By the way, has this news been reported here already?

Robert Bolick, Firebonds part ways

The reason for his decision is that his wife is pregnant, and he wants to be with her always. This situation could potentially open up opportunities for other PBA teams to acquire Bollick when he decides to return to the league.

This showed up in my social media newsfeed, Bolick is going back to the Philippines. His stint with the Japan B2 League was short-lived due to the fragility of his wife's pregnancy that he must always by her side which he can't because of the "home and away" format of that league.

The question here is who will get Bolick? Will PBA teams will do a "Slaughter thing" on him?

Or he will land to the TNT Katropa who is in dire need of a point guard to replace the troublesome Mikey Williams hehe.

That's the best move he should make right now. I believe Mikey Williams' fee could be on par with Bollick's, considering they are both star players. However, I'd argue that Bollick might be more valuable to the team since he's versatile, capable of shooting from outside, and skilled in attacking as well. Joining TNT might reduce his burden compared to his previous team in the PBA, where he had to carry the team on his shoulders. Who knows, he might secure his first championship with TNT, so if the offer comes his way, I think he wouldn't turn it down.

That's a good thing for bollick once he came to the. tNT tropang giga as we all know that Robert bollick is one of the best player  that try his very best to carry his team and we all know that bollick is good at defense as well and I think once he is in TNT for sure he have a lot of time he have teamates can assist him and for sure TNT will become stronger. But I don't think so If bollick will want to work with them maybe if they offered bigger to bollick the he must go for it.

I have to say that the value of the PBA is declining. I don't mean to say it won't survive, but it's not living up to the expectations of the fans. There needs to be a change in the way they manage the league and, more importantly, a reduction of the political influences that control it.

That's pretty much the only thing they can offer, so we'll just have to enjoy it. I wouldn't say that the PBA's popularity has declined completely, especially during Ginebra's final games when people were turning out in record numbers and making history. There's still a lot of love to see them play. It's safe to say that without Ginebra, this league would definitely struggle.

As for politics, it's tough to eliminate them entirely, especially when MVP and SMB own most of the teams; their influence on the league is undeniable.

Gone are the days when the All-Filipino competition involved other teams outside SMC and MVP, such as Red Bull, Alaska, and Sta. Lucia Realty.

I doubt we'll see that happen again, given that the PBA is currently dominated by the owners of SMB and TNT. There were rumors before about adding more teams, and I believe that would make the PBA more exciting to watch. But until that actually happens, we're stuck with what we've got for now.

There's already the MPBL, but the PBA remains more popular. However, the crowd is somewhat divided, with a small portion supporting the MPBL. Additionally, some of our best players opt to play abroad, considering the PBA as a training ground or a pathway to international opportunities. This means we miss out on great players who could be representing the PBA.

Money wise TNT can offer him the best packages, unless SMC will be greedy and will try  to acquire him..

Either TNT by MVP or SMB by SMC is greedy lol.

Anyway, no choice for Bolick if I were him though lol if returning to PBA is a choice, choosing between giant teams should be the priority not just money but the chance of a championship is possible. In All-Filipino conference, SMC and MVP teams are the only teams that can compete for a championship.
I'd be thrilled to see him play for TNT. Let's consider the possibility that Williams might not be able to make a comeback, either because he's lost interest or TNT has had enough of his antics. In that case, there's a chance they might have a spot for a star player with a fantastic fee.

I also believe that Bollick wouldn't make the decision to leave a team that pays better than the PBA without a backup plan. So, since he's already in the Philippines, it's quite likely he'll return to the PBA.

Very possible that he will be going to TNT in case he decided to play back inside PBA,   right now the team is struggling with pogoy and William are both missing they need someone who can take the place and for me Berto can be fitted with the position. This is also the moment when I'd say that betting on Ginebra is no longer a sure thing. Without Brownlee, there's no guaranteed win.

I don't think Ginebra will be the real deal this season. It could either be SMB or TNT, and most likely SMB because June Mar Fajardo is an import-like player, and he tends to dominate. In fact, I've been constantly searching online for news about who might replace Brownlee as an import, but so far, there haven't been any updates or even rumors.

Yeah for sure we can see a SMB vs TNT as these teams are good enough for SMB if they can get a good import then that's an additional for them cause we all know that they have junemar and the rest of the team are strongly good  like laseter,  Perez and more players, while on TNT they have a good players as well and once they got a good import then they can compete against SMB's lineup.
so all we need todo right now is to see how thier system works.

TNT could be facing some issues in the upcoming season as one of their best players, Mikey Williams, has not returned to the Philippines yet.

PBA: Mikey Williams still absent from TNT with new season coming up

Quote
MANILA, Philippines–The absence of Mikey Williams in the preparation for the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) continues to puzzle TNT’s top official.

“Ayaw pa niyang umuwi e, so what can we do,” PBA chairman and TNT’s board representative Ricky Vargas said in Tuesday’s press conference at Diamond Hotel.

Williams remains in the United States with the season about three weeks away from the Commissioner’s Cup tip-off while the Tropang Giga are busy building up for the campaign.

Also, there's another problem as Pogoy has been reported in the past to have a rare heart condition. Most likely, he'll also miss the season. This situation gives SMB a significant advantage, so I'm leaning towards betting on them to win.

TNT is facing quite a challenge this season. It appears they're missing two of their key players, and Castro can no longer single-handedly carry the team, given that he's not getting any younger. All we can really do is wish the team good luck, especially considering that other teams are now back to full health. The SMB, in particular, is looking formidable with Terrence Romeo's return and the recent signing of Jeron Teng.

Yes without Mikey Williams they will struglling in offence casue Castro is  old enough to carry alone his team but still he can give a good match to us, as we all know the veteran castro I'd still a veteran  the main changing is his speed but the accuracy and a good ball handler is still have. But anyways for sure Mikey will return here in Philippines he can't let his team down so if his team need him then he will come for sure.

TNT finds itself in a tough situation with two of their reliable players unlikely to play in the coming season. Even though they have a solid import in RHJ, it's hard to imagine them making it to the Finals with the absence of two starters. The season hasn't started yet, but it seems TNT is already practicing. The fact that Mikey Williams hasn't shown up indicates he may not be interested in playing for the team anymore. So, perhaps TNT should stop waiting for him.

In terms of JBL, I also remember that PBA did allow Kiefer before, so maybe that will be the same case here. They might let it go and let JBL to perform for the fans who really love him more after taking home the gold.

The PBA can't afford not to have JBL, as he is the one who makes the Gin Kings better. Without him, the team would just be an ordinary one, even with Coach Tim Cone's brilliance in coaching. So, I'm not worried if he would be banned, as I'm positive he'll come back to play. The issue was just in the international game. I'm not sure if whatever sanction they impose on JBL would affect a privately owned league. I think it doesn't make sense if they connect that, as it's already beyond their jurisdiction to implement such sanctions.

Yes there's no doubt mate Justin brownlee is one of the best important in all time and a good teammates he can do his very best in order to win the match he can carry his team into finals and bring the the trophy. And when brownlee is being suspended for sure there's a big impact for the BGSM as we all know that brownlee is thier key player in order to win unless they can find an import that like brownlee or else much better if taller and fast so that BGSM can still compete other teams.

We can't predict the quality of the import they'll acquire, but we've already witnessed the best import in action. There were even discussions about creating a statue for Brownlee after we secured a gold in the Asian Games, recognizing his significant contribution. However, China ruined the reputation of Brownlee with their tests. As for the new import, no name has been announced yet, so we'll have to wait and see. This is also the moment when I'd say that betting on Ginebra is no longer a sure thing. Without Brownlee, there's no guaranteed win.

JB is likely to be out for 2 years and his team is unlikely to contest the dope result. It's because that his contract with PBA is also affected by that result.

They can certainly try to contest it, but can they win? I mean, it's the event organizer who found Brownlee to be using a prohibited substance. I don't think Ginebra has a strong reason to contest this unless they can somehow question the testing process. If they were to win, it could damage China's reputation as the host of the event, which I believe is unlikely to happen. For now, I think we just have to accept what has happened. Brownlee should rest and await the final result and any potential sanctions.
They have said it before when the results recently out but just after a few days that it seems the results have been proven to be strong, it is the management that said that they won't contest it anymore. That's why they are just accepting the results and as fans, we can't do anything with it and that could also been the reason why Justin Brownlee went back home when he knew that the results will be out soon. Anyway, we're still fans of him and ever since, he's the one that helped the Gilas to get that gold and we should just accept that it's only one person that has positive result on the test and not more than two which will give that disqualification and taking back of the gold medal.

A very good argument, they can contest but the chance of winning is slim, knowing how China wanted to put JBL down after they've got that opportunity they will not let it go, like you, I also believe that we should move forward I know that I really wanted JBL and SMC to continue fighting but reality wise there's nothing to fight for, it's a matter of decisions from the governing bodies that will give the verdict in sanctioning JBL after that findings regarding of using illegal drugs(substance)

I believe Teng would be eager to play for this team, especially considering his father's history as an SMB player. If he lives up to the team's expectations, he might retire as an SMB player. I also hope that injuries won't plague him, as SMB players seem to be prone to injuries lately. We've already seen JMF giving his 100% in international competitions like FIBA and the Asian Games. This SMB team looks incredibly strong now, especially with the addition of a star player from another team.

With the defensive skills he acquired from his time with Alaska and Converge, he could become a valuable asset for SMB. I'm excited to see him in an SMB uniform.

It's a good thing that SMB acquired Jeron Teng from free agency. His asking price which is above the maximum salary is too much because he has yet to prove his worth of carrying a team to the championship and besides this player is so fragile that every now and then he is out due to injuries.

There is this rumor that Kyt Jimenez might not be seeing action in the PBA as he still has a contract with MPBL, hope that he could iron this one out so he can fulfill his dream of playing with the big boys in the PBA.
