Mining also seems to be down apart from the site

Hmm looks like the pools are more upset than they're supposed to be..  DB tables are loading, it'll be soon now.

Yeah I was going to do this anyway.  LKY is removed from the Multiport until Cryptsy resolves its market issues.

Dear Multipool Miners,
I have sent an open letter to flound the operator of the multipool.

Dear flound1129,
With this kind of trading on Cryptsy where orders are crossed for hours from 1 Satoshi and levels that force the multipool to push the coin to insane difficulty levels, I formally request the Luckycoin to be removed from the multipool.  Please comment in the community forum. luckycoinfoundation.org

Huh, "...from 1 Satoshi and levels..."  Huh  No idea what this means. Is a "Satoshi" a unit of measure?

So it sounds like LKY is just too wimpy for mining. Is it just a hobby shop project?

I'm in favor of eliminating LKY permanently and not just until Vern says Cryspy is ready to try again.

Of course, satoshis are the smallest bitcoin unit 0.00000001 BTC, for example LKY trades for 2900 satoshis per piece right now, or 0.00002900 ;-)

LKY is not trading at all. The market at Cryptsy is broken and you can't trade. Even worse, if you put an order you can't cancel afterwards. Those prices are meaningless.

Request: can you add support for mining UnitedScryptCoin? This coin can be merge mined together with any coin similar enough to LTC.
Very interesting and nifty to see something new like this in the scryptworld!

Request: can you add support for mining UnitedScryptCoin? This coin can be merge mined together with any coin similar enough to LTC.

Highlevel overview of merged mining (explanation for 1 child chain, with more it becomes more complex):
  • request work from USC with getauxblock
  • put hash of block in coinbase script of parent blockchain (preceded by merged mining header)
  • solve block of parent chain of difficulty in getauxblock
  • provide auxpow (auxiliary proof of work) to USC with the following info
    • block header of parent chain
    • coinbase transaction of parent chain (this contains the hash of the USC block)
    • MerkleBranch linking parent coinbase to parent block
  • you have mined a block of USC based on a solution to a block of the other blockchain!

For a detailed description, see for example the sourcecode of p2pool.

I'm glad you flound the solution  Grin

How's it going with ANC and TAG?

Is TAG still forked?

BitBar is another I'd recommend.

I am mining sha-256 and it seems like it will mine any currency but BTC.  When it switches to BTC, it will stop mining.  Does anyone know why this is happening?

If you're mining through slush's stratum proxy (e.g. with ASICMiner blades or cubes), there's a known problem with p2pool (and this gets passed through Multipool) - it won't work with that proxy.  Some have suggested that it's best to run with the bfgminer proxy, but I'm not sure if that gets around the p2pool problem since I can't run it more than 6-8 minutes before it declares the devices SICK and restarts them, killing my hashrate.  This latter is a known problem with certain devices, wireless, and QoS - it's a tough nut to crack, and I haven't had time to troubleshoot.

I'm using bfgminer v3.4.0 with two ASIC USB miners and it does the same thing.

I updated to bfgminer 3.8.0 and it showed that there was active work (on multipool site), but then stopped again.

Interesting.  I have several USB ASICMiners and a couple of USB Red Furys - neither have that stopping problem with any 3.x versions of BFGminer.  I'm on 64-bit linux.  But I used the USB miners via stratum directly and not through the bfgminer proxy.

Any chance on adding Goldcoin or Galaxycoin? They've been quite quite profitable on and off the past few days.

Just added a new custom diff scheme for BTC P2pool.  Hopefully this should help with the astronomically high difficulties people have been seeing.  Details in latest news update.

I think I've nailed the issue on the disconnects..  It seems that in my infinite floundery wisdom, I mistakenly enabled difficulty below 16 across all the scrypt pools.  We were getting flooded with difficulty 1 shares.  I've fixed this issue and the pools should be a bit more stable now, especially in EU.

It has become quite an annoyance to mine coins such as Lucky on this pool. Not so much because they hold little value but because Cryptsy is messed up. You can't even sell them fast enough. I've been sitting here clicking on a million sell orders cancelling and trying to sell while the price crashes, and of course autosell doesn't work either. Will switch away from the pool for a while until it makes sense again.

+1 on this.    I'd really like a feature to disable a coin such as LKY.   Temporarily pool hopping until the multiport moves away from LKY.

Use the ports to mine LTC or whatever you prefer.   WDC is getting pumped ready for a direct to dollars website being launched or thats the theory

Due to the potential delays in nameserver and DNS propagation, you may still be going to an imposter bitcointalk.org! Check the SHA1 fingerprint of the SSL certificate against the good key (29:0E:CC:82:2B:3C:CE:0A:73:94:35:A0:26:15:EC:D3:EB:1F:46:6B) before entering in your login information on the Bitcointalk forums!

Bitcointalk.org was recently hacked and users logging in to the website between December 1 at 06:00 UTC and 20:00 UTC may have had their username and password captured in the clear by a man in the middle attack.
Thanks for the Tag shares, I'll up my donation to equal my old guild pps fee for the rest of the month, a hefty +6%

Cryptsy is getting the old business from msxnow I think, they are possibly taking on too much

Cryspy has been having so many problems since they switched over their system without seeming to have tested it. I don't think they were even close to going live.

I think I was placing sell orders for LKY last night and watched the Lucky Cryspy fiasco begin. There was a large buy order that was being filled slowly and trading bots and/or autosell bots started placing sell orders above the big, but smaller than the large buy order. I would think the logical thing to do would be to start filling the highest ask first but no, Cryspy continued chipping away at the older order it had been working on in First Placed First Filled (FPFF) fashion. Suddenly a split the difference bot placed a sell midway between the newest highest ask and the big order bid. Then another, then a stream of one-tick higher orders came in until the ask rapidly went to 0.00000001.

That's why I do NOT trust AutoSell or any trading bot.

CoinEx is a smaller alternative to sell your alts.

yesterday, after the website issues, i had a "temporary ban" when trying to connect stratum_mining_proxy to port 7777.  today, i am fine -- is this feature always active and how do i avoid it?
