I did it many times back when my addiction is very high, I promise not to gamble after I lose a big amount I even swear that I will not, but the following day I'm back even promising to be better and not lose a big amount again.

How many of us are guilty of this?
I also did the same thing when I suffered a big loss but stupidly I continued gambling the next day because I always thought about the money that had been lost in a large enough amount so that the desire to get the money back kept coming to mind which made me feel anxious if I didn't immediately start gambling.
It's like addiction but actually it's not about addiction but because of a great desire to win.
I'm sure many gamblers experience the same thing as this, some gamblers can even get worse.

Once upon a time I stopped gambling for several months but this was because I lost my job and business so I didn't have any money to bet.

Precisely because I am passionate, I don't play games. But I know people for whom games have become the meaning of life; they spend all their earned money on the game, lose, borrow from other people, and go back to play.
I think it's a disease. And as soon as someone has the desire to play no matter what, no money, and there are unpaid debts, you need to ring the bell and look for a specialist so that he can get them out of gambling addiction. It's like a drug addiction that should take quite a long time to heal. But, sadly, people who depend on the game are ready to lose both friends and family for the sake of one goal.

How many of us are guilty of this?

Most gamblers are guilty of this because we can't stay away from gambling and it isn't because that we are addicted but just because we love gambling and some of us depends on the results we get from betting to get income we can use to take care of our needs.

If you're not over gambling and betting beyond your limit, you don't have a problem with gambling immediately after losing but make sure you're not gambling as a way of revenging your lost money because if you're trying to recover, you won't win but lose more.

Revenge betting leads to addiction as you'll get excessively obsessed with gambling just to recover your losses meanwhile that can't never end because losses are regular when betting because you can't be guaranteed of always winning each bet that you place.

I won't be a hypocrite. Guilty as charged!  Grin

It's not like it's just one time, it's a lot of times I have said that to myself. I am not a gambling addict though, I can still rest quietly and have a good night's sleep even if I lost for a day. But there's this thought that I might get lucky the next day so I am definitely going to be back even though I promise I won't.
Take it like a superstitious belief that if I say those words my bad luck will be erased and the next day will be a fresh start. It's not like it was promised to someone else to feel bad, you promised it to yourself and it can always be broken. Gambling is too fun to just leave it and I also made some money out of it that I already enjoyed spending so I may break my own promise anytime.

So far I haven't because all my games really depend on myself, when I want to play and also when I want to stop, never because I promised someone else and when I promised to stop, for whatever reason, so far it can be kept and that's because I never determined to stop completely so just take a break because you really need it when the game activity is enough to interfere with other main activities.
When you feel guilty when you promised to stop but you can't fulfill it, then it could be that the previous game made you decide to stop, which had a pretty bad impact, for example, because you played over the limit or used money that you couldn't afford to lose, so there is an intention to stop but it turns out that you can't, maybe you can ask a friend for help by sharing stories so that he can give the right advice for you.

There are people who aren't guilty of this? Damn, then they haven't gambled long enough imo. I haven't done this recently ofc, but it's an impulse that I think we are far from being able to remove from ourselves. That doesn't mean it's wrong or anything, an impulse of this every once in a while actually enhances the experience. Impulses often happen anyway during cases where a new experience happens, and you enjoy it. Like fully enjoy.

I wouldn't consider it addiction really. If you let yourself be swayed by impulsiveness all the time then yea, it's addiction. If you use it as a factor to enjoy the experience more (and manage it well), then it should be fine. Well easier said than done though tbf.

I guess we all are guilty of this. It has happened to me countless of times. This is quite normal for us gamblers, I would even say. But I'm not referring to those who gamble only once in a blue moon.

I think what will prevent me from not being true to my word is to be really busy about something else. I think I need a good distraction, something that will take my focus away from gambling or betting or even from the sports or sports leagues that I usually bet on. Traveling, hiking, biking, and other hobbies could do that.

Another thing is peer pressure. That's a hard thing to resist. Sometimes I am convinced against my will to gamble because of my friends.

Almost everyone could've got this feeling atleast once. Whether the loss is big or small, when we loss the fund that is more important we used to think not to gamble anymore. For God's sake we won't follow it. Some get into it and loss more the very next day. With some gamblers it'll last for few weeks or months. After that they'll be the same as what they were previously. This is all about the addiction that gives them the hope of making little or big money out of gambling.
We can't quit gambling because of limited concerns, but we can minimize the amount of money we wager. Betting is more about making additional money for ourselves and providing for our wants, considering this source of income is 100% assured. Running and returning to the space, we can only prohibit the engagement in gambling for a short period of time, specifically when we get really bad hits from gambling, but sooner or later, it's like a voice that echoes in the mind, then we realized how much money we would have made if we stuck to the system, and this is what continues to happen and circulate around.

I think, what you feel now is the same as everyone does. This is a gambling management problem where to fix this solution is yourself. I ever sold my laptop just to avoid gambling addiction, but I didn't last long, in the next week, I bought a new laptop and promised not to play gambling, And again, because no determination in myself, I still play gambling, and repeat. I am sure, in the next time, you can control it, it's only a matter of time, You will start to mature and start to be able to control your emotions, or you can make it fast by change your mind from now.

I stick to my schedule when it comes to gambling, and it's something that I built over the years so I kind of stuck to it and it has become a habit that I never try to break no matter how hard the urge can be. I also make sure to not leave anything on my online accounts that I use for funding my exchange accounts and buy some crypto for gambling. It's one way of ensuring that I don't have the money to spend if ever I thought of gambling and it's not yet my intended day of playing at all. Developing small habits like these can help you avoid the urges and just play whenever you are set to play.
And you should really know on when to call it a day or just really that enough. As long you have already spent that gambling budget of yours then it would really be just sensible for you to completely stop and never
play on that day.If you do have the budget for gambling on the next day then just play according into those amounts. As long you arent really that compromising your life savings then it should be fine but on the time
that you are already doing such thing then you are already at great trouble.

Am i guilty with this? Well, into those early days or months of doing gambling then i do really have this kind of behavior on which there are moments on which it do really keeps me on coming back
despite of the losses which i do have. You would really be tending to avoid as much as you could but since you are really that expose into your phone and pc, then its unlikely that you
could completely avoid but rather doing the opposite thing.

How many of us are guilty of this?

Many people, certainly!

But that's just a matter of discipline and unfortunately there's nothing we can do about it, it's something you need to acquire, just like anyone who needs to drop a certain addiction.

However, there are tools that can help you with this.
Considering that all your contributions are made in bitcoin, for example... the blockchain itself has features that allow you to block wallet funds until a certain block is mined. could this help you?

Another, less drastic way would be for you to find something else to do in your free time... hang out with friends, watch a movie, visit your girlfriend/boyfriend, go to the park or to a football game.... whatever something that occupies your free time and keeps you away from the internet exactly when you are more inclined to bet.

Unfortunately it's up to you, but you can also ask a friend/relative to help you.... as long as he's not addicted too Tongue

It's not being guilty but that was a normal thing for gamblers. Even casual gamblers do have a feeling like that.

Indeed this kind of feeling is normal for a gambler.  The difference is that normal gambler can be able to control by stopping his session while an addicted gambler can do anything but abide by the urge to gamble.

I don't see something wrong with that as long as they stay responsible and not shitting with anyone, anything.

It will become wrong if the gambler keep on losing money and still keep on coming back even after he said for himself that he will stop.  Just like the one member here that keep on creating thread about his gambling activity and was so happy about winnings but then got hit by series of losses and become remorseful saying that he will stop gambling but not a week past we find him creating a topic again about his gambling activities.

Taking a break from gambling in the meantime is really an advisable thing to do after a big loss. Somehow, the eagerness there to return right away therefore most gamblers can't find the temptation even just resting for several hours lol.

Again, if these gamblers stay their cool, keep their discipline, and overall, always be responsible despite losing big, they are still on the right track.

I agree, we should put a break and control the urges else we will find ourselves in a dire situation if the uncontrollable urge to gamble take over us.

It is correct and this behavior forms the gambling addiction sooner or later. The more you are in the gambling industry the higher your chances are to be involved in the casino promotions and play more, at the end it leads to gambling addiction. You promise yourself not to gamble after a specific loss set before but you end up losing more deposits the next day, unfortunately. This is very common among gamblers, IMO.

I have never done this, its easy to calculate my losses because I only play with a minimal amount so I  can easily calculate the amount but I never dig to that amount because its part of your daily expenses, what something you consume even for entertainment purposes, you should not consider as a wasted amount.

Guilty as usual, having more spare time can attract you to gamble even if its just a small bets.
This could be an indication of addiction but hopefully its not since its just a small bet most of the time. Gambling is fun and entertaining as well, thanks to online for making this more possible to gamble wherever you are. If you have off in gambling and yet you play, I guess you’re not alone with that, many gamblers have done this already.

In the first years of playing poker, I played 99% cash tables,  1% tournaments, and you didn't have to wait 24 hours it was a hand, always said to me, last hand, I'll close the section, tomorrow is another day, and right at That hand screwed up my hours of play.

Due to that premise of one more poker hand, over time the percentage changed to 99% tournaments, 1% cash games. Smiley

In the sense of traditional games for this type of behavior I recommend first of all to stop playing on the cell phone and play only on the desktop PC, in fact if you have a laptop, eliminate it, only desktop PC that makes you go on a diet of wanting to play when you shouldn't.

At least what you say in this thread, is our experience too. I'm pretty sure, there are many gamblers who have experienced similar experiences to what you are experiencing. even an experience like this, is not something foreign to us gamblers, especially those who tend to play slots. in fact, this condition can be said where you fall into the category of addiction. psychologically, you do not have good control over your desires and are curious just to fulfill your gambling desires, even though you have previously said not to gamble. but in fact, what happened was the opposite. the next day, you will do the same thing again. I mean, gamble back.

The point is, it's in your control. Before you become a compulsive gambler, you must limit every gambling session you engage in. however, it is not easy as we say. in fact, we will be tested during phases like this. nothing is easy, but at least you can start by disciplining yourself and at the same time be accompanied by responsibility.
