OK so a few questions about staking...
My wallet says I can earn a reward in 47 days. Does that mean i have to wait that long? Like with my wallet open and running?
My weight at this time  is only 100 of 6.3M. Am I wasting my time at these amounts?
Is my wallet still staking when my screen saver kicks on or screen goes to sleep from being idle?

You have to little coin to even bother staking. Unless you have 10000 coins are over your wasting your time and electricity

Agreed, for that small a position the cost in electricity usage is likely higher than the income generated. Bigger size may be warranted if your conviction level merits doing so.

Just to add color, my position is 1500+ coins and I am earning a few stakes a week. Now to be fair, this is a small income but it makes sense economically if you are staking multiple coins on the same PC. The staking rate for XSPEC is higher than the 5% that was claimed on the ANN discussion since some people don't stake 24/7 and some coins live on exchanges, etc. I am pleased with the coin and feel it is a total return opportunity and will hold the shares along with Monero, Deep Onion and Zencash. Privacy coins should have a bright future as governments escalate the war on cash.

@cryptohunter

I posted my public address for everyone to see and also said how much I bought at which price. I have nothing to hide and am completely transparent about who I am. It's really important to me that both yourself and the rest of the community do not believe this is a scam and just an ICO that no one really gave a chance. So if you need any further information you can see this 'fools' face anytime you wish. Until then, Spectrecoin is moving on with or without you.

IMO you have a completely false understanding of privacy. The "nothing to hide" argument has been the top argument for surveillance for ages, because it implies that everyone who is left not giving up their privacy does have something to hide, thus making the use of a human right look suspicious. For this reason, it is super important to not give away your privacy in order to not make it look suspicious if someone else does. That's one of the main reasons we need anonymous currencies to begin with, so I have no idea what you are doing here?  Huh

So XSPEC is like Monero + POS + TOR? Is this correct or I did not understand it very well? If that is the case then this is a really unique coin.

Not quite. Wink At the moment, Monero is "more" than Spectre technology-wise. Its anonymity features are more mature. You can find a comparison with Monero here: http://coinwiki.info/en/SpectreCoin#Monero

After reading through this thread again, I am excited about the prospects here.  I think I'll do a top up of my stash of XSPEC   Grin

Are there plans to market this coin at some point?  I see that the Twitter is utilized, but maybe the right people are still unaware of the development here.  Anyways, keep going team!

Really? How can they expect the mobile staking to work then? People are not going to store 1000s of dollars on a mobile device that could easily be lost or stolen. At least if they have any sense.
Even the desktop staking doesn't feel to secure. I have to manually encrypt my wallet, I wasn't prompted to or anything. Then leave it open and running? Obviously the user is incharge of their security but still, it not very newb friendly.
I'm not concerned about my electric cost, I get all I can pull for a flat rate. But thanks good to know for future reference.
I also wonder where the rest of the coins are. 7M in staking, maybe 1M on all exchanges. Still leaves half the supply just sitting out there.

Hasn't this coin been around for much longer and is this a new thread? Or am I confusing it with something else?

Yes, I explained it on the first page and also gave a link to the previous thread.

"transact without supervision by big brother"
This is also illegal, incase you didn't know.

I agree with you. Just because something is illegal it doesn't mean that it's wrong. Bypassing the Chinese firewall is illegal in China. Their laws are not less valid than ours. If Spectre is going to be used on darknet sites, that's a good thing IMO. Darknet sites themselves are not illegal, and they shouldn't be. You can use any currency to do illegal things, but that's not our responsibility then.
