and he already get a maximum salary on this team. He is now one of the top earners in the NBA.

Plus, contrary to what others think I find Ben Simmons not "that" good, everyone acts like a super star but I think he is just a "good" player at max all-star level but not super star level.
Simmons is very good player, but not good fit with Philadelphia 76s, and their current roster. In general, I don;t think that Embiid and him are not good fit, and I don't see them winning NBA championship while playing together and having this type of players around them.

Same goes for Embiid, he would be even better with diferent type of players, 76s need more shooters to  spread the floor and give Embiid more room. Hell, in that case maybe Even Simmons and Embiid would work together. But Philadelphia management decided to go different way.

There is something out there. Although they have different positions, the attack model is very similar. Both go to the ring, the 76th would be someone like Trae Young, or Damian Lillard.
But again, here you need to build an attack strategy and not just how to assemble a random team in allstars.

Recently, there was a rumor that Damian Lillard is demanding a trade, maybe he can go with the Philadelphia 76ers, but AFAIR, he only mentioned 2 teams, the LA Lakers and the Knicks. You gave him an idea now, lol.. he could really fit with the 76ers and this team might be a championship contender with him.

I think Embiid is happy about how the team is going but he is not happy about how much credit he is getting. I think the sensitive part about this situation is that we really do not know who is the "leader" of sixers, it is not easy to become a leader at their young age, usually leaders are 30+ year old super stars (or close age) and I feel like for a young team like sixers there must be some tension about who is leading the locker room.

Now Embiid is a jokester and a funny guy, so I doubt a team filled with older players (usually) would really see him as a leader at all, however Ben Simmons even though young looks a bit more calm headed and that is why I think there could be some clash between them about that spot.

But if I were for Jamal since he is not getting younger I would have chosen a much better team right now capable of winning a ring. With the current status right now of Nets especially the missing good players they have Irving, Durant, Jordan, Dinwiddie, Chandler and Prince chances is so low for them to caught it.

Indeed.
But there is still hope in this decision.
Next year maybe?  Grin

We can see in that video how a veteran moves like a veteran.  Grin
Embiid is good below the rim but if you are against a veteran like Mark who had so much experience including Olympics games then it will be easy for him to stop Embiid.
He needs more experience down there, not just experience in talking so much.  Grin

Watching that video, it looks like Embiid was so overrated that anytime can be stop by a good defender.
I don't know if that are other NBA players who called themselves start having an scoreless night, at least not on Lebron, Kobe, and Kawhi.
Proves he is not unstoppable, unlike the other players that you mentioned.
He got skills but I think it is going over his head most of the time.
You can also prove that when you look at how he reacts whenever he did a strong offensive move.

Could he really be that selfish that he wants Simmons out for more attention?
Like what sana54210 said:
Do you guys think that Embiid is having some sort of trouble with Ben Simmons? I mean looking at the two things he said, they are both looking like attacks to Simmons. He said the game should run through him and usually we see point guards bringing the ball up yet in today's game anyone can do it, Ben Simmons is known to be the main ball handler and playmaker of that team, maybe Embiid wants to be more like Jokic instead? And the other one is him and Horford basically surrounded by shooters, which we know that Simmons is not one at all, he is one of the worst shooters in the league.

So, when you combine these together, it sounds like maybe Embiid wants to force Simmons out of Sixers and he wants to lead the team himself and dislikes the notion that he has to share that with Simmons instead. What do you think?
I guess we will find out more someday. Maybe in the playoffs, if the game starts to heat up and no one can make an offense.
Someone will just burst out of his bad behavior.

I think he did not choose a team or no other team that is interested on him as he was a free agent prior to this news.

https://www.nba.com/article/2019/11/15/jamal-crawford-still-waiting-join-team

So this is more like a blessing for him that he was still getting signed by a team that has a playoffs chance and he can still play more games.

His big achievement so far.

Embiid is not a kind of player that could provide consistent offense to the team, he can be doubled and IIRC, there's one man that can stop him, and that is Mark Gasol. We can all see in this video - Toronto Raptors Breakdown - ALL-DEFENSE: How they held Joel Embiid to ZERO points & beat the Sixers!

Great video, it tells that Embiid is wrong, it's the first time he was scoreless in his career as an NBA player, great job by Gasol here, he doesn't need to score but it's important he can stop Embiid. Brilliant coaching job by Nick Nurse.

We got news!

Nice move by the Nets here.

Undermanned Nets signing Jamal Crawford, nearing deal with Michael Beasley

Good to know that Crawford is not done yet.

I like him when he was still playing with the Clippers, as reserved, he can contribute quality minutes to the team.

His stats says that he is very consistent with the Clippers team - https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/c/crawfja01.html

This news is even so cute - Former Clipper Jamal Crawford to Sign with Brooklyn Nets

It dd not recognize the two teams Crawford has previously played.

It is expected that Superstars like Lebron, Kobe, Kawhi and others to scores in every game. They are really good and had been love by the basketball fans globally.
Embiid is also a superstar, he just had a bad game and that's just one game, but compared to the names above, it's hard to say as they don't have the same position.

I made a little research and I found that Kobe has also a scoreless game in his NBA career.

Bryant played six minutes off the bench on Nov. 3, 1996 in his first NBA action, going scoreless with a rebound, a block and a steal in the Lakers' 91-85 win over the Kevin Garnett/Stephon Marbury-led Minnesota Timberwolves.

Hopefully that this will going to continue until championship. The organizers should do their best for these players not to get infected by this virus becuase if they doea then NBA basketball will going stop once again and this likely will not going to give joy to the fans.

We can expect that as one mistake might end up the whole season.

Good point!
Both young and both have skills.
76ers will have a difficult time choosing between the two if ever they want to be separated.

But do remember, Embiid is a guy who talks a lot and it could be a weapon to manipulate the game or what the opponent will think.
