The former is taller and more agile than our own Kai but look at how Tacko's career, he goes back and forth between the NBA and G-league as he lacks what is expected of him, that alone can give us how Kai will end up, it hurts but that is the reality.

You have a point @bisdak40 , this is really true, Tacko was hype during the preseason but I'm not seeing him anymore now in the Celtics line up, tall guys with thin body has a little future in NBA, Kai Sotto should work on his body, maybe be like Kristaps Porziņģis.

Although I'm not really impressed by him, I still hope that he will enter in the NBA, will develop along the way to finally achieve his dream.  Kai Sotto is pressure because he is the only one who are now aiming to be in the NBA, just like in the past, we have Japeth and even Ray Parks, but they didn't make it, so the chances for the Filipinos to enter in the NBA is really low, it hurts but that is the reality.

I'm also hoping that he could make it but looking thus far, the possibility is too slim. He may be drafted but getting the playing minutes would be another story.

Just a simple comparison, Tacko Fall vs Kai Sotto. The former is taller and more agile than our own Kai but look at how Tacko's career, he goes back and forth between the NBA and G-league as he lacks what is expected of him, that alone can give us how Kai will end up, it hurts but that is the reality.

Just my thought though and maybe i'm wrong lol.

Bong Ravena: TNT looking to become better defensive team with new signings

Quote
TNT’s desire to improve its defense prompted the Tropang Giga to sign Glenn Khobuntin, Dave Marcelo, and Ping Exciminiano for the 2021 PBA season.

These are known to be defensive players, and hopefully with a new coach they will be utilize wisely.

That has really been their problem based on my observation, TNT vs BGSM, you know who will win, of course the defensive team. I hope they would really improve defensively and that is going to be seen when the regular season starts. Their consultant was a fan or 3 point shooting that's why TNT was too focus on outside shooting and forget to make good plays in big games like playoffs and finals where games are more offensive.

Kai Sotto no longer playing for Gilas in third window, will rejoin Ignite in G-League

I think it's okay, it's not really a big problem as we have other players who are willing to sacrifice for the country.
Good luck to his journey.

I've been following the updates of Kai Sotto since he got back to the country and it seems that kid is mismanaged.

How come his handlers were prioritizing the Gilas games where in he is not a sure starter there and he may not get a lot of playing time with the Philippine squad.

I really pity the kid as we Filipinos are putting pressure on his young shoulder to be the first full Filipino bloodied to play in the NBA which i think is too stiff of a hill to climb.

Personally, i don't think that he could make it the NBA, he got the height but playing in the NBA does not only require height, you know what i mean on this  Sad.

I hope he will be successful in the G league so his dream to be the first full blooded Filipino NBA player will be achieve, actually it's not only his dream but it's our country's dream because he is going to be our pride.

Correct! If he'll be able to bring the pride it's not on his own but for the entire filipino race. The first full blooded that we can be proud.

Quote
Kai still too young, he doesn't need to distract his mind, his focus is the NBA related thing, and if he will succeed, then we don't have to worry as eventually he will find a way to play with the Gilas, just like Clarkson did and he was really a great contribution.

Yeah another good facts that you mentioned, he don't need to be bothered as fulfilling his dream won't interfere to represent our country
from the national league, it's  a sacrifice that needed to decide but in the long term run it will benefit both side, once he able to achieve playing at NBA the quality of skills that he may share to the team is far better than what he have now.

Imagine, Clarkson and Sotto in the NBA, that would be cool.

I really love seeing this two playing along side, their addition to team brings big impact.

Super cool, we all want that. Clarkson is also our pride although he is not a pure blooded Filipino.
This Jazz team is unstoppable, they are compose of players from different countries and we should be happy that Clarkson represents the Philippines.

It's not about there are still players who are willing to play for the country. Kai Sotto even travel back to home to play for the country. He will play for the country no matter what.

Reading the article, it's just that schedule gone wrong and Kai Sotto will be probably wasting time here in the country instead following his timeline. Doha had to cancel the games due to the pandemic in the Middle East. SBP itself are fine with Kai to pursue his career in NBA G League for now as schedule wasn't fixed yet.

NBA G League I believe is his key towards playing in the NBA, that's his ultimate dream, therefore it's his priority. Honestly, I don't follow the schedule for the FIBA Asia games if this is what we are talking about because I think the roster are not coming from PBA mostly and I don't know the players outside the PBA.

I know Kai because he is popular, lots of videos in youtube trying to hype this kid, but it seems in the NBA G league, he is just an ordinary player.

Let's give this kid a big support, the chance of fulfilling his dream always possible. Playing with gilas or playing in the otherside of the world also gives him that same exposures, like what you have said, there are players who are willing and also capable to take his post, there are many players who are always wanted to be part of this team and represent the country.

Good luck Kai, hope to see more improvements from you. looking forward to see you wearing NBA uniform. Wink

Coach Pido has been a long time coach of the NorthPort, I think the management is happy with the way he handles the team. I'm not sure if they are aiming for a championship but there line up is not enough to compete well against the TNT, and SMB teams. We will see what they can do this season, I'm excited for the coming season, when was that again? was it April?

-Snip-

That was a blessing in disguirse for Romeo because if it did not happen, Romeo would not achieve a championship in his career and an Finals MVP award. Sometimes we see like that because a certain player wants to win badly and thought that the coach decision was wrong, but it was a healthy on but things have to happen.

When Romeo leave the North Port, they are not doing well anymore and then Pringle exit next, and both have won a championship already.

Good for both of them, they are now enjoying the ring though they are seperately now, but the desire of every players is be given a chance to win a title before ending their career. Good thing happened  for both of them as they still actively playing and still have a high chance to win more title respectively.

Yes, that would be this coming April according to the news, it's not final yet but that is their target, we will know more about this once we are getting closer.

PBA targeting April start for Season 46

Quote
THE Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) eyes an April 2021 start for its Season 46—either in the same bubble setup or back to the normal three-conference format depending upon the Covid-19 situation prevailing in the country at that time.

Another thing that was really expected this season are the new drafts especially most of this draft picks are only being drafted because of their words and their commitment to their very own work ethics. I really hope that by April 2021, the government along with the PBA Commissioner could create a way in which every player with their families would be comfortable to be playing within a single season since its really hard to create a bubble with a lot of teams since there would be people coming in and going within this bubbles which could possibly spread the virus like last season but that last season did not have the new Virus strain which is faster to be transmitted.

I really expect most drafts to at least prove themselves within their team practices so that they could be within the starting five since most players are really retiring before the upcoming season.

Some maybe disappointed but honestly there's really no lots of expectation even if he will join the Gilas. We know his priority,  and he has to work on it so he will improve as a player, maybe next time, this time we have to accept that he will be no longer available.

On the other hand, we have some big news for TNT which I think would help their campaign this coming season.

TnT welcomes back Chot Reyes as head coach after letting Mark Dickel go

I thought Dickel was just a consultant, but with this news, it seemed like he was really hired as a Head coach.

The management seems not doing their part if they are really aiming to win a title they should add more quality players and not to trade them up with another team and receive new or old one that they've needed to blend again with the entire squad. Remember how they've handle Romeo a good asset who lead the team to a playoff, after losing to Alaska the team that supposed to have a competitive team becomes more worse.

To the point that Romeo and Coach Pido got aggressive and shows the difference in the middle of the game, Romeo wanted to win as he's asking the coach to let him play while coach Pido see the other side and wanted to rest him. and rest his history.

After that incident, Romeo got traded to TNT and then went to SMB and win a title plus Finals MVP. Though Pringle story is different as he went out cleanly without issue but if the team offer him a better deal then adds up players who can help him building a new competitive team but instead the management choose to let him go and see where he is now.

Bollick and C. Stand are not even enough to bring this team to the Finals, even Anthony.

These big 3 are surely not enough for their team to reach the PBA Finals, we have seen them play already and they still fall short. About Bollick, we don't have an update on him anymore, there's a rumor that the team does not let him play because they were preserving him as they plan to trade him to other team. Bollick has just recover from injury, he hasn't played in the bubble and I don't know if he has already started training now.

That's an old rumor and they have been quite about that as the focus of the "tsismis" is on Cstand being traded to a team of SMC.

If NorthPort could retain Cstand, Anthony and Bolick plus a role player like Sidney Onwubere, for sure this team could compete with teams from SMC and MVP.

How about the coaching stuff, do you still trust they'll be able to handle the team to reach that goal.

If I'm not mistaken, it's still coach Pido Jarencio who is manning this team, but is this man as good as coach Tim Cone and other great coaches in the PBA? Given we have no problem with the players with this line up, I'm just worried about how the coach will handle these talents.

Coach Pido Jarencio will still call the shots for the NorthPort Batang Pier and if we compare him to coach Tim Cone, it's a no-brainer that the former is very far if we talk about achievements. Tim Cone is a brilliant coach and we saw that when he lacks talent on his squad, he offset that with execution.

Coach Pido will do fine as head coach of NorthPort, just need more time and personnel to get that PBA crown and if they won't trade players, i think the can achieve that very soon.

COLUMN: Moral of Vic Manuel contract saga? 'Wag magsalita ng tapos

Quote
CHICAGO - After six losing seasons where all his heavy lifting fell short of a PBA title he has always dreamed of, Vic Manuel must have felt like he had more luggage than an airport shuttle.

So on January 8, when no desirable contract landed on his lap after another trying year, he told this to Spin.ph.

"Kung ganoon na lang ang gagawin, aalis na lang ako sa kanila."

A day later, after meeting with head coach Jeff Cariaso, the bull-strong 6-foot-4, 231-pound Manuel upped the ante and insisted that "Ayoko ko na talagang maglaro sa Alaska."

Manuel was insisting he would get out of his present team but in the end he still sign with them.
Does it help his reputation or not,.. maybe because no team are interested with him that's why he was force to sign again with his team?
