Bollick and C. Stand are not even enough to bring this team to the Finals, even Anthony.

These big 3 are surely not enough for their team to reach the PBA Finals, we have seen them play already and they still fall short. About Bollick, we don't have an update on him anymore, there's a rumor that the team does not let him play because they were preserving him as they plan to trade him to other team. Bollick has just recover from injury, he hasn't played in the bubble and I don't know if he has already started training now.

That's an old rumor and they have been quite about that as the focus of the "tsismis" is on Cstand being traded to a team of SMC.

If NorthPort could retain Cstand, Anthony and Bolick plus a role player like Sidney Onwubere, for sure this team could compete with teams from SMC and MVP.

How about the coaching stuff, do you still trust they'll be able to handle the team to reach that goal.

If I'm not mistaken, it's still coach Pido Jarencio who is manning this team, but is this man as good as coach Tim Cone and other great coaches in the PBA? Given we have no problem with the players with this line up, I'm just worried about how the coach will handle these talents.

Manuel will stay with the Alaska Aces, sorry for those who are hoping he will transfer to another team.
Good to know that news for him that he'll stay. The big man of Alaska Aces will stay then. After all of those speculations that we've discussed that he's about to transfer to another team.
Well, it's still Alaska that has won the contract for him. I'll just be happy wherever he is and at least he got back to his home.

Alaska keep him as he is only their chance to at least compete with other teams which has improve their roster. I don't see a chance where Alaska will reach the playoffs again next season, but with Manuel, they can always play a competitive game.
Improved and experienced player. They can't just release but I think with all of our speculations about him that he really wanted to go to another him is what's going to make him happy. But in the end, it's about the talks and negotiations between him and his manager and with Alaska.
In all of this, Alaska still won him so good luck to the upcoming conference.

Alaska feeds him and his manager's demands so there's nothing to expect in regards of switching team. The talk works well and both side did agree to whatever contract that Manuel camps asked.

I agree with the post above you, manuel is a big factor to continue competing even the lineup is not that good compared to other teams who already added role players.

For now, having Manuel gives them a chance to win, tough to say if they can proceed and play around the playoff
too early for that, but who knows what adjustment Alaska may bring this incoming season.

Sidney Onwubere can give a boost to the North Port if he will be given a good playing time. I saw how he improved last season, he has the talent and he is now a good shooter as well, good in defense and shooting is what a team need and I think Sidney Onwubere will provide that for the North port.

He can help the NP but NP will not be a contender if C. Stand will not play his best.

Sidney Onwubere can be a role player but cannot be a main player, he does not have the talent yet as far as I can see it.

He was just frustrated at the beginning but he help his team realized that they should not let go of him. At least Manuel was vocal and honest, that helps the team to know that he is not anymore happy with the contract or term agreement, so for sure we will see a better Manuel this season to come.
We will really expect him to be better by this season. And based on what I've read in some articles, he'll be getting a good incentive and salary for his contract.
And that probably convinced him and his manager to take the deal and also with good talks from the side of Alaska including coach Jeffrey Cariaso's comparison of him to other players that he's the team's star.

Alaska keep him as he is only their chance to at least compete with other teams which has improve their roster.

I think that's not the reason why Alaska keeps Manuel. They have a stand back then that they can push without Manuel as the damage is already done. After all, Manuel takes the issue into the media before doing it first in a professional way which is way better so Alaska will be the one to blame for a failed negotiation. Alaska also seems interested in trading Manuel (because Manuel wants to) but only if they can get a better deal to other teams.

And the fact that Alaska keeps Manuel, means no good offer for other teams. Alaska's management might be seen as the bad one here in the story by others but they are grateful that even Manuel keeps asking for a trade and even mentioned his preferred teams, Alaska gives him an option to stay if no teams can give a good offer.

Well then, the story is now close. Hoping that after re-signing Manuel, Alaska's plan for rebuilding wouldn't end there. Even with a healthy Manuel, I still don't see them as one of the good contenders next conference.

Same here, Alaska is not the same team anymore, their golden days was when they are with Calvin Abueva, but they let the beast leave the team and now I'm sure they have regret a big time, also they change their coach, so this Alaska team are now a complete different team, only Manuel and Casio are the members of the old squad IIRC.

After all the speculation, here's what happen.

Vic Manuel close to sealing a deal with Alaska on contract extension

Quote
IS it a case of case of all's well that ends well between Alaska and its wantaway star.

That appears to be the case as the latest information reaching SPIN.ph is that Vic Manuel is close to reaching an agreement with the Uytengsu organization on a new deal, just weeks after a messy contract dispute was made public.

The info was confirmed by veteran players' agent Danny Espiritu, who bared that there's a strong chance that the 6-foot-4 bruiser will stay put with the Aces after all if the two sides can agree on a few more fine prints in a new deal.

"We're working on a new deal that will keep Vic at Alaska, which I feel is 'yun naman ang gusto ng mga fans," Espiritu told SPIN.ph without divulging terms of the agreement being drafted for Alaska's premier scoring threat.

Manuel will stay with the Alaska Aces, sorry for those who are hoping he will transfer to another team.

Maybe the price is right, done deal with what the camp ask. It's good to see him stay with the team he really well known, Vic contributions
with the Aces is really remarkable.

He deserve to get his demand if there's something behind our knowldege, There's always good realtionship that can continue to work out between him and the entire managements.

So nothing to expect after this finalization of this new deal, he's gonna continue playing with the Aces.

Maybe the contract was already a long term contract, with this news, it tells that Manuel is still very valuable for the team, happy for him, and hopefully he will play more inspired now that he has a new contract with his old team.

For his size and athletic ability he is a good use for a team that is looking a player that will fill the power forward position but the critical problem of this guy is his attitude. Nobody knows when he's gonna explode lol and be ejected. He may do more harm than good to a team, seen that often.

Agree with you lol. Short-tempered that instead of using his strength to dominate the area around the paint and play wisely, he is mostly known as always being involved in a heated discussion with physical arguments.

These players don't understand that being too arrogant will affect their careers. Look, if he's not like that, contract signing shouldn't take a long time to grant. What's the problem then? He's become one of the options instead.

Abueva was worst I believe, unfortunately Abueva is more talented than him so he can't expect that he will be treated like Abueva. In the world of sports, attitude really matters and even some team value the attitude more than the talent... Look at Allen Iverson (nba player), he was so talented by the management choose not to signed him. I know it's a different league but I'm just trying to give an example that attitude really matters.

Attitude kills career indeed. No one exempt to this as managment choose players who can work with the entire team instead of playing alone with his individual skills.

Abueva's case if we still remember, that such attitude removed him from the league and let him realize what's been done wrong. We see know how he value that suspension as we are now seeing him play more on skills and not acting like he was before.

Nabong if given a chance he should see that changes for  much better long stay career, as the competition
around the league is really high.

I will definitely agree with you here, without a good attitude you won't last in PBA as this game is about sportsmanship, if you don't have that, you have no place in this league, and a player has to remember that the more he plays better, the more he will gain followers, therefore he should be a good role model.

The indefinitely suspension already proved that he is the worst, but he has change, hopefully he will show some consistency with being professional and to master on how to manage his emotion, otherwise if he will still get involve in a fight, then I don't know if PBA would still give him a chance.

Calvin Abueva is a changed man, he got no choice.

With that, Phoenix will be strong contender once PBA resumes as he will now be focus on improving his game and helping his team win games, he will not exert any effort anymore fighting anyone in a game.
Phoenix still have the same line up who played in the bubble IMO.
Calvin already have signed a new contract, he deserved that but let's see if this team will get into in the PBA finals this coming season.

Maybe they realized that Nabong is not worth to be back with them and like what i've said, there are a lot of players that can replace his position in the draft poll. They have said that this could be the deepest draft ever in the PBA as there are lot of talents applying for the draft.

That would make the PBA more exciting seeing this rookie playing, as what I've noticed, most of them are Phil Am, so we are slowly getting the site we like to see, soon enough PBA will be filled with half blooded Filipinos.
