Is there a change of schedule?

SMB now is playing against Bossing, I thought they will be playing the Bay Area Dragons... Smiley
Correct me if I'm wrong, maybe I was not able to read the schedules clearly.

Maybe you got just confused.

PBA can't just change the series of matches. The scheduled match on eliminations is fixed. Only the date schedule is changing for various reasons such as typhoons, pandemic, or any things that can affect a certain game schedule. But when it comes to the replacement of the team, it's rare.

But still, I can't move on to my parlay bet last night. The reason is really unacceptable and that was SMB losing to Blackwater. Can't imagine that game will be the reason to crash my parlay bet where in fact that leg should be an easy pick. -sigh-

Yeah, a longer practice is better and the good news is that they've made a practice yesterday. (https://www.pna.gov.ph/articles/1185326)
It's good to see how this discussion grows and we've seen that the national team is having their practice with many players on the side.
Those that want to look at the roster, can check out that article as the names of the participants is there. True to that, chemistry is important so that they can have each other's back and there will be confident when they play inside the court. I think that they're trying to be better at this now.

Good thing to know that as early as now they are really showing the eagerness to form much solid lineup, a team that composed of chemistries and not just the name but players who will do their best to be in the team and add good numbers not just for offense but also on the defensive sides. It's given that we do have talents and we are competitive already, but forming the chemistries of all those good athletes needs time. The coaching managements needs to work harder than the usual routine to build and established the foundation of our nationals.
That's what it should be, they have to work on it so that they'll have that chemistry to be exact with their plays when they're up against a strong opponent.
Well, for the games a while ago, Bossing won against SMB. And with the latest news that I've heard, Phoenix Suns is on sale, right? Well, the Phoenix Fuel Masters franchise is also on sale.
This owner, Dennis Uy is setting to sell the team and AFAIK, he's got a lot of loans to pay and that's why he's starting to sell most of his assets and stocks including Malampaya.

I don't know mate, but all I know is that Blackwater has upset the SMB in their first game. Blackwater had a huge run in the 4th quarter, Amer and Ayunayun were the heroes on that game, congrats to them, I think SMB cannot beat the Bay Area Dragons with their performance.
I’m also confused to see different team on the floor where the supposed schedule is agains the Bay Area. What concerned me the most is that, SMB was defeated by Bossing which shocked many viewers as well. Maybe they are not ready for this game of Bossing really have a good fighting spirit to close this game with a win. SMB have to play better if they really want to beat Bay Area, there should be no excuses from them.
SMB is leading most of the time but they also have a lot of missed shots and turnovers which resulted to a big loss for them. Too early to say, but I think SMB is just preparing for a more bigger games and with Bay Area, they have a higher chance of winning against them. Anyway, do you have news about the import of Magnolia? Too bad to injure early in the competition and hopefully that's not a serious injury which rest can work.

Moving to this topic, I didn't watch the whole game but my social media account is full of game highlights, the last minute plays that upset the last season champ. that passed from Perez gave Ayunayun that chance to complete his heroic game winner. Congrats Bossing a coming back from behind rally and completing the snatch.

That was a careless pass, it was well anticipated by Ayunayu and that sealed a win for the team. It was really entertaining as we are all expecting here that SMB will just dominate the Blackwater, but it turns out, they are really a real deal.

A good fighting spirit for the Bossing they are down double digits if I remember it right, in the last quarter SMB still have good leads at the start, but Bossing show eagerness to win and made a big rally, it's really enjoying as SMB got the chance or lots of chance in winning the game. But that last mistake of Perez gives a seal for Bossing.

Still early might be possible that SMB is still in a vacation mode. That's why they committed mistake like but kidding aside,
we know the capabilities of this team, they will be bounce back and win their upcoming games.

Yes, the schedule is correct, SMB Beermen vs Blackwater Bossing in the first game while it is Magnolia vs TNT in the second game.

What an upset in the first game, i just can't remember what are the odds ML on that game but i'm sure it's 3.xx. Bossing's import had a monster game registering a triple double with 20 points, 18 rebounds and 10 assists. Maybe the lack of acquaintance to SMB's new import also contributed to the lose of SMB but nevertheless it's a good win for Blackwater.
I am surprise how Blackwater comeback the game as we saw their match between beermen that San Miguel Beermen manage or control the first quarter, second quarter and third quarter  , even though in 2nd quarter which is blackwater got their first lead but SMB manage well and then they are leading in the end of second quarter. But during the 4rth quarter Rosario and laseter shows their 3 point shoot and a back to back for both player and and in the last minute of the final quarter theirs a big  steal from black water to control the lead and take down SMB

It is their first game after a long break. It is natural that they are not that competitive and are a little bit rusty. They should be able to go back to their normal competitive level after a few games. They will face RoS next before facing Bay Area Dragons. That would be enough games to get their rhythm going and competitive enough to give the Dragons a good fight.

Good thing to know that as early as now they are really showing the eagerness to form much solid lineup, a team that composed of chemistries and not just the name but players who will do their best to be in the team and add good numbers not just for offense but also on the defensive sides. They are starting early this time. If I am right, this pool is for the 5th window in November. They still have a few weeks to practice and get that chemistry going. The only hindrance that I see here is that the players are also in the current conference in PBA and UAAP/NCAA. They cannot practice fully since some of the players are coming from matches the night before. They are exhausted coming into practice. I wonder how they will perform this time under these circumstances in their practices.

The team has a wide pool of players but whoever is picking the roster should pick what suits each other and what the team needs, not just all about double dribble.  Cheesy
If only there will be a time, as in long time, that our pools can practice together, that would be nice.

There are playing in PBA, there are playing in foreign leagues, there are playing anywhere, that's one of the big reasons why even we have a great pool talents, still not enough to formed a 100% chemistry.

Imagine, with a short timeframe, we can see already a 60-70% chemistry on our players, what's more if their practice together is really long, we might even see an over 100% perfect chemistry.

Although in reality that will not really happened as every players have different activities

The long wait for the fans will now happen this week as Bay Area Dragons will now face a considered top team in the league which is Brgy. Ginebra.

Their tip-off will happen on Sunday, at 6:45 PM, PH Time, and I'm expecting a huge crowd for this game.

They should have set it on Mall of Asia Arena instead of PhilSports Arena. Smiley A good game to watch live.
It's Sunday so I guess I expect more audiences to watch the game.
Now with regards to "huge crowd" thing-y, I don't think that it's the same as what we are thinking. When we watch Ginebra games, most of the times, there are a huge crowd, and the arena is almost full right? I don't expect it to happen again.

I'm not a pessimistic and I'm watching PBA as well but with the recent drama happened to PBA and these unbalanced trades, there might be some PBA fans out there who don't watch it anymore because of how the league is doing right now. Some might prefer watching other leagues. I watch the Meralco-Ginebra last Sunday and whenever I watch PBA games, I always look at the crowd and it's not the same as it was 1-2 years ago before the pandemic. Well, this is only my observation, and I will be happy if the Ginebra Fans will prove me wrong.

I guess there are only a few crowds who watch the game, also, the live streaming viewers are very small, it did not even reach 100k if I'm not mistaken. Maybe because it's not a playoffs yet, fans will be more interested in the playoffs than in the regular games.
That might be another reason as well.
People aren't interested in watching those elimination games because of lack of competitiveness and at least in the playoffs, there is more competitiveness because the top teams are the ones who are playing on that level.

Nevertheless, I still believe that the drama happened in the last few weeks is the reason why some people aren't interested in watching it anymore. Only the solid fans of each team are the ones who are watching and those who just want to watch because they want to be entertained prefer watching other leagues or other sports. Anyway, playoffs might be different like you said but I just hope that the drama that happened will not happened again.

In terms of hiring new Naturalized player, Brownlee is the one that being push to get that position, though unlike Blanche who really have the height and the impact inside and outside but chemistry wise he might bring good lifting help to work side by side with Clarkson, we do have Fajardo, Kai and Aguilar who can run with these two offensive attackers to support the rim and bring offensive rebounds.

Though it might need more time to create a system letting everyone to jive with each other's game, but talent wise if coach will take time to really focus with the nationals we can reestablished the name that we already created as Asia's one of the top basketball athlete.

Indeed we have great pool of talents now that Clarkson and Kai will be able to play with us for the FIBA World Cup. And with the talents that pba have, they can create a very competitive team to compete in 2023.

The problem now is only on having enough time to practice and gain chemistry together. We've seen this past year that a roughly put together team, even with great talents, will not be competitive enough. We are being beaten by our neighbouring countries that we used to bully in basketball before.

Luckily, PBA is willing to have shorter conference to make way for Gilas practice in route to 2023 FIBA World cup. That should put enough time to drill in to the players the plays the coach will instill and develop chemistry among the players.

Good thing that they will adjust now after being criticized. As we both said, enough practice will give more chemistry that will allow the coach and the players to jive and make sure that the system will be executed well. If the players will be able to adopt how the coach wanted the system to be played as a team.

We do have talents and our neighboring countries knew that we can bully them if we have the right people that will surround our nationals.

Looking to see the redemptions of our Nationals after being humiliated by our competitors during the Asian games.

Gilas pilipinas is strong enough to compete other country in terms of basketball as we all know that our player are hard worker and have a good shooting skills with movements speed but what we are seeing their previous plays against other country is that they don't have a good chemistry and don't have enough time to practice. But maybe in the year 2023 they can make and have a chance to enter even in quarter finals, semi finals of the competition if they have enough good practice and Build chemistry.
