Hi,

does anybody know how the automatic ticket purchase is working? Is there any tutorial available?

Do I pay for every automatic voted ticket or is it only a one-time-only fee?

Is it ok to upgrade if you have tickets staking in the wallet?

There is no problem if you update the wallet while staking. I did it already.

Yes, it's ok.
As far as I know upgrade will not caused any influence on your staking tickets.

So if I have a Decred wallet (windows) I have to update to the new version?

Yes, this release of Paymetheus is likely to be the last, or one of the last, Paymetheus releases. Efforts are being unified into development of the cross-platform GUI, Decrediton. Once that's ready, Paymetheus users can import their seed into Decrediton. A lot of developers have joined Decred and are actively contributing to Decrediton - it's being enhanced at a rapid pace.

In the meantime, this release of Paymetheus contains the updates for voting on DCP0002 and DCP0003 (Decred Change Proposals) and is intended as an interim release to smooth the migration process. Docs for DCP0003 will be here soon™.

Will there be a step by step guide for this? I dont really know how to upgrade and I dont want to mess up. Also, if you had two tickets and one voted this wont be effected by moving to a new wallet?

Thanks in advance for the help, I am truly a wallet noob  Cheesy

Is there a site that tracks the ROI of staking Decred vs Peercoin vs Dash, etc.?

Seems like an opportunity to offer shorter-term CFD or bond exposure to the rates for a tiny management fee.

Or a mutually beneficial hedging arrangement.  EG, 11 people split 110% the cost of a DCR ticket or Masternode or whatever.  10% is kept in reserve so any one of the 11 may reclaim their stake at any time at the cost of forfeiting their share of the stake mined coins.  The rest enjoy 90% or 100% of regular rates plus the benefit of the early withdrawal option.  And the extra 10% could be entered into a separate scheme of the same design.

Given working markets of ~friction-free atomic swaps and smart contracts for difference, arbitrage between staked coins should drive the ROI similar levels.

DCR is a joke ~ there is no community only sockpuppets of devs ... the air drop was fraudulent. I hope they catch the bad actors here :\

Thanks in part to the preponderance of old-school Bitcoiners involved, DCR already enjoys one of the top 10 most vibrant and productive altcoin communities even at this early stage of development.

Of course such success carries the price of being trolled by quivering piles of salty jelly (bless your heart).  Wink

Ideally, what should be the lowest amount of Decred for solo PoS? Sorry for the noob question. Cheers.

There isn't really a minimum amount.... But if you are doing it for financial profit, the ticket extra reward would need to cover your VPS rental expenses.

You would need at least enough DCR for 1 ticket which is about £2000.
Reward is 1.4 DCR average within a month which is about £40
5% fee mean you would pay £2 for the pool operator after every ticket.

Staking on a 2GB memory VPS is plenty, it would cost £3 a month. You would need 2 of them for redundancy. It would cost £6 and a few hours to set them up.

Therefore if you stake with only 3 tickets, your pool expenses very similar as the VPS cost... If you stake with more than 3 tickets, you are financially better off by solo staking with 2 VPSs.

Many thanks for all these information. No problem, I have to go for pool PoS then Cheesy

Upgrade is 100% mandatory? I would prefer not to if I dont have to, as I suck at installing new wallets  Grin

Yes, it is. v1.1.0 "Thunderstruck" is the preamble to Lightning Network and involves a new vote agenda. Earlier versions risk being forked off the network if the vote passes once the new opcode is used. The hope is to start voting by October 1st.

Will we need to do a clean install? Blockchain from scratch and all?

No reseeding of your wallet is required, and you certainly don't need to download the blockchain again if you already have it. Just download, install, and you're good to go!

Nice news! When voting will begin? Was the date announced and I have just missed this info?

Enough people need to update first. Once that happens, the voting will start.
