with so many sites to sell bitcoin machines.
which reliable?
This should be a new topic, rather than posted as a reply to 3 threads (so far). There were two existing threads along this sort of line before (
CoinCanary's old thread and
xstr8guy's The Scam List thread that picked up from there but has since been abandoned as well (pointing to
Dogie's Mfr. Trustworthiness thread instead - also see
Bicknellski's miner sellers thread). Plus there's BitcoinScammers(.com) but that hasn't seen any updates in a while either.
That said, a lot of information is on the forums already and can easily be found.
These three make their own chip, their own miners, and sell primarily - if not exclusively - from stock:
- bitmaintech.com
- iasicminer.com / asicminer-shop.de - german reseller, trusted member
- spondoolies-tech.com
If you're in a position to buy from them direct, and there's no compelling reason to buy from a (local) reseller otherwise (discount, faster shipping, support in your own language, desire to support the local economy), these are certainly your best bet in terms of legitimacy.
I'll add to that list: canaan-creative.com / ehash.com (Avalon miners) and gridseed.com (Gridseed miners, though they're mostly focused on Scrypt now). There's a few other big ones - BitFury, Black Arrow, CoinTerra, HashFast, KnC - but they're all in various states of only selling chips/hardware to large farms, out-of-stock/future, Chapter 7 bankruptcy, Chapter 11 bankruptcy, and being sued left right and center respectively.
In between the above and the below, for IP claims reasons:
- bitmine.ch - Coincraft A1 chip aka Innosilicon A1 Booster chip
These make their own miners (but not their own chips) and should be fine:
- technobit.eu - all sorts of chips. caveat emptor: there are some complaints against them, mostly on delays, communication
- visionman.com - canaan creative/avalon chips. they don't seem to have strong sales
- xbtec.io - asicminer chips. caveat emptor: their communication is lacking
These are just resellers of existing off-the-shelf miners and should be okay:
- antminerdistribution.com
- holybitcoin.com
- protact.net - you can check their ebay store's feedback or if you can read german, there's tons of threads from/on them in the German section
These I wouldn't bother with until they clean up their act (reasons given):
- gawminers.com - They used to be okay, but then Hashlets and a sh*tstorm happened. I guess they're liquidating some assets now, but do you really want to part with money by going there? I mean, really?
- hashcoins.com - they're only selling Scrypt miners. Their Uranus product is still vaporware pre-order.
- hashra.com - same as the above - the Moonraker line is still vaporware
These are unknowns (i.e. there's just no good information on them either way):
These have lots of signs of being scammy and includes the three from threads you posted this in:
I have to say that your selection is rather haphazard.. it's not an exhaustive list ( thank goodness, or it would be much longer
), nor is it a list of companies that have particularly recent activity aside from the well-knowns, and the resellers are from all over the place.. Germany vs USA vs China; You'd only look at a German reseller if you happen to live in Germany or at least Europe, and having a heavy miner shipped from the USA to Australia is probably not a good idea either.
If somebody were to make a new thread, or a new site (ideally), or felt like making a wiki entry (slightly less ideal), it should certainly be more expansive than this. I, for one, am not volunteering ( did you see what happened to philipma? eesh. this community is harsh, man!
) , and suggest Dogie
and Bicknellski's threads for the time being instead.
Big ol' disclaimer:
The above is as I understand to be the current status and this can be an incorrect interpretation now, and is almost certain to be incorrect in the future.
Do your own due diligence.
