i really dont know what to do anymore. if you believe this fud, trying to get a refund would be the best. but i want that asic Sad

i dont think its a scam, i think there was an issue with a supplyer and they are not telling it, offcourse this is speculation

The ban from the forums was the final straw for me mate, I want the ASIC but so far, we are less than 2 weeks away from when we were meant to get it, and I had some concerns about my investment, of course there could have been a supplier issue, but they were all about transparency to begin with and that seems to have evaporated in the last two months unfortunately, so I will be doing what I can within my power and within the laws of the UK and the EU, to make sure I am not £1,635 out of pocket, if that means missing out on an ASIC, then I guess that is how I must take it, but right now I do not believe giving them any more money is a wise option for me, of course this is only my opinion and I hope your ASIC arrives for you in a timely fashion mate Smiley

thank you, i hope so to, since i have paid 100% and both times with bitcoin

This whole game is changing so fast … what is hot today is cold tomorrow. For example, these guys (scam ?) are talking about
960mhs @ 152 watts for < $7500   ….  August delivery … https://www.moonasics.com

Buyer beware … BTC only ...

Fiaz just stated that if you don't pay within 2 weeks since CC started you can kiss your order for goodbye.

https://forum.alpha-t.net/index.php?topic=782.0

This is actually what they want to happen, which is why they're not spreading that deadline far and wide. This lets them recover some overhead, giving them some free deposits, and they can then resell the equipment and make up for small losses.

I don't think it's a scam, but they're running in unethical manners and they're being very shoddy. You can't legally ban someone from customer support, and yet they're banning them from the customer support forums. They proclaimed transparency, more than anyone else. Instead, it was no different. If they'd just let people know that there were issues, and explain them and explain the delays, then that would've been transparency and would've helped.

They earn one of the bigger douche awards of the year.

Frankly if you want an ASIC, here's the general rule of mining: MH @ high wattage now is better than MH @ low wattage later down the road. Grab off the shelf gear now, then sell it when something better comes along. You can buy 250mh now for almost the same price as AT's 250mh gear, and have it within 2 days.

GH units are being prototyped and laid out right now. Good luck everyone.

Actually the question is if you want this ASIC within 3+ months from now. If you answer is still yes then you can take a chance. Faith that they can meet the promised specs is the other thing.

Can't read it, banned.

On a side note, I have spoken with the bank today, they require a written statement of intent for me to instigate a charge back, I am just collating all my correspondence from them, E-Mail's, updates etc and will be handing them over later on today to get the process moving forward.

There is nothing about "you will see the working prototype before we ask you to pay the rest of the money" promise.

Inconvenient posts have shorter and shorter lifespan on their forum.

Its new?

On alpha-t Website :

Cancellation & Refund Policy

You may cancel your order at any time before shipment. Once the equipment has been shipped, it is no longer to possible to cancel your order and/or request a refund. Should you encounter a problem with your product, please see the warranty section for more information regarding warranty on our products.

Should you cancel your order,  you agree that we are allowed to charge you with a £70 GBP administrative fee. We will deduct the administrative fee from the amount due to be refunded to you in accordance with the terms above before we process the refund. We may also deduct transaction fees from the to be refunded amount in the event that your payment method or credit card issuer does not support refunds, thereby forcing us to refund you in another manner.

Alpha-T can't have it both ways. They can't retroactively change the T&Cs to apply to customers who bought both before and after they've changed the conditions to suit their whims.

I'd just report them to trading standards. These guys are taking everyone for a ride, and the fact that they're refusing to issue refunds is a joke. Sales of Goods act covers you because the goods are no longer as described when you originally made the purchase, so under that law you're entitled to a refund. Under Distance Seller Regulations you're entitled to a refund up until 14 days after receiving the unit, and any time before then.

If you can prove they've changed the specs since you made your purchase, you may want to try that angle.

DSR applies throughout the E.U. Sales & Goods, I'm not so sure about.

Clueless!
Bet you don't get banned from the forum either for expressing an opinion on another web site.

as far as I know I was banned from the alpha site for stuff I wrote on this forum...just an FYI I suppose I coulda said something
over there but to the best of my knowledge (at least within the last month or two) nothing comes to mind

anyway it is a moot point they will can't/won't/ or will not ship product in time and as a result of their failed efforts expect everyone to be
all chipper about losing the 30% down payment for a pre-funded item

we will see how it shakes out...but seems to be following the hashfast/bfl scrypt so far..it is all the customers fault

I would love to see if alpha tech additives to offer a batch 2 and if they can afford to make a batch 2 since their shitty chips are packed like sardines in the tin can they designed.
The only way they could batch 2 would be to put out a 28nm version of the chip but who will tape it out for them? Drexel hates them with their reputation no one would partner with them. Customers would be afraid to go though another mismanaged pre order.

My guess is alpha tech will shut down as soon as the warranties are up. Either what ever it is now or what ever Fiaz edits it to in the future.

Keep dreaming mate. If they ship anytime before August, I will pray to God and sing Hallelujah. If it's past August and I have no product, I'm gonna rip each of their goddam akram family members a new asshole by suing the living shit out of them. I wonder how it feels to have a 10 incher up their asses and hope they go to hell them motherfucking cunts.

Anyone planning on starting an AT lawsuit thread?  There seems to be interest and a number of people have already started legal action individually. Better to group together as a class action.

for what exactly?

you entered into an agreement with them
They changed the agreement. They radically changed the equipment footprint and in particular power requirements. They didn't ask get us to sign off on those changes, they didn't give any choices. The entire agreement that we signed (Feb.2014) has been modified from the one there now (7/14). They have made many "wording changes" (lawyers love that crap) to take themselves off the hook AFTER the fact. Every contract I've EVER been involved with (and I've been in the communications business for over 40 years) requires a sign off of the client when changes are made. Changing a contract without client approval and sigh off make the contract invalid) I no longer have the power (electrical breakers) to run the darn things without extension cable running all over the house or having the house wiring to a larger gage (code). That would cost half as much as the miners. I would have never purchased anything I couldn't run or would cost so much more money to accommodate. Their changes have put me in a box I can't get out of without just walking away from my 30% - about 4k. Under the circumstances they should refund anyone that wants out because of these changes. -M

Where can i find dat new agreement? (7/14)
It's the current agreement - https://alpha-t.net/terms-order/

Well, I have had a reply from them.....

"Hello there,

We are very sorry but as per our cancellation policy it has been longer
than 5 months since you placed your order therefore you are no longer
eligible for a refund. We have been very clear and open with our terms
of order, it was released as a news update, it is easily available on
our website and you are urged to view it on the product page before you
order. Our terms only guaranteed minimum hash rate, that is besides the
point, the only change is the lack of LCD.

Best Regards,

Alpha Technology Team"

They have admitted to not including an LCD, thus breaking their contract already, the unit was supposed to be a stand alone unit, with an LCD panel, pretty sure the machine was supposed to have WiFi in it as well, a built in power supply and a much smaller sized foot print, hopefully this is enough of a change in the spec to gather traction somewhere, but either way, it's all getting interesting.
