'The right to privacy matters'
I will reveal how to run the s-7 quietly for free.

You need 2 quiet atx psus like the evga 1000 plat

First down clock the freq from 700 to 500
Next set the fan to 30 %

Cost is zero

Listen to it and decide if you can deal with the sound it makes.

It may be too loud if it is buy a flex duct from Home Depot get the 14 inch one place the entire miner in it about two feet cut a hole in the flex duct to allow the wires from the psu into it.

The exhaust end can be pointed out the window to cool.
The flex duct at Home Depot is pretty cheap 60 bucks for a twenty five foot piece

Nothing official, but bitmain said it's very loud. My guess is that they are somewhere between 75-80 dB minimum.

Thanks, just weighing up options ... the SP20s I have are so configurable in terms of energy use and sound, but the S7 sure beats the power usage per GH ratio hands down. Might wait until S7s are out in the wild and people report back.

So all you did is put it in a box?

no exactly, you get full details and list easy and simple, I keep it next to my bed now
btw its not just the box
ps: I payed $1500 for my s7 miner I think $2 to know how to keep it quite is easy, with someone had this solution earlier ay

In terms of S7 noise, consider the following:

It's roughly the same size and shape of the S5, with what appear to be metal sides. There are three hashing board squeezed in there, and the total power consumption is about 1200W (i.e. twice what the S5 had). Unless you think there is some magic from Bitmain, or somebody else, you should expect it to always be loud unless you are willing to forgo some hashrate and lower the power. I don't think you should hope for some "quieter fan" solution to magically appear.

It looks to me like it's most decidedly "NOT a home miner" if that is underlying your question.

for quiet mining there is some hope but they all involve  case rebuilds/mods .

two blades = 800 watts and maybe a fan mod  gets you quiet.  of course you lose ⅓ the hash.

frankly I will need to find a sound solution for mine that I like.

one is long cables to the controller and open the case into 3 pieces .

others are box fans.

I have 1 more idea 2 of these

only if we make watercooled verision we could run it in / near are homes

You should see the option to apply it in the checkout.

So I have a question about using a coupon. I have one listed on my account, but it is not clear how to apply it to my order. There is no place to enter that I wish to use a coupon. Is this automatically applied at checkout or what?

Thanks!

Evil beware: We have waffles!
Looks only like a very poor photographer's job! crap lighting....
My initial thought as well but looked so questionable I *did* save the pic to look more closely at. Save the pic and zoom in to the 3 o'clock position where the clean area ends. There are literally clods of dust growing in the heatsinks. This better be an April Fools stunt....

About these coupons, can they be used with hashnest or only for physically purchasing a miner?

I think the $115 coupons can only be used on HashNest but the $100 coupons can be used on the regular site. Maybe someone can confirm?

That area in the middle gets no airflow.

I guess that's where the fan motor is.
