It's gonna be Walker replacing Irving, and If I'm not mistaken he knows how to play fast phase, and the Celtics are really playing fast phase and they have been successful with that.

Correct, it is going to be a fast pacing gameplays. With their roster of small line up just like the Houston Rockets it is going to be a fight for speed.
NBA is way different now. A small forward could be a center and there is not much of a point guard by now. All are like shooting guards and we can see it with the line ups.

They dont take much centers anymore but I still do think it is one key for a championship. Yes, GSW made it happen with Draymond as almost the center of the team.
But, I believe in a Jokic kind of play. If trained well it could be the dagger to win a championship. With the center passing, shooting and penetrating like him, he just needs a good team mate who can really shoot.

This is a good move for the Celtics and they really feel the need of a big man, because they go dominated by the Bucks in the paint.
Celtics is experimenting on him. We shall see if he can adopt to the C's style.

Celtics are playing a fast phase game, he was effective with the Blazers where they almost have the same style as celtics, so I don't doubt he will fit with the Celtics.

I think they are playing with fast phase game because of Kyrie. But with him gone, Celtics management needs to change their style as well to fit the new players.

Kanter is really a good attention, he did played well in Portland so he will be a good fit to the Celtics.

The Bucks have a new addition in Kyle Korver. It's not a bad move because they really needed outside shooters and he is also a veteran which can help the younger players. I hope he can also pull a Ray Allen move (Heat) and help them win.

I still get goosebumps watching Ray Allen hit that clutch 3 in the finals.  He saved that series and Lebron's legacy.

Korver is a solid piece, one of the most underrated shooters in the NBA, he is getting up there in age and he isn't much of a defender but his shooting % outweighs that.

I agree, he is a great asset to any team specially needing a clutch three in closing minutes. Even at his age, he can still put up a decent three as evident of his shooting percentage.

It is a good addition in my opinion, it can really up open space for the team, specially if Giannis learns how to play one on one and then kick a pass to Korver for a three. Definitely great addition to the team.

I guess what else were you expecting Celtics to do? Get a veteran instead of a decent role player? Kanter will never be the star of a team, he is just a center that fills a void for teams and last season after Nurkic went down dude really played well enough that they went as far as western conference finals. Hence I think he is doing alright, of course he wasn't the reason why they went as far as western conference finals but at least he wasn't the reason why they didn't.

Hence, I think in a team that has absolutely no center aside from Theis, dude will be fine, without Kanter Celtics would have just Theis as center and nobody else, they picked up the right guy for right scenario, they wanted to get Walker so they had no money to get a decent center, Cousins also didn't want to join so there was nothing left to do but get Kanter. They made the best out of a bad situation.

If walker will not be like Irving, Tatum would be effective.
The time when Irving was injured and Celtics are playing better because they know how to share the ball and they spread the floor, hope to see them again playing like that, not like Irving where he loves to carry the ball all the time and pass when there's a little time left which is hard for the teammates to create a good shots.

It is the time now to boost Tatum as one of the great offensive player of the Celtics.
Make it like GSW with two offensive guys on the outside or rather make some good post up plays for Tatum or an isolation guy.

For now he is still one of the under rated player out there with so much skills. I just hope Celtics management is seeing that. This guy have a lot of future in his hands which just needs a lot of confidence. 2 years in the playoffs should be enough by now.

Kanter on the other hand, I don't know if he is a good addition to the Celtics. For me he is just a mid level center. But we will see, most of the time if a player move to a new team, they usually show their best.
That guy probably spends more time practicing his interview and tweet skills than actually practicing on the court. Let's see how this Celtics experiment goes. I still like their like their line up with or without Kanter.

True. With Tatum around and Walker it will be great.
I just hope they make a good chemistry faster.
If these two can shoot and pass the ball at a higher level every game then they will be monstrous.
Add their roleplayers being good defenders then still it could be a playoff contender specially when you are on the East side. Grin

Just learned today that another big man was added in Houston Rockets pool, the veteran Tyson Chandler.
For real? come on, you got me and searched for the sources quickly and here what I've found out.

He can contribute base on his experiences and on how to deal with such situations but I'm not expecting that he can contribute that much physically inside the court.

He is already past his prime and I'm sure he will just be used sparingly just like what we see LA did to him last season. Just there for physical presence intimidate and even block some shots. Probably 10 -13 minutes max just to relieved Capela. Or maybe he can be the mentor to the him as well.
I'm thinking more of him as mentor for the whole team especially if they are on dire situation and they need to be more wise while deciding on how they should deal with it.
I'm sure that he can work better that way but still good for him to get into a nice team.

Ok I would say I would agree as well. At least someone who is old enough that can really share his experience with the team. At least his career is extended for one season and see how we really really fit in Houston. What they need to manage is his time on the court. That legs will not hold that long in a long and gruelling 80++ games.
Yeah that's more valuable to the team but if he still wants to get along on the court, he can do that but I don't think that he's going to be effective as before.
We have same sentiment that he can no longer play inside the court for a long time, at least they have a veteran that can also add an impact through giving his opinion that can be also valuable as coaching.

As a regular NBA analyst, it's common for them to make predictions. He is also a co-host in a sports TV show.
It's part of his job and knowing that he's into the professional scene before, he can predict and say what's on his mind.

Indeed it's he's job and with his experienced he have the that abilities to bring his opinion regarding to his pick predicting the possible things that can happen inside the league this coming new season, it's up to the team if how they'll perform this coming season.
Yep, that's it.

Anyone who has watched the 'Taco Tuesday' of Lebron James and fam together with AD?

The point of getting his can't be to actually use his talents, that ship has been long gone, he did played only a bit in Lakers last season and had one game winning block against Trae Young I can remember but aside from that he was nowhere to be found and Lakers actually used him for his talents since he had absolutely nobody to play in Center position for a long time.

Rockets have Capela there and he is one of the best young players in our league for center position, of course not the best but you can only have so many good centers and Capela is definitely top 10 active ones. What rockets is probably trying to do is get chandler to teach Capela how to play better, it is a very valuable thing to have a great guy like Chandler and a great kid like Capela and put them together on the practices.

Kanter help the Blazers to reach in the WCF, this guy is tough so he is a big boost for the Celtics.
Maybe not as tough since Portland decided to let him go. He is quite talkative like other bigs but he is not that impactful on the court compared to others in the league.

Lol, Kanter is probably just a social media addicts and voicing his (political) opinion.

He needs to play hard, afterall the C's as paying his high paying money so he better sharpen his skills otherwise his whole NBA career will be over. So yeah, let's see how he suits for the C's next season.

Kanter is a good addition to the Celtics IMO since they lack size and a hassle player in the middle last season. He may not score a lot but what is expected of him is his rebounding ability and defense.
