Coach Tim knows how to balance his squad, without JBL the whole squad needs to work alongside each other,  with new reinforcement and Ahanminsi they have good numbers that they can add up to fill some space that JBL can provide,  I think they still going to be as competitive as they are  and still possible to reach the semis and so into the finals.
No doubt, the roster of theirs is already strong and addition of Tony Bishop can make it stronger. The coaching staff has their own basis for choosing him and just as how they've chosen Brownlee, they have also applied that this time because all they want is to have the championship which is usually their goal.

Too early though but we don't know what The Brgy  have to offer this upcoming season.
Just like everyone else, we've got huge expectations on them even without Brownlee.

Yeah right, it's Ginebra. What do we expect from the crowd's favorite right? Though squad wise they are still in good position, we can say that the quad still have competitive stars and role players to help in winning each game, and with the way coach Tim handled his players, we know that there are always secret picks or unexpected rotations that will give more additional entertainment to all the fans.

Almost game time, let's see how they will play this upcoming season, SMB fan here, but Ginebra is Ginebra... Tongue

It might be time for Fajardo to reclaim his status as the Kraken. He hasn't secured a conference best player award recently, which is different from the past when he consistently dominated. While he's not getting any younger, Fajardo, when in good health, remains an unstoppable one in the paint. In the past, there was another 7-footer who could challenge him, but I've forgotten his name; I believe he's currently playing overseas.

I believe Ginebra had tried numerous imports before Justin arrived, but it's Justin who truly seems to be the perfect fit for the team. He has a genuine affection for the Philippines, which is why he applied to become a naturalized player. There's no one quite like Justin on the team, and that's why there's immense pressure on Bishop. Without a doubt, all eyes are on him.

Too early though but we don't know what The Brgy  have to offer this upcoming season.

The PBA is set to commence this Sunday, but Ginebra's first game won't be until November 17. The team will have plenty of time to rest and prepare. In the opening matches, we'll witness an intriguing matchup between Magnolia and TNT.

This is the advantage once you already know your players and you have the system now for many years already. I’m also confident that Ginebra will still be the contender here for the title and this is the best time now for them to go deeper with their bench players and prove that they are not too dependent to JBL.

So, regarding Tony Bishop, in order for him to stay longer, especially if Brownlee might still be suspended (though such a suspension may be reduced), Tony has to ensure he lives up to Tim Cone's expectations. We all know Tim Cone has high standards, especially since Ginebra is a crowd favorite. He aims to win most, if not all the time.

I don't think he was replaced during his time with the Meralco Bolts, so I'm expecting that he'll be able to finish the conference in case Brownlee can't play due to suspension. Coach Tim knows the caliber of his import; that's why he hired him. With the Ginebra team, discipline is highly valued. Even if a player is an import and not producing, Coach Tim Cone could sit him out and opt for an All-Filipino lineup.

And let's not forget, Maverick Ahanmisi is already with Ginebra, and this guy plays good basketball as well.

https://www.rappler.com/sports/pba/maverick-ahanmisi-joins-barangay-ginebra-september-2023/

Coach Tim cone is very knowledgeable coach, we are all know that once his players are complete then he will make a way  in order to prevent losses. Anyways as we all know that brownlee has a big chance for his  suspension but coach Tim will make a way he already knew who are the player he need inorder to compete other team in PBA. which is pretty good enough If his players are fully conditioned or else complete.

He's already paved the way by picking Tony Bishop as their import, but we're not sure if he'll gel right away, given he hasn't played with the team before. The good side is that he's from a defensive powerhouse, the Meralco Bolts, and we all know Coach Tim values solid defense due to the discipline it shows. I've got a feeling that the new import will slot in nicely, though, no promises, of course.

Maverick Ahanmisi, the player who asked for a big salary from his former team Converge, seems like a legitimate star player who could really help Ginebra in their campaign. It appears that Ginebra keeps adding great players, and I'm sure Maverick Ahanmisi now has a chance to claim his first championship with the team. I find Maverick Ahanmisi to be a good replacement for Pringle, especially since the latter is getting older and Ginebra could use a younger version of him.

I don't consider Maverick Ahanmisi as a replacement for Pringle's position since Ginebra still has Scottie Thompson and Nards Pinto.

Instead, I consider him a good replacement for Jeremiah Gray who is currently injured and there's no ETA when he will fully recover. I don't think Coach Tim will assign Ahanmisi the same as what he used to play on the Converge. My worries too that Ahanmisi won't get enough playing time in Ginebra knowing Coach Tim's usual way and the fact that Ginebra has several players having the same position as Ahanmisi.

If Ahanmisi is assigned as PG or SG, still be limited playing time as there is Nards Pinto who was able to lead Ginebra and showed good performance during the PBA On-Tour where most of Ginebra's key players were out. He might be the next in line for Coach Tim to be one of the future regular starters for the team.

This is just my speculation though.

The verdict that we all have been waiting for is coming up next week.

Verdict on Justin Brownlee positive test expected to come out by next week

And it has also been confirm that Tony Bishop would be the import, however, this next article maybe is quite related on why he is only an "interim import", probably Ginebra are still optimistic that Brownlee would be able to play.

Cone confirms Ginebra bringing in Tony Bishop as interim import
Quote
Ginebra head coach Tim Cone confirmed their newest reinforcement on Friday evening in an interview with CNN Philippines, saying the former Meralco import will play for the Gin Kings while they await the fate of Justin Brownlee over his flunked drug test at the last Asian Games.

I think all of the imports are probably just interim imports because no import can truly guarantee they'll finish the conference. As we've seen in the past, when a team doesn't meet the expectations for their import player, they can change the import even if the conference is short. That's the nature of imports, and they themselves are aware of it.

So, regarding Tony Bishop, in order for him to stay longer, especially if Brownlee might still be suspended (though such a suspension may be reduced), Tony has to ensure he lives up to Tim Cone's expectations. I've heard a rumor that Ginebra has secured Tony Bishop as their import. Now, Bishop isn't new to the PBA, having played as an import for a different team previously. The big question is, can he bring a championship to the best team in the league?

What's your take on Tony Bishop? Do you think he has what it takes to lead Ginebra to a championship?

Here's the player's statisticis

https://www.proballers.com/basketball/player/11652/tony-bishop

Brownlee is a beast, that is why Ginebra is always on the Final in an import-reinforced conference and I doubt Tony Bishop could fill the big shoes that has been left by Justine Brownlee. They may be running in the playoff but reaching the finals is a slim possibility especially now that Junemar Fajardo is 100 percent healthy and his added experiences in the FIBA and Asiad stint really boost his morale and confidence.

SMB will the champion of this upcoming conference sans Justine Brownlee.

I'm a fan of SMB and with JMF and TR7 both playing with a healthy condition that chance of re-owning the title might take place this upcoming season, I like the way JMF play last FIBA and with the way TR7 showing that vid clips from social media platforms he might be ready again and bring his athleticism back to the league.

It's been a while since we saw SMB playing with the healthy TR7 and JMF with both productions and with the help of other superstars who can always provide the numbers that they need, without JBL to Brgy. Ginebra, that's a big shoe to fill for the new import.

It's an absolute delight to watch Romeo back on the court. His signature crossover moves never get old, and I'm hopeful that he can still showcase them despite his past injury issues. With this season providing players with ample rest, except those representing our country, we'll see more teams with players in good health, ready to compete.

Romeo has a Finals MVP under his belt, and it'll be interesting to see if he can repeat that feat this time, especially under a different coach. Alternatively, CJ is another player to watch, as he competes for minutes, creating a bit of rivalry within the team, so if not Fajardo will win, probably either one of them.

So, he tested positive for illegal drugs while he was still actively playing before. I guess it's the right action, but a 6-month suspension is definitely painful, especially considering he was signed recently. But as they say, every action has consequences, and he has to face it. I hope Converge would be able to accept that and still give him a chance to play with the team once the suspension is served.
He already signed a contract for a 2-year deal, and I'm sure Converge was well aware of his history regarding drug-related issues since he was off for years before they signed him. With this recent development so close to the season, it might be a tough pill to swallow, but considering he isn't a starter, I'm sure Converge would be okay, and they can still compete this coming season.

I'm also guessing that Converge is aware of his past case before they give him that 2-year contract, with this update regarding to him I'm pretty sure that they are okay with it and give him that chance to continue working with them till the suspension being lifted, giving him that chance may allow him to continue his chase of bringing his name up.

Though it's PBA and the level of competition might be different from where he played during his past suspension, but he is still young and still have that skills that really can compete with other stars who reached this far.

I think they aren't talking about that much... I was browising to see some PBA fresh news, but I see this article related to the converge team, and it's how Coach Ayo  felt to see Jeron Teng go..

https://www.spin.ph/basketball/pba/aldin-ayo-losing-jeron-teng-converge-san-miguel-a793-20231025?ref=feed_1_section

Quote
Aldin Ayo on losing Jeron Teng
"Of course, it was very difficult," said Ayo, talking for the first time about the stunning move of the FiberXers management to place the 29-year-old Teng unprotected in the free agency market.

Ayo's association with Teng goes a long way back during their days with the La Salle Green Archers where they won a UAAP men's championship together.

They were eventually reunited at Converge after Ayo took over the coaching chores from Jeff Cariaso following a one conference stint after the sale of the Alaska franchise to the FiberXers.

By the end of the season, Teng also emerged as the team's second-leading scorer behind Maverick Ahanmisi.

"He's very familiar with our system," said Ayo of the playing son of retired PBA player Alvin Teng.

So that was really painful for Converge as they've lost their two best scorers to another team. I'm curious to see how they'll compete with other teams in the upcoming season. The last time I watched them, they were performing well, but they did face struggles due to their import issues towards the end.

There's no doubt that JMF is a beast, but it's evident that SMB hasn't been the same since Coach Austria departed. So, I still believe that the coaching job plays a crucial role. Maybe Coach Tim will be the one to bring out the best in Tony Bishop, even more so than he was before. While SMB has a good chance, I think Ginebra has the potential to make it to the Finals again. That would surely be another crowd-pulling attraction.

But let us remember that coach Galent is a fan of Fajardo and his plays revolve on his prized center. Fajardo plus their import are unstoppable for me in this conference. You may have a point that coach Tim will bring out the best of Tony Bishop but as of now Bishop can't bring the best out of his teammates that Justine Brownlee does best.

San Miguel Beermen is like having two imports at this time because like i said, Fajardo's confidence is ATH with his experience on banging the big men in the FIBA and Asian games.

I've noticed that Coach Austria seems to be using Fajardo more than Coach Galent. When I compare his performance in the past to the time when Coach Austria was fired, Fajardo seemed more unstoppable and his production was much more noticeable. Of course, this is just my personal observation.

It also appears that Coach Galent is leaning more on players like CJ Perez, who may have become the main option now.

Health issues may indeed be a significant factor, as Fajardo has struggled with injuries in the past seasons. However, let's give him the benefit of the doubt and see how he performs now that he's healthy and brimming with confidence after becoming a champion in the Asian games.

Brownlee is a beast, that is why Ginebra is always on the Final in an import-reinforced conference and I doubt Tony Bishop could fill the big shoes that has been left by Justine Brownlee. They may be running in the playoff but reaching the finals is a slim possibility especially now that Junemar Fajardo is 100 percent healthy and his added experiences in the FIBA and Asiad stint really boost his morale and confidence.

SMB will the champion of this upcoming conference sans Justine Brownlee.
