This is true addiction, and I'm one amongst. I've lost big and I've made promises several times, but I wasn't able to keep my promises. I'm filled with guilty feeling, because the person to whom I've promised believed in me and stands in all down moments without making any question. Atleast for that reason I should change my gambling activities, and I've decided to spend a small amount every month. This I'll spend on a particular day and never gets back to the platform for that month.

when a person promises not to play on certain days and then keeps breaking the promise and keeps playing then that person is going through a serious psychological problem, which is called gambling addiction, that person is dependent on gambling and after breaking what he promised, that person starts to have regrets, this is the serious stage of the addiction, in my case, when I say that I won't play for months I don't play, I only place bets on certain days like weekends in two games or in rare cases more than 2 games because I place in a multibet bet

I also always give bets breaks, something like I go 1 or 2 or 3 months without making sports bets, I also adopt the system of only placing bets on weekends and in a few games, I do this to have self-control because gambling it is something that easily makes people addicted, and when a person is addicted and does not recognize early on that he is sick and needs help, that person will only get help when he is already at the bottom and with little chance of healing. that's why I advise people to stick to planned dates so they don't play, and it's important to have self-control so they don't get addicted

Until you are ready and have made up your mind to let go of something, it will be very difficult to do so, and you will just find yourself going back to it the moment you have recovered from the pains of the previous loss encountered. There are ways to force yourself to become disciplined, one of which is to prevent yourself from coming into contact with things that will make you gamble.

For instance, I became fond of always watching TV every day. I tried all my best to stop, but as long as there is a steady power supply, I always forget myself, turn on the TV, and start watching. Even before I remembered, I made a promise not to watch again. So, what did I do? I refused to recharge my prepaid meter for the power supply, for like a week and there was no power supply at my apartment. After that one week, I recharged and realized that the temptation to still watch TV was not that great, so that's it. If you want to stop something, look for any means that will not give you the privilege to do so.

Last but not least, in gambling, I haven't had such an experience like yours, but for a few other things, I have.

I did it many times back when my addiction is very high, I promise not to gamble after I lose a big amount I even swear that I will not, but the following day I'm back even promising to be better and not lose a big amount again.

How many of us are guilty of this?

Guilt is a gift from God reminding you that you're doing something that is violating your true self. I would suggest forgiving yourself and stopping self-sabotage. Have the self-respect to commit to the promises that you tell to yourself. Build it from the ground up. You will then realize that you are not only improving your gambling practices but also your whole life. Discipline is the key. And if you want better result, applied disciplined in gambling is the holy grail.

Ah, the classic "I promise to quit, pinky swear, cross my heart and hope to never lose big again" routine. Been there, done that, my friend. I'm also member of the "Guilty Club". We beat ourselves up, swear off gambling, and then find ourselves right back in the ring, ready for another round. I've done it more times than I'd like to admit.

But I wouldn't call it a path to addiction... well, not entirely. It's more like a passionate fling, a rollercoaster romance with Lady Luck. After all, life is too short to deprive ourselves of a little excitement and adventure, as long as we're mindful of the boundaries.

Not really, I've hit a few walls in the past when it comes to things like Poker where it's been a steady grind up to accumulate a few wins. Then seem to reach a point where I get tired, playing too long and slowly slide into a tilt mode. At that point I end up losing a bunch of buy-ins and might burn out. Then inevitably start to feel like the game is a bit rigged (it's highly likely not to be, the platform gets paid either way) and decide to leave the game for a long time. Usually try to play poker for a while each year, end up staying a few days, realize that you're playing for tiny amounts and it's not worth it against the seasoned veterans who pick up on your leaks. Then walk away.

In the past, when I was still gambling, I had feelings of guilt and promised not to gamble on certain days, but it turned out that I was back to gambling again the next day or the day after. And yes, I did break it myself and somehow, after playing it again, I don't feel guilty.

But losing after losing made me think that this had to stop before I lost more and more. So I started working on limiting my gambling and reducing it. At first, it looked difficult but luckily, I had a distraction so my mind wasn't on gambling and it has worked till now.

Same here, and the worst thing is that we have to look for source of the money that we have to play, maybe we need to loan or pawn something in order to continue to play.

And it's really hard to control that emotions though, I mean we have regrets when we get out of a landbase casinos or exited from online gambling platform and think that it's over for us as we lost big amount of money. But the next morning, we have to find a way to have the money again to continue to gamble despite what happen to us the night before. And I guess this will continue until you admit to yourself that gambling is really that bad and that you have to stop the madness of losing money.

If we often play gambling with large amounts it will be very difficult to stop let alone promise not to do it again I think this will be nonsense because the next day you will definitely do the same thing even if you bet a small amount but we cannot avoid stopping especially who have become addicted will be very difficult to do so unless you are determined to stop.
But as long as you have very good discipline then it won't be big or questionable whatever you play with that discipline it will be quite satisfying for you even though I know very well that regret will definitely exist if you have lost gambling.

Not only with small amount but also with small amount of money you can still experience it especially if you used to gamble everyday and just suddenly stop because of some unwanted reasons. For sure you will be lured back to play the game if you see your friends enjoying or whenever you see someone hit a good amount of money when you start to browse on the thread of your favorite casino. Its hard to avoid this if we are not eager to forget about playing since it need strong guts before we can totally forget gambling and resist the temptation to play.

I'm one of those, so I voted Yes. I guess the majority of us here at some point in their gambling addiction is very guilty of this. Specially when we came from a big lost and said to ourselves that this is the last one, maybe we tell it to our wife or to ourselves.

But then again, when we wake up, it's one of those who keep in our mind. We have to get our revenge and so the promise of not going back to gambling is gone. Now what we feel is that itch to come back again and think that we will get back and win big.

That's just human nature for you; after a loss, you might make promises that you won't keep. For example, after promising yourself that you wouldn't gamble the following day when you start seeing a game with great odds, you'll undoubtedly try to boost your confidence and realize that there's a chance to win big. Sometimes, all it takes is taking a chance to become wealthy other times, you might just get lucky. I know a few people who make big money from gambling, but gambling addiction is risky. knowing people who make money from it I also know people have lost everything:Smiley

Even though I only play for fun, I can relate because I enjoy getting codes from various prediction sites. However, I have stopped trusting them because I almost always lose when I do so. Instead, I make my own predictions and accept responsibility when I lose. It will be harder to predict games now that the champions league and premier league are coming to an end.

I have had that urge to return back to gamble on days I promised myself I won't gamble but how I managed to overcome that urge and desire is what I can't really explain, sometimes the urge gets so strong that I will want to leave for the gambling house but end up not going, all this happened when I was not having a mobile device and I guess that was my only saving grace back then, If I had a device on me maybe I won't know when I will gamble on any site of my choice that was how I escaped not going back when I promised myself I wasn't going to gamble.
That is the problem now that everyone can gamble anywhere and anytime with their mobile browser. That's why you are lucky you don't have a cellphone, let alone no internet network. It will be very helpful to avoid gambling and gambling sites, especially to stop gambling and not go to gambling houses. also doesn't matter because of the distance problem that makes you able to stop gambling.

But the gambler's instinct often feels the urge to gamble again when the opportunity arises, for example meeting a gambler friend can also provoke us to have a desire to gamble again, that's why being alone can help to stop gambling and keep promises to ourselves to stop gambling.

Life is always filled with regret and we also promise to do better. I have suffered from an addiction that I never liked and I have always promised never to do it again. I will always do it again because it gives me pleasure that nothing gives me in this whole world. But I have to fight back to stop it. If your gambling life is affecting your finance stop it. I read a post when a gambler said that when he calculated his losses he discovered that it would have built him a house and bought him a tricycle and I was not pleased. Housing is a basic need and I cannot waste funds that would build a house for me. I can even suspend gambling for one or two years to build a house and start a business because it will even make me a rich gambler. If I own a house and have a flourishing business, my gambling budget will increase.

Not guilty of that but I know that many gamblers here and outside are doing the same thing. You promise yourself that after you win, you'll stop.
But what happens, is you keep on gambling for more, and until everything is gone that is when you'll stop. There can be organized gamblers that are not guilty of this as well and follow what they're promising to themselves but some gamblers can't be help when they gamble and promises but then goes back again because of the itch that gambling is attracting them.

I would make another question for this very widely well known topic between gamblers and my question is who has not?We all have done it as we have felt really bad the day in which we have lost a lot of money, not further than this Thursday I lost a lot in Club Tropicana slot machine and promised to not ever touch again slots in my life but here I am having already played again this very Friday  Grin,so it is the rage of the moment that we promise to ourselves that we won't be coming back to gamble and the next day we are already there,it is in our DNA,in our gamblers nature,as they say the vice exits together with the soul, meaning we stop gambling only when we die.

I stick to my schedule when it comes to gambling, and it's something that I built over the years so I kind of stuck to it and it has become a habit that I never try to break no matter how hard the urge can be. I also make sure to not leave anything on my online accounts that I use for funding my exchange accounts and buy some crypto for gambling. It's one way of ensuring that I don't have the money to spend if ever I thought of gambling and it's not yet my intended day of playing at all. Developing small habits like these can help you avoid the urges and just play whenever you are set to play.
And you should really know on when to call it a day or just really that enough. As long you have already spent that gambling budget of yours then it would really be just sensible for you to completely stop and never
play on that day.If you do have the budget for gambling on the next day then just play according into those amounts. As long you arent really that compromising your life savings then it should be fine but on the time
that you are already doing such thing then you are already at great trouble.

Am i guilty with this? Well, into those early days or months of doing gambling then i do really have this kind of behavior on which there are moments on which it do really keeps me on coming back
despite of the losses which i do have. You would really be tending to avoid as much as you could but since you are really that expose into your phone and pc, then its unlikely that you
could completely avoid but rather doing the opposite thing.
Bravo on your organized gameplay, holding the reins on a habit that might buck you off into the wild. You're casting your lot but in a deliberate manner, staying anchored to a budget and confirming your e-wallets aren't ripe for temptation – it's an exhibition of careful thinking. This game plan is worth emulating, especially when we’re courting hobbies with an addictive streak.

But, let me adjust my doubter's lens here. Regardless of how masterful our strategies may seem, gambling can abruptly shift gears from a challenge to a crisis if not navigated aptly. It's not about maintaining balance today, but extending that stability into the future. The slide into havoc, where our roadmaps and safeguards are tossed aside, is often alarmingly swift.

In this digital revolution, where betting and e-entertainment are at our beck and call, identifying the accompanying hazards is crucial. It isn’t merely about knowing when to pull back, but also ensuring we’re armed with the necessary measures and support when push comes to shove. Let's keep our senses sharp, comrades, because the distinction

We are all bound to mistakes because to err is human, sometimes we engaged in saying some words which we know or may not know that making the fulfilment to those spoken words could turn an haculian task for us, some things were easier said than done, we need to always out a caution to our mouth sometimes so that we won't engage in making void promises and later result to being unable to fulfill them, it has happened to me countless times and i believe this a common encounter that many gamblers would have been dealing with same challenge over time, spoken words were easier said than done.

a gambler comes to gambling and loses after that inwardly regrets all the money he has lost and runs out of money but the next day gets money from his job salary after that his mindset changes to gamble for a while with small amounts but finally loses big too after that comes home from gambling with a sense of regret for losing again and promise myself not to repeat but every holding more money definitely mindset changes.

this is a natural situation that is very reasonable and almost all gamblers have experienced this situation.
