Very High rejection rate and lot of disconnections.  Huh

Rejected: 102.5 kH/s (14.7%) Angry

654.4 kH/s 24-hour Average  Huh

This is on R9 280 X.  Angry

it is 830 MHS now. It must be a bot or ASIC miners  or  1000 R9 290X cards. only the user can tell.

I was on middlecoin from the start up until Max came out and I never had rejects over 5%.  I assume that is because the newer more profitable low diff coins couldn't handle the volume of MC so we didn't have the low diff reject issue.

What I am concerned with is comparing apples to oranges - reject rate needs to be taken into account when comparing profitability.

I do wish Terk would take down that announcement that the Rejects issue is resolved. It clearly is not! Pool rejects continue to bounce around way over the normal 2-3%. I've had (brief but seemingly valid) periods of almost 0 rejects, but 10-15% is typical and in the last 10 minutes I'm running over 31% rejects! I've tweaked and tweaked settings to no avail, it is jumping around due to something on the server end. It's making me pine for Middlecoin, which is ridiculous...  Roll Eyes

5-15% is typical.  Depends on what coin is being mined.  Avg on middle is 7-10%, again depending on what coin is being mined.

Nothing is stopping you guys from setting up your own EU coin switching pool.

Don't be stupid, be realistic.

He is pretty right though....
Actually there is something stopping me from setting up a coin switching pool in EU. I have no skills in the area first of all. Second of all I don't have time to devote. So asking for someone else to do it as a suggestion (and to a guy that already knows exactly what he's doing..) is just the right way to do it.

Sounds like the lazy man's out.  You are at the mercy of another's skills and your lack of work ethic.  His way is the right way, till he deems it necessary or desirable to change.  If you don't like it, gain some skills, dedicate some time and do it yourself, then you can dictate to others your way of life.

Laziness is no excuse.  Then again, the "get rich quick" type nature of cryptocurrency attracts the lazy, whiny, and stupid.  I need to stay off the forums, every time I read them I want to kill baby kittens.

Even if it's not counting rejects in the profit rate, it still hurts if you are suffering higher than average rejects. If we are running at 10% rejects and .0100 BTC/Mhash, for example, that still implies we could be earning ~7% more if rejects could be cut to 3% like other pools. Even though the official rate wouldn't change, our personal profits would.

I was running 15-20% rejects an hour ago, now it has nosedived to 0-3% for the last 30 minutes. I wonder if it is just coin switches, and if so what can be done to mitigate it. We need a software solution either on the pool/server side, or someone who understands the problem to build something into kalroth's cgminer, or show us how to manage it in CGwatcher with the multiple profiles or something.

Can someone explain to me how CleverMining is getting so many rejects considering its hash power has gone up significantly? Its a problem with Terks code it seems. Considering Waffle had 1GH last week and there was amost less than 1% of rejects. I am tired of seeing the phrase its normal, its not.

I am tired of seeing people like you criticizing something you don't even understand!
IT IS NORMAL. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HASHPOWER. It switches coins quickly, and mines very quick coins, so a higher reject rate IS PERFECTLY NORMAL!
What are you retarded? Compared to every other pool out there, NO ONE IS GETTING THAT REJECT %.

I want to know whether Terks profitability % is based on hashes WITH rejection or % of hash before the rejection.

The profitability % is based on hashes without rejection (Only counts accepted shares)
To calculate your actual profitability, you have to subtract by the reject %
0.01042 - 10.7% rejection = 0.00930506

LD;DR - It's pretty good here, but could be better.

So I've been trying to compare CM with MC, and so far this is what I've found:

-Rejects are high here, that's for sure.  Why?  Well, maybe it's the fast coin switch, or the latency, or the quick growth of the pool, or something to do with the code, not really sure.  You'd think that fast coins should give stales, and not rejects, but I'm sure eventually we'll have more of a concrete answer on this.  As an example, I've been averaging 15-20% rejects here, whereas I've normally had <0.5% rejects.

-Hash-rate seems MUCH lower here, and very inconsistent -- Normally one would expect to take their own hash rate, multiply it by the profit per MH per day number, and get your result.  But with such high rejects, hash-rates are gimped.  A few things to say about that though; it's amazing that the pool is so profitable even considering the high rejects and if we can get those rejects down we're all going to be mega-super-rich!

-An unfortunate side-effect of the unstable / unpredictable hash-rates and abnormally high rejects create a bit of a distrustful environment, at least imho.  This is probably just a lack of education on what's happening, and why it's happening specifically here and not on other pools, so far as I've heard anyways.

-Even with the rejects and inconsistent hash-rate, the profits here seem to be good.  Although my tests weren't the best due to some slight differences in the rigs I used, I've found that at least over the past few days, CM has given significantly better returns than MC.  If you add in the bit of extra transparency, and the 1.x% less fees vs MC, over-all I'm happy to put my hashes here for now.

I was on Middlecoin for a few months, and had some amazing days (ie 0.118 BTC for a single day in Dec with ~3.2 MH), but the lack of transparency, and the recent meh returns has me thinking that this or any other decent profitability pool could have done pretty close to the same given market circumstances at the time.

Power to the people!
Oi, no anger.. just confusion.

I have a steady ping of 80ms to us.clevermining.com, but i'm still seeing 27% reject rate. I like how Clevermining is setup, but that's almost 10x the loss of other pools, some of which have even worse pings to the server from my location.

Could we get an explanation of what's happening? It doesn't seem to just be a network connection issue..

try changing settings i played with  mine for a few days now im below the pools avg usualy.

Hmm,

would you mind to share your config..? I'd agree with you, but if I change to waffle, (or even middlecoin), suddenly my rejects drop to almost nothing)

If your config is getting you low rejects, I'd super appreciate knowing the values you're using. :-)

sure i use sgminer 4.1 and heres my 2 configs 1 for 7970x2 and 1 for 5870 and 6950

Bal3wolf being a boss again. thank you! Smiley recommend any kernels for 280x?

http://bal3wolf.centelia.net/MINING/lantis_bins.zip

the lantis bins for 7970s should work the one for 8192 works best for me just rename the lantis bin for 8192 to match whatever file name you have when you set thread to 8192 and use int 13 with look up gap 2

just an FYI if you have low hash rate (i do) then stay away from this pool and middlecoin not worth your time.. That is all..

20 mins to get 1 accept share @ 100 kh/s and over 30 rejects = not good Sad

FYI, if you have no idea how difficulty and mining works, stay away from all pools... That is all...
