I'm sure they are already alarmed with what is happening, slowly the star players of the PBA are getting recruited outside, so if they will not act, they will be short of star players that would make the league exciting and that would help to represent the country in international games.
They are alarmed but they lack action to solve the problem they are facing. They are complaining that their players are being poached by other leagues, but they still continue the biased trading and favoring SMC or MVP teams.

Maybe they are not really afraid because PBA is still the most famous league in our country, and they do not have real competition yet. Maybe, when viewership of other leagues get stronger, then they will act on this problem. But by then, it might be too late for PBA.

But unfortunately they got all bashing from their supposed to be fans and people are losing interest to watch every game. We can feel it actually by their attendees also they are not gaining any sympathy towards the action they do because we all know that what's happening there is pure politics and only those big companies are benefiting while the independent ones are suffering. If they cannot change their system maybe for sure we can see the full collapsed of PBA and fans is starting to move on since there is MPBL which is I think the fans favorite at the moment since it represent the city not the company as what I read in the comments in social media.

Let's not let it happen that leads to the collapse of the PBA, it has been popular in the field of basketball here in our country for decades. I really hope that the system going on in the PBA will be fixed early, because sometimes the high-ranking ones get involved in money-for-money.

the quality of each team's game if I compare it back in the 90's is very different from today.

It's not us, it's them, they need to find a way to make this PBA great again. With the numbers of basketball league in the Philippines, I doubt they will stay as king forever if they will not change their old system, no team or team owners should dictate a certain league, and IMO that's what happened with the PBA.

We will see that in his next coming games, either he only got a good game or just because the opponent didn't know him that's why the preparations is not their for him, it's a first game though and for sure other teams are now scouting him and trying to read his skills and capabilities, it will be a challenge to him on how to adjust in case a much tougher player will guard him, though with his height it pretty sure that most of the time he will be against his fellow import.

I'm no longer a fan of Magnolia after the big three breaks up. I used to be one back when  James, PJ and Ping were still solidly playing together, Tim Cone's 2nd grand slam.

Just like the Bay Area Dragons, they were very impressive in their first game but were exposed by Northport on their second. At this point of the conference, each game matters but scouting the best player of each team is important too. It is only 12 games so there is very little window where each team can scout the other teams performance. I am sure each team is watching him so when they face them in elimination or playoffs, they will be ready to deploy a counter to him.

Yes, that's one disadvantage if the conference is too short and then you have to be consistent too otherwise, you might end up in the cellar and will have to win all their remaining games.

For sure, everyone is scouting everyone and looking for their weaknesses as a player and then exploit them as a team. And so we will see which team will remain on top of the standing.

They are already old and have retired already, we are witnessing another veteran Magnolia team, no more team cone but they are still an exciting team to watch due to their excellent defense and everyone is getting good minutes. I would not be surprised if they will win the conference as the commissioner's cup is unpredictable compared to the all-Filipino cup.

Right criticism is everywhere so we can not say that there's a country have no criticism in general because we are all human we are not perfect there's a time that we have this kind of mindset but looking forwards for the import of magnolia so far his first game he is doing good so what we expect in his upcoming match is that he can do more as like you said he is in his prime right now so this will be an advantage for him.

What a monster performance by Magnolia's import Nick Rakocevic from Serbia. I'm impressed with his PBA debut and I think one of the imports who has an impressive debut in the league's history. It's noted that this import faced criticisms right away as other people look at white imports as not that competitive and strong. An unfair judgment and not good behavior tsk tsk.

There will always be racists, we cannot control that. It is just sad that that kind of action is coming from us. We should look beyond the color of the skin; we should know that.
Well, that type of criticism is everywhere and in other countries, when they see the Pinoys out there. They're making fun of us, it's no longer a secret that there are more racists than our kababayans that have never changed. Although, this norm is changing and the good thing about it when someone has proven his worth and he's playing better than the rest, he'll get the respect of the others. Well, it's sad that there's a need to prove himself but that's how it goes I guess.

Wow i got excited after reading post here and started to search with this guy, first impression might be the factor in judging people and we are not exempted with that, we pinoys also have that kind of mentalities, not generalizing but we do have that kind of impressions, moving on, the import of Magnolia is a NBA undrafted a 6'11 white serbian at his age of 24 the guy still on his prime.

I can say that his debut impresses the crowd scoring and rebounding wise. He really helps lift the team.

Will see if competing with the sister companies he will continue to have that same dominance, still early though.

The game between Ginebra and ROS is very surprising, there's no way Ginebra will be able to come back in this game.

ROS now is leading the game with 49-72, and it seemed like Brownlee has been struggling with only 14 points so far.
I'm sure everyone has put their bet on Ginebra, but sorry guys, it's an upset tonight.
This is quiet disappointed, I guess they still need to do more practice and play well with their import it looks like a first game jitters.
Kudos to ROS for playing all out and Ginebra is not an easy team to beat and yet they are able to do so. I can say that this commissioners cup is really exciting with full of surprises. Too early to say but I still believe GInebra will bounce back this conference, let's see if they can adjust on their next game.

ROS did bounce back hard with a big win, I like what they did, they look inspired this season, probably because they have their old coach back again and for sure coach Yeng is very serious in trying to win another championship again, but the question is, can they stay consistent?
Seeing an independent team defeating either a SMC or MVP team makes me happy Smiley.
Well, Ginebra fans might say that "It's their first game and the chemistry around the players isn't there still since they got new players". It might be true so let's see on their next game now that they already had one game to test their "chemistry".

ROS is an independent team, but they have a very good line up. An import who can pass and at the same time take over offensively, bigs who can shoot threes efficiently and they have a good captain in Belga. With a very experienced coach like coach Yeng, I hope that ROS will come back and play in the playoffs like what they are a few years ago. I will watch ROS games now for sure.

As well as a good coaching staff which cannot be controlled by then so seeing how they win to ginebra us really great achievement to have. But its early to celebrate yet since there are many changes that we could see and I will be more happy if I could see an independent team vs smc or mvp team since we might see an unbiased game for that match up.

And they are a young team too. This team can be something someday if they continue to perform this well and coach Yeng continues to guide them. Ginebra was performing badly last night but to put that big of a lead against them is something.

Brgy. Ginebra vs Rain-Or-Shine, congratulations to those bettors who placed a bet for the latter. Pre-game odds are @1.5 for Ginebra against @3 for ROS. Can't believe Ginebra just scored 5 points in the 2nd quarter. That was horrible.

That is one factor that Yeng is back. I'm not expecting that the lead would that be much for ROS and it's Ginebra that's likely to win in what I have thought but it's the opposite.
Consistency is no question for Coach Yeng but that question should go for his players. Sometimes that motivation that's coming from him isn't really motivating the ego of his players but a few of them might take it personally even if they're professionals.

This is coach Yeng's second game as a coach of ROS, on the first game they lost to NLEX so I could say that Ginebra just came out flat on their first game this conference and maybe some of their players are not that 100 percent fit, I mean "basketball fit" so that contributed also to the loss of the Kings and to be fair with ROS, they played balanced offense which is a patented coach Yeng's system.

That's the beauty of betting for the underdog this early in the conference because strong teams can afford to drop a single game or two but let's expect Brownlee and Ginebra to bounce back just like last year.
Yes, strong teams won't mind losing with their first games but too conscious when the matches are in the semis and finals. I mean, that most teams are like that, they can afford to lose when it's just all about the beginning and it doesn't matter to them but they'll recover and bounce back when it's all about close to the end of the conference.
Most teams are like that but we also know that there are teams that have no plans to win and just being used as a farm team.

They have to be more consistent if they really want to enter at least the semi-finals, there’s a lot of good teams in PBA right now and every team is a threat that’s why they have to work harded and I’m sure coach Yeng already familiar with ROS and they can easily adopt with their new system. I didn’t expect to see Ginebra with a huge point deficit, it looks like they are not playing their usual game here, they have to address this as well.

Both 4 teams doing good in this day games and Rain or shine got their first win all local star players doing great and also their import doing good and best adjustment they do and very effective that's why they won against ginebra.
But overall ginebra doing great malonso and their import do their best.
In other game between magnolia vs Terrafirma the game is so close but magnolia still manage and win by the help of their import Rakocevic which is play harder.
