I did it many times back when my addiction is very high, I promise not to gamble after I lose a big amount I even swear that I will not, but the following day I'm back even promising to be better and not lose a big amount again.

How many of us are guilty of this?

Funny thing is, even while these things happen to people who aren't yet gambling addicts, many of us have made the decision to never gamble again in our lives after losing some money, and we still do it till today.
The worst part is that when you are already addicted to gambling, even if you lose millions every day, you will still gamble. I believe that this is worse than we that take it normally do because when we don't have any money to gamble, we won't risk it, but for someone who is already addicted, even if there is no money, they will find a way to continue gambling, even if it means taking out a loan.

One thing about being addicted to a particular thing is the serious resistance from a person's body whenever be decides to leave such addiction.
Gambling is absolutely an addiction that many young men and women are getting themselves in to because they think it is one of he easiest ways to make money. It will cost an extraordinary prize for anyone  who's addicted to gambling to finally quit even when he publicly declare not to be involved in it again.
The sad but true part of the story is the addition after the person decides to quit but something holds him back. Gambling has an age limit for a reason and many people don't want to understand why it sounds so awful when the theme is about the consequences of compulsive gambling. Young people should be more careful since when addicting feelings can be strong in brain development. Involving in this emotional condition will lead to bad consequences that can affect life standards badly, IMO.
Reaching the age limit for gambling which is about 18+ is most essential for everyone looking for ways to limit the level pf gambling addiction or it tendency,  because those that are below 18 in age are most of likely to get addicted easily since the lack the mental alertness to handle such thing and can easily get carried away.

So it best to avoid young people from getting involve in gambling and even if their achieve that required age limit allowed to gamble,  one still need to apply caution while gambling since gambling is highly addictive in nature and can ruin one life if not properly handled.
Age limit isnt actually that a serious thing which people or those youngsters would really be minding off unless if you are dealing with fiat gambling then most likely you would really be stopped on the process considering that you would be using up credit or debit cards or bank accounts which is something that a young person isnt really knowledgeable about on which it would be a big hindrance or stoppage for them to play even if they wanted to.
Unlike when you are really that dealing with crypto space on which playing would really be totally that possible and there's no risks on exposing your identity whether  you are really that young or not and this kind of accessibility does have its pros and cons as we know it.

Its true that addiction is something that could be mold up whether you are young or old which there's no exemption but if we do speak about the tendency or chances comparing the young and the
old then we could be able to point out fingers on whose would really be having the chance on getting addicted more.

The addictions that come with gambling when someone becomes addicted are not something that can be quit with only a simple "will not do it again" statement. The ability to stop gambling requires a lot of discipline.
Taking it from those words will just give you the courage but it's not enough for you to quit. Right, it requires discipline and a lot of it should be applied if you truly desire to quit. But then if not, you're one of those that will be back eventually.

Anyone who continues to bet after making a pledge not to do so needs to work on finding something else to occupy their thoughts. Even if it's to engage in some exercises or something else that will keep his attention off gambling because most people who are addicted to gambling started out of being bored and greedy to the level that they can't go a day without getting themselves engaged in it.
Greed is one of the reasons why they can't quit. It's ok to do it casually but when it is too much, that's one of the hardest things that a gambler has to deal with.
The idea of putting the attention into something else will help, many gamblers I have seen did this that they successful get to quit and control their addiction.

Addiction is one of the worst scenarios that any gambler wouldn't want to be in; it accumulates everything and also wipes out all of our money. After taking fundamental attempts to evacuate the space for the time being, we're in a challenging setting. This has happened to the vast majority of individuals; some have managed to survive and adapt to their principles, while others are unable to maintain their commitments and are compelled to turn to gambling, where they gain and lose a lot of money. Working against our principles justifies our gambling addiction.
They need to be able to say no if they want to go back to gambling one day. Indeed, it is hard to resist the temptation of gambling, but that's what they have to do so they don't become gambling addicts. Apart from that, we have also seen the consequences of playing gambling too often because it can trigger us not to stop playing even though we have won or have reached our target. We can evaluate what we have done before to see if we are lucky and can get a win or if we only experience defeat. Diversion of the mind is what we need to avoid the urge to gamble and not experience defeat again. And if we still want to gamble, we really have to have strong self-control so we don't cross that line.

Welp! Me too. I've once become an addict and this is a very common scenario to me. It turns to the point that I myself don't even believe in my own words. Being addicted to something really makes us lose our self control. I remember that I lost multiple times because of just promising myself to stop playing but I still keep playing until I lose so much money. I believe that having weak self control will head you towards being an addict. I'm just amazed on how much I evolved from being no self control to having a pure control of my gambling status right now.
This is how addiction kicks in when you don't know how to overcome the feelings during gambling. Greed and fear make us emotional and all emotional decisions can lead to the bad endings sooner or later. Being addicted hurts but no one is guaranteed to control himself when the loss becomes too big to handle. Controlling your emotions shouldn't be hard if you know what you are doing, IMO. I suggest using specific gambling block software to avoid excessive gambling in the future. Using old phones with number keypads may help as well to avoid entering casino websites.
^ Because for me, you can make an important observation about how addiction can take hold when individuals struggle to change their emotions during gambling. The potent combination of greed and fear often leads to emotionally-driven decisions, which can probably result in unfavorable outcomes. It could be also an addiction can be incredibly damaging, and when losses become overwhelming, it becomes increasingly challenging to exert control. However, managing our emotions does not have to be an insurmountable task if we possess the necessary understanding and tools. One suggestion I have is to explore the use of specific gambling block software, which can act as a barrier to excessive gambling in the future.

this thing of making a promise and then not fulfilling that promise is not only in gambling addiction, it is also in other things that make people addicted, for example people who consume alcoholic beverages keep promising every day that they will stop drinking , some even do not drink for a few days or a week or a whole month when they are sick, and with that they promise that when they are cured they will not drink alcohol again, but after a month and they are cured, they soon buy beer and are drinking, when someone asks them where the promise that they would not drink again went, they simply answer that they are going to moderate and that they are drinking little

they do not admit that they are addicted to alcohol and the most serious thing about it all is that there are many people in this condition and that they do not admit it and do not seek treatment and the governments have ignored this big problem, but the governments are chasing the casinos, they are forcing the casinos to demand kyc, but governments are not forcing restaurants to kyc every customer. the number of car accidents in which people are driving under the influence of alcohol is a very high number, many people are dying. but the governments do nothing

How many of us are guilty of this?

This happens to me. I have never made a vow to stop gambling all together but I have told my self that I won't gamble for a few days to one week. Most times this happens when I've had too many series of losses or when I've had a big loss.
There is this feeling that I'm missing out on a lot when I decide not to play. Like "what if its this period that I'd win". It is this thought that makes me go back to gambling before the time I was suppose to.
Keeping to self promises like that requires a certain level of discipline. I'm at that point where if I say I don't want to gamble then I wont gamble.
Not only you my friend, it tends to happen to almost everyone who has had a fair share of gambling life and I am also a victim of such vows and at the end of everything I just call it a time of break from gambling and its better that way since I know that its very hard to stop the act but knowing your limit is what every gambler should do to avoid such situation.

I am very disciplined, mostly in gambling. If I do not play for a couple of months, I will really not play, so I can really control myself in gambling. In your case, you can't control your urge to play, which is why you are back, and for sure, in your head, you want to get back your losses, which is really a big mistake when it comes to gambling, as for sure you'll lose more. Though that is somewhat addictive as you can't control yourself, I do suggest creating your own hobby so that instead of gambling, you'll play on your hobby.
You are right if you are really disciplined then you should be able to stop gambling whenever you want, most people are making gambling as a source of income that’s why they are always going back even after saying they are done with gambling, they believe they might be lucky to win back all the money they lost previously.

I know some one thats used to gambling and he is finding it difficult to stop because that’s the only thing that makes him happy, actually he just gamble with little amount, and the person is financially okay, which he is suppose to be gambling with big amount, but he gambles with just little amount, he is not after making money from gambling, but even if he is feeling bad, gambling is the only thing that makes him feel happy that’s why he is finding it difficult to stop gambling.

It is so easy to fall into the classic gamblers fallacy and it's what makes casinos so rich over time. People do not like losing, whether at sports, in a computer game or actual cash out of their pocket. A sort of red mist can descend in many people and a misguided belief that somehow they now have more chance of winning because they've lost a certain amount of bets. People have a hard time accepting that each roll of the dice (or equivalent in any game you play) is entirely independent of all past and future rolls, at least in most scenarios where there is a fair odds system in place. It is less true in games like online slots where more sophisticated algorithms might be manipulating odds behind the scene.

Goodnight, ohh Leo!!! 🦅
I wrote on this before, but I still have to say these: on the contrary - to the points I made earlier, - it's still a usual thing to forget your vows and wishes not play on gambled games... The aroma, the enticement, the interest and the limited goals attached won't let anyone - anyone addicted give up so easily..
I've always tried to see how I can possibly reason out a way to not get addiction as a customary value or an end-product to any entitlement or passion....why?? "Cus it's better to prevent than cue". It's becomes almost impossible to get rid of when it gets into addiction.

That last recommendation is in fact a very good one, one of the problems today is that we have almost everything that we may want at the tips of our fingers thanks to the use of our smartphones, and this means that someone which may have an addiction problem may use their smartphones to get what they want, however if instead you use a dumb phone then the chances that you will gamble in excess drops considerably, as you will not have the opportunity to do this as you go through a moment of weakness.
I have to agree, there are thousands of ways to fund your gambling addiction. People with weak mindsets may use their life savings to feed their addiction but this way is the worst method to take care of your urge to gamble. Some gamblers don't care what it costs but all they want to play more and more. This is not the proper way to survive in today's conditions but that is how their sick mindset works to gamble, unfortunately.

If you are addicted to something, you will always find a way how to satisfy such desires.
You will be willing to go on some extent just to play, and so trouble may follow you if you won't address it right away.
Remind yourself what is important in your life. If it is going to be detrimental when it comes to your family relationships,
maybe high time to change your lifestyle. Before it is too late, you need to decide what's important and what's not.

+1

It is the point, one stops playing at any time, regardless of whether you had big wins or big losses, neither of the two phases is relevant in the decision, and it is a mistake to think that only losses are an issue for not playing anymore. .

The OP uses two very specific thoughts, he is saying that he is addicted and loses money, the second does not justify the first, so if he was making money and not losing it as he mentions, that does not take away the addiction, losing money and trying recovering it is not an addiction.

The best recommendation, pay a specialist. That might help to say that you are a loser but not an addict. (OP)
