I believe Teng would be eager to play for this team, especially considering his father's history as an SMB player. If he lives up to the team's expectations, he might retire as an SMB player. I also hope that injuries won't plague him, as SMB players seem to be prone to injuries lately. We've already seen JMF giving his 100% in international competitions like FIBA and the Asian Games. This SMB team looks incredibly strong now, especially with the addition of a star player from another team.

With the defensive skills he acquired from his time with Alaska and Converge, he could become a valuable asset for SMB. I'm excited to see him in an SMB uniform.

It's a good thing that SMB acquired Jeron Teng from free agency. His asking price which is above the maximum salary is too much because he has yet to prove his worth of carrying a team to the championship and besides this player is so fragile that every now and then he is out due to injuries.

There is this rumor that Kyt Jimenez might not be seeing action in the PBA as he still has a contract with MPBL, hope that he could iron this one out so he can fulfill his dream of playing with the big boys in the PBA.

Now that Teng is with SMC, did anyone sees the line up they have since the social media star Kyt has still got a contract issue with the MPBL? They've got a lot of players.

I'm not too worried about Kyt since he's just a rookie, and he's not likely to earn a lot of minutes yet. On the other hand, compared to Teng, who has played several seasons with other teams before landing with SMB, I have a feeling he'll be in the starting lineup. SMB's current starters are also getting older, like Ross and Lassiter. They need a fresh and young player to bring in some energy. So, I'm sure Perez, Teng, and JMF will be in the starting lineup, but I'm not sure about the other two to complete the starting lineup.
I saw the list of players and he's not there so I guess he'll be just into the pool and likely to be a practice player. Even with that, he should still be good and this is already a good chance for him because he has signed IIRC. I've seen another news that Berto Bollick wants to go back to the Philippines and asking his B League team to terminate his contract due to her wife giving birth. But many fans are thinking that there's more to that and there's likely a better offer probably from SMB.

Is there any news or rumors yet about who will replace Brownlee as Ginebra's import?

I believe there's immense pressure on whoever steps in to replace Brownlee, as he will be playing for the best team in the PBA. The crowd won't likely take kindly to a lack of success in the upcoming season. As for TNT, I think it's already been announced that RHJ will be their import. At least Ginebra will aim to find an import who can compete with and surpass RHJ, as he seems to be the benchmark now.
JB is likely to be out for 2 years and his team is unlikely to contest the dope result. It's because that his contract with PBA is also affected by that result.

Great news for SMB.

Newlywed Jeron Teng moves to SMB on two-year contract
Quote
JUST days after getting hitched, Jeron Teng got a new lease on life in his PBA career.

Teng, who became a free agent after he was released by Converge, signed a two-year contract with the Beermen on Wednesday in the presence of SMC sports director Alfrancis Chua and his agent Danny Espiritu.

Now, I can confidently say that SMB is shaping up to be a solid defensive team. With a healthy JMF, this team is becoming a force to reckon with, especially since Ginebra will be missing Brownlee as the new season kicks off. Great pick-up by SMB!

Jeron Teng has proven himself to be a valuable contributor, particularly on the defensive end. He's also got some great driving skills to get to the paint, which pairs well with JMF's capabilities. SMB doesn't just need more outside shooter; they need a player who knows how to attack and Teng seems to fit that mold.
They're always like this, they're able to scout those good players that are asking for max contract. Anyway, if they think that Teng is good to be with them then that's their decision. After all, his father was also a member of SMC before so that's coming from the roots as well. I'm just intrigue if they have given the asking contract for Teng but it's most likely that they did but it's like a two way contract. One from the max based on PBA's term and agreement and next is like the personal contract that they've given to him. Now that Teng is with SMC, did anyone sees the line up they have since the social media star Kyt has still got a contract issue with the MPBL? They've got a lot of players.

In terms of JBL, not sure if PBA will punish him but for me personally, they should allow him to keep playing to show support with the man who brings us gold, not to dramatic but we should not follow that sanction from that protest.

It's just simply saying that we believe and we support whatever they think, better to do the opposite.. Hahaha

I think the PBA is probably just following the orders from the Asian Games or whichever committee is handling the imposition of sanctions. If the sanction involves him not being able to play professional sports for a certain period, the PBA's hands might be tied in this matter. They understand that, especially the Ginebra Kings, which is why they're already in the process of searching for his replacement.

I understand maybe they will just let him stay in the bench to help also building good chemistry if they got a new import to replace him, he's already naturalized so he can stay if he will choose and with the title that he brought I think SMC can cater his utility or whatever he needs during his stay, or maybe they will give him contract as part of the training team just to keep him while waiting for the sanctions whatever will be the verdict to him.

Bad news indeed but i do agree with your opinion mate that the PBA landscape will change a bit and most likely TNT Katropa will be the favorite to win as RHJ is a proven import and only Brownlee could match his intensity (as far as last year is concern). But with TNT Katropa also having issues with manpower, i do think that the Commissioner's Cup trophy is open for grabs for all as of now.

Hope this new network could deliver what is expected of them.

Based on what Rondae Hollis-Jefferson showed in the FIBA World Cup and Asian Cup, he is already a proven import who might easily dominate especially without Justin Brownlee in the league. TNT is lucky to have him back, and aside from already creating some chemistry, they know that he is a reliable import. This is unlike first-time imports who are often on a trial basis, and if they don't fit, the team has to look for another import, which can mess up their chemistry as the conference is going on.

I think Justin Noypi will have an extended vacation now after winning a gold medal for our country. He deserves that break. Unfortunately, there is some bad news. I hope he doesn't take it too seriously, as the result might not be true, especially since the host country is the team they beat. Even if it is true, he's not the only one who has violated rules, and he just needs to make sure he doesn't make the same mistake again.

For now, we are awaiting any possible sanctions that Brownlee might face. Let's stay up to date on that.

But the problem is Jordan already make him as their naturalized player that's why he is out on the selection since for sure Jordan will protest with this plans if they pursue him to be the new naturalized player of Philippines. To bad RHJ already familiar with the system of Philippines and know a lot of player so chemistry is not really a problem with him but he is now out of the picture so best for Gilas to find another perfect fit on the team.

Expect JB will extend his vacation knowing how long he will be out of the league if he fail on retest and might he will retire after that since is old already after that punishment lifted out to him. Lets hope for betterment on this so let see what is the further action taken by SMB and to our national team.

That's value a lot especially in a team sports, chemistry and trust that they already established from each other, with RHF the team can bring him the ball and let him take over, that's the kind of game he loves and he's known to be more offensive player that can give a high percentage of converting the basket.

Speaking of JB guys, Ginebra seems to be dropping JB on their roster and is now trying to find another import as replacement. Sad for the Brgy. Ginebra fans, I mean for all of the fans because he have lifted the Gilas during the Asian games and brought gold home.

I just read the news, and it seems that Ginebra is no longer contesting the test results. They will accept what happened and look for a replacement for Brownlee. Now, this is a different ball game without Brownlee, so let's see if Ginebra is still the team to beat. By the way, is Rondae Hollis-Jefferson (RHJ) playing as an import for any team in the PBA?

Not good news for Ginebra fans, but if you look at the other side, this could create a more unpredictable conference. Brownlee is known to be a dominant import, having won Best Import awards and championships. It's also a change for the network, and I hope the channel they'll transfer to will provide a clearer reception, as TV5 has not always delivered that for us. But for those who rely on Facebook streams to watch the game, this should not be a concern.

They cannot do anything anymore on the decision made and can't wait for retest result since the league is going to start so I for Ginebra they need to move on on this unfortunate events happen to them since if they chase the decision then it can delay them to get another import that can help them on next opening. I guess Brownlee's career will be in trouble with this and if he can't pass on retest maybe he's basketball will totally end there. To bad that this happen since they can still have a good run for more years but this incident happen. Its hard to get a new naturalized player which can easily adopt the system and have good attitude, this is a huge loss for Philippines and now they might get a head ache for selecting new naturalized player that can really help their on their upcoming international campaign.

Yeah, they're not going to contest anymore the test results because it seems that they have little chance of winning against the case and findings for Brownlee.

I guess that they will still be an unbeatable team knowing that they're good in picking up their imports, there could have been some reserve already.

Yes, he is listed on TNT.

Everyone, PBA has transferred to another network and for sure that this transfer of theirs will help this network even become stronger since it was the one that have became the second network and home of ABS-CBN shows. And that network is none other than A2Z.
I've just read somewhere that there was a conflict with TV5's Spingo or show that have taken the time slot for PBA games but that's fine, wherever PBA goes, the fans will also come and that's for sure.

In terms of JBL, I also remember that PBA did allow Kiefer before, so maybe that will be the same case here. They might let it go and let JBL to perform for the fans who really love him more after taking home the gold.

The PBA can't afford not to have JBL, as he is the one who makes the Gin Kings better. Without him, the team would just be an ordinary one, even with Coach Tim Cone's brilliance in coaching. So, I'm not worried if he would be banned, as I'm positive he'll come back to play. The issue was just in the international game. I'm not sure if whatever sanction they impose on JBL would affect a privately owned league. I think it doesn't make sense if they connect that, as it's already beyond their jurisdiction to implement such sanctions.

It looks like the PBA will indeed start on November 5, 2023, as the timer is already counting down the right number of days remaining. As we can see on their official website, the next game is set to start in 19 days. This means there's plenty of time for our players to enjoy their vacation and relax with their families, because when they return, the season is sure to be hectic in terms of the schedule.

Brownlee is probably still in the US, but it can't be easy for him to learn that he tested positive for an illegal substance, especially after winning a gold medal. But that's life; he has to accept the result. What's important is that the medals were not taken back.

https://pba.ph/

Yup, November 5 is the opening date of the PBA and AFAIR, this is the longest time that I have not seen the PBA due of its FIBA and ASIAD campaign but it is worth the wait because we've got the gold medal in the Asian Games.

With regards to Brownlee's issue, do you guys have an idea whether he will be suspended in the coming PBA or not? I can't remember if Kiefer Ravena was suspended but i do remember that he was suspended on FIBA sanction games for two years but in the PBA, I don't remember.

Nonetheless, this issue is not a big deal for PBA fans as it is not a performance enhancing drugs so this issue will die very soon hehe.

Yup it was the longest time that PBA suspend or adjust the season, showing the dominance of SMC group knowing it before where even there's world cup or ASIAD the game must go on, but with the changes of big boss behind the national team seems that PBA is now aligned with what the National needs.. hehehe just kidding.. Though it's nearing, I also agree that players need that time for their families, giving them much longer time.

In terms of JBL, I also remember that PBA did allow Kiefer before, so maybe that will be the same case here. They might let it go and let JBL to perform for the fans who really love him more after taking home the gold.

Hopefully PBA will recognize that contribution to the man who plays that big heart for us to win the gold, hope for consideration and let him feel that warm hugs and cheers from his local fans.
