Mac Belo is traded to Meralco Bolts for Baser Amer and Bryan Faundo,... I think this is a good decision by the Bolts, Baser Amer is good but he lacks defense, they certainly need someone who can score in the inside and this is a big break for Mac Belo as this will give him a chance to play in the playoffs.

This is a fair trade, no one should complain.  Grin

Fair trade as both teams will benefits for those players involves, I like Amir but it's true that he's lack in defense and Bolts needs another guy who can provide both offense and defense to strenghten their squad.

While in the other side, Amer can continue working for his offensive contribution with blackwater.

The chance of getting to playoffs or to push up to the finals is getting nearer for Bello, he just need to play more harder in helping the bolts knowing that this team also have the talents to make it to the finals.

I think he will fit with the playing style of Meralco Bolts, he will be given enough time and he can focus in the inside since they have guards who love to drive and it will caught attention for defense. Belo if I'm not mistaken has played with Gilas, and he was such a productive player.

By the way mate, it's Belo, not Bello.
I think Belo will benefit from this trade, norman can help him to get better in the paint I have seen him in blackwater and he did not flourish in that, surely black can train and give him some points on how to do it better, so what about Hodge what will be his role, Meralco now having lots of big men who now will step up in amir's place, genebra and San Miguel now is at the top again, competing with them need mo firepower, i hope Meralco can now much them.

I'm curious bro, where did you read that rumor? is there any site or PBA forum where we can check the forum. Honestly, the sites that I follow are Pba.ph and spin.ph only because these are just the sites that are posted here every time some poster give some update or news.

I am just following private individuals on FB who are claiming they have credible news sources inside the PBA and in fairness to them some of the rumors they released became true  Smiley.

If we rely too much on SPIN.PH and PBA.PH, we might be the last one to know about that news lol.

Here is a sample of what the guy posted on his FB page:

Quote

During a family dinner, the chicks sister and the 4th kuya are trying to work a deal.
The chick said, I will STAND then kick you til it will MARK your rib.
The 4th said, “No way, I SANG you JOCK the disc, Fair?”

Everything in the PBA are just rumors until one day they become a reality  Smiley.

This is one of the good news thus far, Mac Belo will finally be able to contribute his talent in a team that has a potential to win a championship.

I hope he will not be so prone to injury and he will play even harder to provide the Bolts what they need.

I remember, when Belo was still new with the PBA, he was aggressive and having some great stats in the game, but when he got injured, slowly his production has drop and haven't seen him back from his old self yet, hopefully this team will inspire him.

Looks like we have some good news, Greg Slaughter is back in the PBA, he might not be able to completely stop Fajardo but he can minimize Fajardo's offense in the floor, I like the chances of the Gin kings now since they are also coming from a championship and a win, and even with CJ on board with SMB, I guess Ginebra still as a good shot of winning a championship again.

Looks like Greg has no more options left except to sign for the Kings lol.

With how things are moving now on the PBA, i think trading Slaughter to another team will not happen this season as there are rumors that Magnolia is interested in having Cstand but with a high price, Ian Sangalang and Jackson Corpuz, this is only a rumor until approved  Grin.

Mark Caguioa is enjoying himself being a bench warmer, probably he won't retire soon since he can still play and he can give a spark to the team when it needed, his experience is very helpful to the team and though he played a limited minutes but he can give a quality game.
I remember someone asked him or it's him that asked his colleague if it's okay for him to retire already. But that colleague said that he shouldn't retire yet and before he retire, there should be a remarkable title for him which will be remembered by everybody.
I think he's trying to aim that before his retirement once he achieves that, he can already step outside the league and announce his retirement. Not unless it's the management that doesn't want him to retire.

I think the management values him a lot, he is still part of the many championships Ginebra have enjoyed and probably more to come. If he is called to  play, he still plays hard and that's why the management like him, they call him Mark the Spark because he can provide any spark when the team needed him, I'm seen that many times, when the starters are struggling, they'll insert him and boom... Ginebra slowly got back in the game.
Yes, his achievements are noticeable and he's like the premium in the league. His passion is still there and his click to the fans never faded. Yeah, maybe it's the management that stops him from retiring and he's just giving it to the fans and to the management but he's not forced to do it because he still has the passion for the game and at the same time, it's still a contract for him. If the retirement comes, I'm sure that there's still ample opportunity that awaits him.

We have lots of suprising news lately, honestly I did not expect Slaughter to come back in the PBA, maybe they assure him that he will not get traded for C. Stand?

I think there's no such thing. Alfrancis Chua says that Slaughter is the one who did a mistake before so we can assume that the management didn't put some assurance for Slaughter about not putting him into a trade. Slaughter is the one who comes to BGSM requesting another contract and not the team ask for his return.

Magnolia in the otherside needs to have a complete revamp, considering that they are also part of Cojuangco's business empire they are currently struggling.

Not a priority. SMB first then BGSM then Magnolia. Cheesy

They cover the point spread yes, but beating the SMB, I don't see it happened most of the time.

SMB is not the SMB like before that even you put out Fajardo, they are still a beast. Terrence Romeo and CJ Perez will share the same role so unlike in DYIP where the latter always do the playmaking, he will adjust to the SMB's system limiting his offensive role unless he will decide to take over.

Setting aside other SMC teams, A healthy Phoenix or TNT can handle them. SMB just become more threat again because of Fajardo, not with CJ Perez. Take out Fajardo and SMB will struggle again even CJ Perez on-board.

Of course, when I said SMB that's the whole team, including JMF, he is the heart and soul of the team, without him the team will struggle, and we have seen it during the bubble. They will become better with CJ Perez, the fact that they acquire him through trade, they should know how to manage him.

You nailed it mate, no matter how they say that SMB is a strong team but if you take the Kraken out they will still be an ordinary team though a contender but not assured a seat in the Finals.

We have seen that during their Petron days, their line-up back then can represent the the Philippines in the Asian games lol but they struggle a lot as it is very hard to coach an All-star team.

Oh well Lets wait for whatever plans that SMB corp will do with Magnolia, since both Gins and Beer kings added
good players to boost their lineups.

Magnolia in the otherside needs to have a complete revamp, considering that they are also part of Cojuangco's business empire they are currently struggling.

The needs of changing the strategy or trading players to seek for some good blending
and chemistry for a much stronger squad coming this All-Filipino cup.

Breaking News:

Gregg Slaughter signs new contract with Ginebra

As expected, Slaughter returns to the BGSM with a new contract. There are no details about the contract were revealed yet but whatever it is, it's a good improvement to the BGSM lineup this upcoming All-Filipino Cup.

I hope to see some big movements too outside SMC teams aside from hunting good rookies on the Rookie draft.

For seeing what SMB got from trade recently I doubt other teams can out numbered them but since Slaughter is now back maybe he can contribute on the paint and I really hope he improve so well in this season since he need to be dominant specially he is so tall and he should used that advantage against his enemy since he's so soft before that's why other players doesn't really take him as a big threat.

But hope he's improved guy when filipino cup is open.
