If they are skilled, it is because they learned it to the point of mastering it well. If it is luck, we can only wait for it to come, and it will not come to everyone. Only certain people can get their luck. Successful gamblers may own their casinos, but they hide their identity as casino owners and enjoy their lives peacefully. There is no point in showing off their success because that will only make them enemies.

And it is true that behind success, there are sad stories experienced by each successful person. And if they can learn from the mistakes he made along his journey to success, he will be a successful person. Successful gamblers also learn from their mistakes to become successful gamblers.

It is always luck, and the odds are against the gambler.

In the rare situation that a gambler ends up winning a large amount, the casino will be quick to give them food and drinks for free so that they stay for as long as possible.

Perhaps more skilled gamblers have made it big. Remember, skill and chance must be distinguished. Some say they're skilled, but it's often luck.

Let's discuss the pseudo-problem. Why are these successful gamblers hiding if they own casinos and make large profits? Why not brag about their success? Why gamble if they're skilled? They'd keep benefitting from others.

Everyone should remember that for every gambling success story, there are innumerable losses, addictions, and sorrow. Gamble responsibly and realize that it's more amusement than a surefire road to money.

Yes, it's true, only a small percentage of gamblers experience success, maybe when they get lucky or win they realize it and can control themselves when they want to gamble again.
Sure that's correct in as much as gambling is concerned there are people who has made a fortune while there are also people who has gambled all there life but nothing to show for it, we no that most persons irrespective of how much money they have won they will still go back for more gambling as such losing all the winnings they made, but perhaps on the contrary there people whom are very experienced and has a sound mentality on gambling were as there targets is just to win and be saving up, these kind of gambling patterns tends to achieve greater things through gambling because I have actually witnessed it myself, I have seen someone that has a lot of properties through the gambling wining he made so that's the reason I said there people who has made money from gambling while there are numerous people who has lost so many things through gambling.
As you said, I have also seen people who gamble, they earn a lot of money and they can also buy whatever they want, and I assume that they gamble responsibly and can control themselves in carrying out their gambling, so they have little money. risk of consequences. That's gambling, even though what I see is that people who gamble fall into poverty and get a lot of debt here and there, because I think they gamble too much, and maybe they get addicted to gambling, so they get big problems in their lives. life. And we can use this as an experience and lesson that every person who is going to gamble must be able to control themselves, a good mentality and good thinking will keep them away from the risks posed by the gambling they do.

Just as the tittle already ask, I really want to know if people who are successful in gambling also seen as addicts because I believe  for one to be successful in gambling or whatever they choose to do, there must be some good amount  of time and effort invested in it as well as money and we know that a successful  gambler must have invested  both time, effort and even money to make any reasonable  winning  and these also are features of an addict as there are always excessive time spent on a betting site.

Now let's be sincere, will you also classify a successful gambler as an addict?
For me, I will say that there is a very big difference between an addict and a successful gambler, because just as an addict gambles out of self-control & emotions, a successful gambler on the other hand gamble strictly for business, and as such always try to limit how much lost he gets while increase the profit ratio with time, unlike an addictive gambler who never cares about anything regarding his/her gambling lifestyle, and as such don't mind borrowing & spending more money just to satisfy his craving for gambling at that very moments.

Yes, in my opinion, if someone can be successful from gambling, most likely he is an addict, because he thinks gambling can make him money

I don't think so. I would say gambling is totally based on luck. Of course you need some skill, but in the end it is impossible to win at gambling without luck.

Winning at gambling does not prove that a person is addicted to it. But if a person is successful in gambling and considers it as a profession then he is addicted. Gambling cannot be a profession. I know many people who have made a lot of money from gambling. But it is not their profession. They gamble for entertainment. But they are rich, so they can take big risks and in the end they are lucky so they can make a lot of money. Just because they win a lot of money, I can't say that they are addicted to it.

We are more accustomed to seeing addicts as losers with a messed up life already though. This is because most addicts are out of control and if you are winning, dressed neatly, and dining in fine restaurants, means you are in control and have a life to live.

Those people with a gambling addiction who continue to win and have a good life with their families must be the luckiest gamblers in the world for if they only knew how the gamblers who lost millions look like when they are already homeless, they best stop already before it happens on them.
It's one thing to be gambling addict and absolutely a different thing to be successful in gambling but many people do say that for you to be successful in gambling, you must be a gambling addict.
For one to be successful in gambling, he needs to be strategic and mindful in his gamble dealings and also needs a bit of luck whenever he's gambling while an addict is someone who's been desperate to win in gambling which most times makes them to lose their all their money in gambling and sometimes even sells every valuable they have to gamble

The answer might be nuanced. Success in gambling doesn’t necessarily qualify someone as being an addict. Gambling addiction is characterized by a number of signs and symptoms, including but not limited to, a preoccupation with gambling, increasing amounts bet (needing to gamble with more money to get the same level of excitement), and inability to stop or reduce gambling, even in the face of negative consequences.

A gambler can be strategic, have a sharp understanding of the game and luck, and be able to win consistently without being addicted. If this person has a disciplined approach, employs a solid strategy, manages their bankroll effectively, and does not show behavioural signs of addiction, they are not necessarily a problematic gambler
Yep, you are very correct,  a gambler can be strategic and smart enough to be able to avoid all the lip holes that could drag him down into the mud of addictions, those set of gamblers,  already have their laydown plans before they embark on any of such movement and will never go against their predetermined plans in other to remain focus on the games and avoiding any form of distractions that could lead to addictions.

Doing that repeatedly is what makes them to become successful gamblers in the long run,  gambling shouldn't be taken as a passive means of earning but rather as a fun fair so there is no need to be professional innit all that is needed is just a basic guideline and skills,  then pray that your luck hit each or most times.

I wish I could have posted this in a more better place but since the thoughts came from gambling addiction, I thought it wise to ask this question over here and I hope we can discuss and get this straight.

It is very likely that someone who is successful in gambling will of course focus on his stance and have a strong optimism in order to be able to earn income from gambling, or you could say that gambling is done as a source of income.  This can be said if a person can be successful from gambling, of course the gambling he does is a profession that he pursues, either by investing in it or developing it in other ways that can make money from gambling itself.

This is a technical question but if we are to go with what the addiction means you see it is what you like doing. So about gambling, addiction is seen in a negative way like it is assumed it has negative effect on people who gamble because they are found always in losses. Those are termed as addicts is because they are losing in their games and won't give up, so they repeatedly play but whether a successful gambler would still be called an addict, I think it will be relative. Some may follow from the meaning of the word to say they are also addicts while you could still see some that will disagree since he is successful relating to gambling.

well, with all the things we talk about here we have to think about the main discussion, namely what is meant by a successful gambler. TBH, I am a little confused because there are several assessments for successful gamblers, namely successful gamblers building their own casinos or successful gamblers with certain strategies to make a profit from sports betting? whereas we all know the history of gamblers who always lose, even if they use any strategy, they still lose.
in this scenario it seems that what is meant by successful gamblers are gamblers who have a lot of experience and have their own casino and that cannot be said to be addicted because they think about the money they always use to bet but always lose and decide to build their own casino to get definite profits.

for me, who considers a gambler successful just because he has had a big win is just luck and in the long run I am sure he will lose all his money.
There are successful gamblers among the losing gamblers who have better skills and experience than other gamblers. Maybe they won't show themselves off as successful gamblers because they're afraid that people won't like them. So we don't know what a successful gambler is like. However, successful gamblers are not addicted to gambling because they can avoid gambling addiction. Successful gamblers have their own casinos and can make huge profits from the losing gamblers.

A successful gambler can win big, and that is because of his luck. Other people will not be able to win big wins like those successful gamblers because they do not have the same skills and experience.

I can't say it's right or wrong, so if people are successful in other fields, are they also addicted to what they do?
So my answer is that time and other things must be dedicated for you to understand something or to become an expert in it.

well, successful players will always have plans to play a good game, a good successful player knows that he cannot apply the same strategies every day in the game, that he has to have many different things to do, so that he can have the option of winning, That's obvious, but how do they do it? Maybe experience gives you a little more knowledge to be able to win, so when we make an outline of the things we can achieve, many things can be achieved, because a successful player not only keeps what he knows, the successful player investigates. and takes into consideration other ways of playing and other ways in which others see the game, they are not only left with a total vision of the game, in this case we can define what we do, for it to be successful it does not mean playing a lot, but knowing how to play, I can be in the casino all day, but I can play for 5 minutes and no more, because I am observing ways of playing to know how to win, and that in itself is some wisdom.

I also think that professional gamblers have different techniques and thoughts compared to gamblers in general and that is what makes them more successful in their gambling activities. These professionals consider that gambling is not just entertainment, but rather a profession that requires skills and experience to be able to master the game and achieve victory. They really calculate the steps before taking action in the game and in-depth analysis for the risks of their steps and that is what sets them apart. and that's what gamblers in general don't have.
Since we are talking about professional gamblers, gambling and profession are complementary to each other. When the profession is gambling, we cannot imagine it differently. Gambler will support gambling from all the aspects. They are different from general gamblers. They will be in the game at all times by their judgment analysis. They cannot be called addicts. Because they know how to make money from it. But the situation will not be the same for a average gamblers. The average gambler cannot contain his emotions. Due to their few losses, they will become very worried about gambling. A professional gambler does not care too much about whether the outcome of gambling is good or bad but instead focuses more on how to better evaluate and place bets.

Knowing and playing the game wisely is crucial. Here's something. Someone who regards gambling like an ATM is setting themselves up for a fall. You know what's fun? Playing it like a game. Have you ever played for fun without expectations? The sweet place. Think about it. Playing a friendly game with friends isn't always about winning big. You're there for fun, company, and thrills. The same with gambling. For fun, you're winning. If everyone treats gambling as a game rather than a money-making machine, won't we hear less humorous stories of over-the-top gambles? A thought! Fun and games till someone goes broke. Play safe.
It is surprising how many gamblers decide to willingly ignore that fact since it is obvious they are aware of it, some of the best sessions people will experiment are those in which they were with their friends and they were not really thinking about winning and they simply were having fun.

But when gamblers are alone they forget about this and instead they try to obtain profits at all costs, and this is something that will only happen once in a while.

Most of the time, the gamblers will think that they are playing for fun. They may present themselves in front of thier friends and families that they gamble for entertainment, but actually they do it for money.

This behaviour from gambling addicts is seen because the gamblers want other people to realise that they are not seriously involved in gambling, so their near and dear ones do not take action to restrict the gambling access to them.

You're both right. Reaching that point requires time, which not everyone can do. And only people who want to achieve everything are willing to do it, and even though it is hard for them, they still decide. They know that a person can realize what is good for him and what is not for him so that he can adjust everything well. And that is what successful gamblers have achieved who will not become addicted to gambling even though they often gamble in many casinos. He can still care for himself well and will not gamble excessively because he may already have been in that condition. He was still sober and knew what to do, and if it were time to stop gambling, he would immediately stop gambling and leave the casino.
