In terms of hiring new Naturalized player, Brownlee is the one that being push to get that position, though unlike Blanche who really have the height and the impact inside and outside but chemistry wise he might bring good lifting help to work side by side with Clarkson, we do have Fajardo, Kai and Aguilar who can run with these two offensive attackers to support the rim and bring offensive rebounds.

Though it might need more time to create a system letting everyone to jive with each other's game, but talent wise if coach will take time to really focus with the nationals we can reestablished the name that we already created as Asia's one of the top basketball athlete.

Indeed we have great pool of talents now that Clarkson and Kai will be able to play with us for the FIBA World Cup. And with the talents that pba have, they can create a very competitive team to compete in 2023.

The problem now is only on having enough time to practice and gain chemistry together. We've seen this past year that a roughly put together team, even with great talents, will not be competitive enough. We are being beaten by our neighbouring countries that we used to bully in basketball before.

Luckily, PBA is willing to have shorter conference to make way for Gilas practice in route to 2023 FIBA World cup. That should put enough time to drill in to the players the plays the coach will instill and develop chemistry among the players.

I've seen how hard they're playing and with an actual heart when he's with the Gilas. But I guess, it just so happen that other leagues and players are stepping up and most fans' expectation is also increasing. Based on Google, he's already 36 years old.
I've looked at his official Twitter account and the last tweet that he made was on September 2019 and that's already 3 years since he's with the team. Time really flies so quick.

His last season is 2016–17 with Xinjiang, I think it's a team in China, that's according here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andray_Blatche

Well, I guess he is now resting, or probably have retired in basketball already, but if Gilas will look for a big man, it should be a young one that can still play heavy minutes and will be a huge help to the team.
Thanks!
Kouame is likely the closest candidate that they can count on. But it seems that there have been some injuries lately that he has experienced.
Other than that, we don't know who are they going to pick when the next window is about to happen. The basketball world for us pinoys have been silent lately and focused more in the PBA.
The team has a wide pool of players but whoever is picking the roster should pick what suits each other and what the team needs, not just all about double dribble.  Cheesy

I wonder where is Andray Blatche now, he has contributed a lot in the past years with Gilas. The other naturalized player that the Gilas have since that player will replace Clarkson is Kouame. I think that having Brownlee in the pool is a good addition, I'm thinking about the possible chemistry and confidence that he's got since he has played with Filipino teammates ever since.

Maybe he is still playing in some international leagues, and he is also old now with the age of 35 years old. The Gilas were the better team with him, but not only because of him, it's because they have a  good coach who knows how to use the players.

Yeah, good job on how he performed. Ginebra is using him just the way that he has been taken by them, a good catch as usual by Ginebra. On Wednesday, it's exciting, Bay Area Dragons versus SMB.

Finally, let see if how the defending champ will take pride against the visiting team. Though it's just the meeting but if I remember it right the format is a single round so it's a must win for them, I would love to see how my favorite team will impress us, the fans are surely waiting for this moment to see if the Dragon is really tough as they are showing according in their current standing.

It's SMB debut so expect to see exciting flows coming from the heavyweights, joking here. It's the PH team against China hahaha..
I wish that there will be too many fans that will watch it as it's the first game on Wednesday. But, as much as the typical start of the league, there won't be that many fans during the weekdays and not yet in the semis and finals.

Plus, Brownlee is willing to contribute and be part of the pool but again, all of the decisions will rely onto those that are on high.
I forgot that the Ginebra would also be needed to ask if they're going to let it happen since it's also known that during the previous months in the hotness of Gilas games, some teams didn't allowed their players to be part of it. But hopefully, that when the next window will happen for Gilas games, they'll allow him and the senate has already pushed that bill for his naturalization.

Don't get hyped at Justin Brownlee's PBA Performance. Never he did have any experience competing in a much more competitive international league. His performance is really good in PBA but if we talked about playing in Gilas for FIBA, he won't stand a chance to compete there now that he is now 34 years old.

A naturalized player should be a dominant player that can carry a team. Andray Blatche is a good example of it. Justin Brownlee doesn't have the capability to carry the whole Gilas especially if we talk about his current status today which is now out of his prime.

It is SMB's first game of the conference. They will be a bit rusty coming from a long break. Other teams also started rusty.

It will be a challenge starting the conference with the unbeaten Bay Area Dragons. But since they are coming from a championship, they will be up for the challenge. They also have a few games to properly scout the Dragons. That is their distinctive advantage over the Dragons. They should be able to capitalize on that.

There are no odds out yet, but I am guessing the Dragons are slightly favored in this match up. No matter what, I will be taking the side of SMB though. I trust them to pull a win on this one.

It's a big challenge for the SMB, if I will see a good odds for Bay Area Dragons, I might bet on this team.  If SMB has Fajardo, this Bay Area Dragons team also has a big which is even taller than Fajardo. I like to see a competitive game, but if Bay Area Dragons will only be a favorite by -3.5, I might take that.

It became a thing when there have been topics if Brownlee should be added to the pool and many have said that he's not anymore as strong as he was before.
But on this game, he just proven himself to those doubters and unbelievers of him. He's still what it got to be a good candidate though although, the decision won't be coming from the fans but the usual SBP that many hates already.
This actually depend on the Senate if they will pass a bill to naturalize Brownlee, this has been the topic since then and I think SBP can't handle this thing, they can only endorse this but still the decision will depend on the higher courts. Brownlee did a great job in PBA history, and being with Ginebra I think he can still do more. The game against Meralco was a great one and they will face bigger teams ahead of the competition, they should not be complacent though since this is just their first win.

He is aging though, if they still want to naturalize Brownlee they should act now. He still has a few good years to give to basketball and he is a good addition to the pool since he is already familiar with Filipino brand of basketball. There would be very little to no adjustment for him.

His game would start to degrade soon so the best time for him to join Gilas is now. But looking at how they are always tentative on this, they might miss this window.

Yes, this is one of the factor that I don't agree with, if they are going naturalize Brownlee to blame Gilas, if might be too late as he is already 34 years old. And I agree that he lacks international competition experience and the most under his belt is playing in PBA for many hears that he is now attached to Pinoys.

So it's better for him or for us to let him stay in the PBA and not made him naturalize for the sake of joining Gilas. We have a lot of good players, so it our back is against the wall, get someone new with potential instead of Brownlee, just saying.

That's how poor the basketball operations here in the country are regarding international competitions. Slow actions.

I don't see how it will bring an impact anymore to the National team if they will naturalize Justin Brownlee just now. He is now in his post-prime period and even though he can still be a good help, his dominance is now just effective against locals and neighboring countries. That's the reality. Although he can still be a big help in the events such as SEAGames, ASIAN Games, Invitationals, Jones Cup, and the same-tier leagues.

In big basketball competitions like FIBA, they only allowed 1 naturalized player per team. The decision on who will be chosen as the naturalized player for Gilas in FIBA is a crucial decision that's why they need to find a young potential instead and just allow Brownlee to enjoy his remaining years playing here in our local league as an import even though he is open for becoming a naturalized player.

Don't get me wrong. I want Brownlee to be part of the Gilas pool competing in FIBA in the future but should be done much earlier.

Congratulations guys, Ginebra won the game and covered the spread.

The final score is 91-99.

The top scorer for Ginebra is Justin Brownlee with 34 points, a major bounce back from his performance in their previous game.
Nice game, Ginebra has a good shot at winning the championship, big thanks that Pringle is also back plus they have Malonzo.
Congrats everyone and to Ginebra.
Also, those that have mocked Justin Brownlee about him being suggested to be part of the Gilas pool, look at the guy just trying to prove himself that he's really still able to be the guy we used to know.
There’s no doubt about the skills of Brownlee and for this game, he proves to be dominant again despite some problem on the early quarter. Ginebra did won though it’s hard game for them but still, a win is a win. Their next game will be more exciting as the team Ginebra is already getting the rhythm of playing all together again.

Nice bounce for Brownlee. He carries the team in winning the game, though his support cast is always there to help. Congrats to all Gin kings backers handicap is fully covered a nice recover loss from the first game, I'm sure that one is really less expected by both fans and gamblers, but now, they've got Pringle back and Brownlee is really doing the usual routine.
