For his size and athletic ability he is a good use for a team that is looking a player that will fill the power forward position but the critical problem of this guy is his attitude. Nobody knows when he's gonna explode lol and be ejected. He may do more harm than good to a team, seen that often.

Agree with you lol. Short-tempered that instead of using his strength to dominate the area around the paint and play wisely, he is mostly known as always being involved in a heated discussion with physical arguments.

These players don't understand that being too arrogant will affect their careers. Look, if he's not like that, contract signing shouldn't take a long time to grant. What's the problem then? He's become one of the options instead.

Abueva was worst I believe, unfortunately Abueva is more talented than him so he can't expect that he will be treated like Abueva. In the world of sports, attitude really matters and even some team value the attitude more than the talent... Look at Allen Iverson (nba player), he was so talented by the management choose not to signed him. I know it's a different league but I'm just trying to give an example that attitude really matters.

The indefinitely suspension already proved that he is the worst, but he has change, hopefully he will show some consistency with being professional and to master on how to manage his emotion, otherwise if he will still get involve in a fight, then I don't know if PBA would still give him a chance.

Northport news, no NABONG.

What do you think, should they sign Nabong or not?

NorthPort still deliberating over Kelly Nabong contract renewal

For me, I think Nabong deserve to be sign again or to play in another team in case Northport will not sign him again.
He is a big man which can bring so much energy in the floor and he also shoots 3s with confidence and accuracy.

I don't know if you guys notice, but as C. Stand struggle during the bubble, Nabong was always there to help by producing for the team.
Nabong deserves to get in and has to sign a contract. The guy is big and he can play well. He can be a great wall for a team. But whichever team that will take him on board, as long as there's a contract for him, he should get in.
He's also one of the underrated players in the PBA but can be considered also as one of the good players out there.

I agree, he deserve to have a good contract in case NorthPort won't offer him, his a big man that can adds both offense and defense, remember when he still palying with SMB, he helped Romeo from time to time.

Team who needs a big man should consider offering good perks to this man, he can provide as what we've seen from the last bubble
he already improved not just to defend but now he also aiming to score points and help the entire team.
We know that his attitude towards the game and other players could be the culprit why some teams are stopping him to get a contract. But he's a dependable guy. Aside from the teams mentioned. Are there any teams that are good to fit him?
Do you guys have a team that is really ideal for him and agrees to be with the players on that particular team?

Kelly Nabong, milder version of Calvin Abueva hehehe.

NorthPort should be careful on assessing whether they want this guy back or they will just pick someone on the draft which is much cheaper and tamable.

I agree with you, he is so underrated, he always works hard in the floor and thus far, I think he fits with the North Port, unfortunately this team is not a great team as C. Stand struggles and Bollick was injured. Nabong is not anymore young, he might be looking for a long term contract, not as big as the popular in sports but at least a long term, so let's hope he will be sign and will be a role player of such team.
Yup, I'm hoping that he'll get to the team that he deserves and values what he can contribute to them.

Nabong's good but fights are his weakness if I recall, a lot of big players have been on clash with him. Sometimes the attitude and behavior is detrimental to get you into a good team, maybe he got the skills but if you are easily pissed off then that will be a big issue.
Yeah, it could be one reason why others don't like him. But it's not an exception because there are other players who are also getting into fights. It's just part of the passion and love for each game that he plays. He doesn't want to be compromised if there's something wrong that happens to him or to his teammate. Although I don't encourage and condone it.

Well that's true but in the bubble, we did not see him anymore involve in a fight. He seemed to have learned already, or maybe he was just trying to play cool since he knows his contract will expire soon. Actually only the management can decide whether they will give him another opportunity or not.

on the other hand we also have two players that was not renewed by their team.

Rain or Shine not renewing contracts of Ryan Araña, Kris Rosales

You know what, probably the reason why lots of players now not having a contract is because the PBA is not making money like they usually are. Due to the pandemic, the expected income was not achieved, hence, just like a company, they are now limiting their employees.

Rosales is still young, I think he'll still be useful to the league, but for Ryan Araña, he might be retiring soon, so I think it will not hurt so much.

Winding down.

I'm curious bro, where did you read that rumor? is there any site or PBA forum where we can check the forum. Honestly, the sites that I follow are Pba.ph and spin.ph only because these are just the sites that are posted here every time some poster give some update or news.

I am just following private individuals on FB who are claiming they have credible news sources inside the PBA and in fairness to them some of the rumors they released became true  Smiley.

If we rely too much on SPIN.PH and PBA.PH, we might be the last one to know about that news lol.

Here is a sample of what the guy posted on his FB page:

Quote

During a family dinner, the chicks sister and the 4th kuya are trying to work a deal.
The chick said, I will STAND then kick you til it will MARK your rib.
The 4th said, “No way, I SANG you JOCK the disc, Fair?”

Everything in the PBA are just rumors until one day they become a reality  Smiley.

Thanks man, I'll look at those kind of people in FB, maybe I can get some information too.

Meanwhile, onto the latest news.

Cone says Ginebra has signed former Alaska player MJ Ayaay

Great acquisition by the Gin Kings, Ayaay could contribute to their team in terms of defense as he play with real hard work in the floor.

I don't know if you guys notice, but as C. Stand struggle during the bubble, Nabong was always there to help by producing for the team.

Only in Northport, he received a good playing time so there's a significant improvement on his stats. Before that, he was on 3 conferences in SMB but his stats are poor. If Northport doesn't have a choice, they can keep Nabong as there is no alternative unless they are targeting someone else.

And I noticed Nabong's change of behavior. Before he is like Belga, always involving in a physical altercation even he's not on the involved players but now, doing what a basketball player should be.

He played with Meralco before he played with the SMB, his behavior was not really good but I think he has already changed himself, so I believe he should be given a chance because as a player, he can contribute so it's not really that bad.

He teared his Jersey and got suspended, that was what happen when he was playing with the bolts.

Mac Belo is traded to Meralco Bolts for Baser Amer and Bryan Faundo,... I think this is a good decision by the Bolts, Baser Amer is good but he lacks defense, they certainly need someone who can score in the inside and this is a big break for Mac Belo as this will give him a chance to play in the playoffs.

This is a fair trade, no one should complain.  Grin

Fair trade as both teams will benefits for those players involves, I like Amir but it's true that he's lack in defense and Bolts needs another guy who can provide both offense and defense to strenghten their squad.

Fair trade? I don't think so  Cool.

This trade is just like the Perez trade. Perez, the no.1 pick in exchange for a bunch of role players while Belo, the no.1 pick in exchange for a single inconsistent offensive Amir  Grin. Who do you think win?

This is a double win for Coach Black as we all knew that the Bolts is in dire need of bigs so Belo is a big help and disposing Amir will benefit Coach Norman's son, Aaron as he will now be the main point guard of the Bolts if Newsome will play the 2 spot.

Farm team will always be a farm team hehehe.

Nice point though but hopefully they are not wrong for getting Belo in their team, Belo's production is not that much impressive compared to his rookie year, so let's see how this things work out.

I remember they have Coach Norman's son and I think the guy won the best rookie (correct me if I'm wrong), so there squad now will improve.

Amer is good but Meralco's basketball brand is defense, so they finally decided to get rid of him.

Unlike the SMB-Dyip trade, this is a fair trade.

Bolts have Newsome already as their point and they already have too many Guards right now so they need someone who can play as Forward and Belo is a good addition to them. On the other side, Elite needs a solid guard that can be a leader in the court and I think that Amer can do it. Amer with Daquioag or Tolomia can be a good duo.

Lets not forget though that Belo has a history of injuries back in the years. I just hope that he will not get injured or this will favor the Elite.

He is slowly getting back in shape, but this time it's the bolts who will benefit for him, and bolts would not give 2 players to get him if they don't trust Belo's capability to help a team to win, I'm excited for this new look Meralco, for sure Belo will be in the starting 5.
