Far as I know Tom has always maintained a "week after Thanksgiving" schedule. He did seem to have a calender mishap at one point

, but I don't think his shipping schedule has changed at any point.

I'm going to start a business taking pre-orders to fund vaporware and I want 10k customers JUST LIKE YOU! Grin

It's not unreasonable to expect a company to follow their own timetable or to jump on them when they do otherwise. There's significant money at stake here. If BFL fails to ship first their customers' ROI will be considerably lengthened. A huge number of their pre-orders were placed by people reasonably expecting them to ship in October and therefore first. The difference between Oct & Nov may be minsicule to these customers, but the difference between Oct and Dec may be huge if a "smaller" company beats them to the punch.
